Chapter 5
“How are you and your boyfriend over there?” I asked Morgan once we were safely at my home. I needed to pack for my rehab tour that would last 3 months. I brought Morgan along with me..I knew I would need help hauling the bags and closing them as well.
Morgan blushed slightly and said, “We’re amazing…everything just seems like I’m floating on a cloud. I just can’t believe how much we’re in love, Mel. It’s-It’s amazing.” Sighing, she pulled the suitcase on my bed and shut it closed.
I laughed at her reaction and continued to close my third bag. “Okay, that’s it.” I said sighing and taking one last look at my room. We hauled the luggage down to the living room and the boys picked them up while I said goodbye to my parents.
“Mom, I love you.” I said hugging her tightly, and wiping a tear away from my face. She sniffed and gave me kiss on the cheek. “I’m going to miss you, darling. Be safe okay?” she cried.
“Aww, Mom. Please don’t cry.” I whispered to her and hugged her once more. I went on to say goodbye to my Dad. We hugged and kissed on the cheek. I took a good look at my home before leaving and climbing onto the bus.
“Don’t worry, Mel. This will be the best 3 months of your life!” Morgan said drapping her arm around my shoulders. I sighed and nodded.
“Okay! Everyone set?” Kevin called from the back of the bus.
“Yeah, babe! Let’s hit the road!” Morgan replied him. Kevin walked from the back and to the front giving the okay to move for the bus driver.
“Kev?” I asked
“Yeah?”
“Where’s my bunk?” I asked taking a seat on the sofa.
“It’s..um.” he said taking in a deep breath. “It’sacrossfromnicksbunk.”
I sighed and nodded “Thanks” I whispered. Why did I have to sleep across from his bunk? Why??
“Morgan, why didn’t you call me last night?” I asked. She looked up from the tv and began “I did..but you didn’t pick up.”
“But Nick called me..did he use your cell or something?” I whispered not trying bring attention to the matter.
She shook her head “I guess he didn’t know that I was going to call and by coincidence he called 5 seconds before I did. I texted you didn’t I?”
“Yeah, you did..but then Nick called me right after I read it. That’s insane..” I whispered. I yawned sleepily and excused myself to take a nap.
When I got up from my seat beside Morgan, I turned around and was instantly bombarded with a hug by someone.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you.” Joe said. I wrapped my arms around him and said, “Joe, you had every right to yell at me..I just didn’t mean to be such a horrible person..I’m sorry too.”
He shook his head and pulled us apart. “No, Mel...Kevin talked some sense into me back there..and I’m the one who should be sorry..for treating you like that.”
“Well, Joe..let’s just say that it’s over now. But for now, I need a nap.” I whispered and I made my way to my bunk.
I saw Nick climb into his bunk and I sighed. I climbed in the bunk opposite from Nick’s. Once I got in comfortably,
I turned to face Nick’s bunk. He had closed the curtains and was snoring softly. I chuckled quietly, remembering how I made fun of him for snoring when we went to sleep together. A tear rolled out of my eye just thinking about that. I pulled out my iPod from the back of my pocket, shoved the earphones in my ears and turned on “Sink into Me” by Taking Back Sunday. I closed the curtain shut and turned over, letting the music lull me to sleep.
