I know this isn't what I wanted
I never thought it'd come this far
We were all in the main banquet room. All the campers seemed to be enjoying themselves, while the junior female councillors made humorous attempts to flirt with the senior male councillors. Ever since our kiss, Christine and I had kept our distance. We still talk, but we're not as close as when we first met. I was sitting with my brothers, glancing over at her laughing with Chelly and Lily. She looked at me and I quickly averted my head.
-
I glanced at Nick as he quickly looked down. "Who?" Chelly began as she turned her head back. She looked at me frowning. "Are you guys still friends?" she asked. "I mean, lately, you've been.. well.. edgy you know?" she asked. I nodded. "Yeah, we're still friends.. just taking our friendship.. slow" I said slowly. Lily's eyes lit up as her hand reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. She smiled at the text and furiously began typing back. "Guys, check it" she said. We read it. I dare you to sing on stage. Now: Joe <3
We all looked at him and he waved innocently. Nick and Kevin gave us strange looks and we all turned back to our food. "Guys, follow my lead okay?" I asked. I stood up and walked to the front of the stage followed by Chelly and Lily. A familiar beat began to play as everyone's attention was for us. "I'm gonna tell you about a beat, that's gonna make you move your feet" I sang. "If you know it, join us".
-
I raised an eyebrow amused at Christine's amusing appearance. "I'll give the Bar-B-Q, show and tell you how to move" she sang. "If you're five.." Lily began. "Or eighty-two, this is something you can do" Chelly sang along smiling brightly. "Pop it, lock it, polka-dot-it" Christine sang as she began to do the moves. Chelly and Lily shortly followed. "Country-fy, then Hip Hop Fit" Lily sang. I smiled as everyone quickly joined in. After a while, everyone went back to eating, but also dancing to the beat after it was finished. When they returned to their seats I smiled at Christine when I caught her eyes. She didn't smile back, but just looked at me blankly before laughing along with Chelly and Lily.
-
I felt my pocket vibrate and smiled as I pulled out my phone. "It's a text from Lily" I said smiling at my brothers. Kevin groaned. "Not again" he moaned. I smiled. Your turn danger: Lillers :)
I smiled and stood up. "Let's go guys. It's our turn" I said smirking as I was followed by my brothers to the front of the stage.

We watched as Nick and his brothers walked up onto the stage. When Nick passed by me, he dropped his napkin on the floor. I picked it up and opened it. There was a note written in his elegant scripture. Do you hate me? I need to talk to you ASAP. Meet me down by the waters passed lights out tonight. Bring no one. And don't bother pretending like you didn't get this because I know you did. -Nick
"What's that?" Chelly asked. I quickly ripped the napkin and shrugged. "Nothing importnt" I lied. "Anyone have a camera? This is a precious moment right here" I said referring to Joe and his brothers.
