002.
I woke up the next morning with a smile until I looked at the clock.
“4:30…” I whispered to myself. Kathryn stirred in her sleep and I knew that I probably shouldn’t be awake yet.
The next time I awoke it was almost 10 and both Kat and my mom were up. I walked out to the kitchen and sat down at the counter.
“Are you excited?” Kathryn asked.
“Why wouldn’t I be?!”
“Well you know that there are gonna be like…20 other girls there too, right?”
“Ugh I know. Oh well, we already met them.” Kat and I shared a high-five before digging into the breakfast my mom had made.
After getting washed up and changed, Kathryn and I went for a walk while my mom hung out by the pool. I swear this day couldn’t go by any slower.
“So what do you want to do for all five hours until the show?” I asked. Kat shrugged and we continued walking aimlessly around the huge resort.
It finally came time for us to get ready for the meet-and-greet and she show. Kathryn and I got somewhat dressed up. She was in a cute, strapless, violet summer dress and silver ballet flats with a few silver chain necklaces around her neck. I was wearing a white halter dress with a pair of gold Greek sandals.
“Meg, don’t forget your locket.” Kathryn said as she handed me the gold necklace. I clipped my grandmother’s locket around my neck and grabbed my bag heading out. I don’t think Kathryn and I could stand still on the elevator ride down to the theater. We were bouncing on our toes the entire time.
“Alright, I’ll meet you girls in the theater, here are your tickets.”
“Thanks mom, see you soon!” We grabbed our tickets and ran off in the opposite direction towards the meet-and-greet room. I sighed as we stepped inside; there were way more than 20 girls here. Try 50. Kathryn linked her arm with mine and dragged me to the line that was forming in front of a table.
There was another group of three girls in front of us before it was our turn to meet the guys.
“Hi!” I said as I approached Kevin.
“Hey,” He reached over the table to give me a hug which I willingly returned. “Aren’t you the girl whose mom introduced us yesterday?” I blushed and nodded.
“Yeah,” Kevin let out a small chuckle and smiled.
“Nice to see you again.” I took another step down the table and stood in front of Joe. I probably could have melted into a puddle right there. I looked up into his eyes and a giddy smile formed on my face.
“Hey, Megan…right?” He asked as he too, reached across the table for a hug.
“Yeah, how’d you remember?”
“Good memory I guess,” Joe said with a shrug. I giggled and stepped down again.
“Oh, hi!” Nick said as he looked up at me. I smiled sweetly and returned his hug as well.
“Hi,” I stood back and looked at him. He was staring at me with an unreadable expression on his face. I moved down and stood to the side and waited for Kathryn. We were walking to the door when someone called my name. We turned around and saw Joe waving at us.
“Enjoy the show!” He called with yet again, another wink. We smiled and ran out the door, giggling like crazy.
