Chapter One
“Crystal, could you come into my office for a moment?” was the first thing that Crystal heard when she arrived at work. She was a junior photographer/intern for Seventeen magazine. She had no idea why her boss, Brian, would possibly want to talk to her. As she stepped into his office though, he indicated for her to close the door behind her, which she did.
“Take a seat,” he instructed. Once again she followed his orders by taking a seat in the dark blue chair that sat in front of his desk. Her bluish green eyes scanned the room quickly and took in the cream walls and the different, framed pictures that were taken by Brian. She could see photos of Taylor Swift, Demi Moore, and Cameron Diaz, just to name a few. Her eyes focused on the man in front of her though as he started to speak.
“I know that you’re only an intern and everything, but I have a major task for you to do today. This will be a big opportunity for you and I have complete faith that you will do just fine with it. Of course I will be there to help you at first, but once I see that you’ve got the hang of it, I will leave you to your own defenses,” he told her. This little speech of his was making her very excited and yet nervous. She had no idea what he was about to assign her. Or just how much it was going to change her life.
It was the next sentence that was going to turn her life upside down. “I want you to photograph the Jonas Brothers today.” She couldn’t believe what he was asking her. She knew who the boys were of course because you would have to be living under a rock or something not to. She also knew though that this was a huge opportunity for someone like her, someone who was trying to get their foot in the door of the photography business. All she could do was sit and stare at her boss, stunned and her mouth slightly open.
