chapter 1
it was the last day of my junior year in highschool i said my goodbyes to all my friends and then i got in my car and drove home.
i knew this summer was going to be different from all the rest. see i've been saving up to go to this really expensive summer camp its an all girls camp which isn't so exciting but since its a music camp i didn't really care.
the camps called "camp roll" weird name i know but thats because they have an all boys camp called "camp rock" get it rock and roll?.. as soon as i got home i quickly called up the camp hoping there was still a spot for me to go.
ring...ring..
"camp roll this is katie speaking how may i help you?" came a ladys voice.
"hi, i just wanted to sign up for camp this summer" i said happily.
"umm miss the summer camp starts in a week.. and i'm sorry but were completely booked.. this is however one spot available at camp rock the all boys camp if you have a brother that would be interested" the woman said.
oh great no room for me!.. wait i could pretend to be a boy for the summer i can show the boys that i can rock even if i'm a girl.. i thought to myself..
"uhh yes please sign my brother up for camp i know he'd love to go" i said.
even though i don't really have a brother i'm an only child..
"okay and whats your brothers name?" she asked.
crap what his name?... uhh.. i then looked around my room and tried to think of something.
"uhh his name is.. prince... prince charming" i said.
"prince charming?" the lady questioned.
"yes prince charming i know its weird but my mom had this whole obsession with fairytales when she had him" i said hoping she would buy it.
"oh.. okay then tell prince charming to be at camp rock at 9:00 next tuesday" she said.
"okay will do" i said i then hung up the phone..
normally i wouldn't do something like this but music is my passion and i've heard nothing but good things about this camp,
and i want to improve a bit. i love singing and rocking out on my guitar and i want to prove to everyone including myself that i can do something with my life, i'm sick of hearing your not good enough and you'll never find true love.
a couple days passed and i did nothing but pack and practice being a boy. which let me tell you isn't all that hard if your a bit of a tomboy like me.
and soon enough it was tuesday i got everything packed and since my wardrobe looked like stuff boys would wear i didn't have to go buy new stuff.
i grabbed my suitcase and headed downstairs.
"riley where are you going?" my mom asked as i was just about to walked out the front door.
"to summer camp mom remember?" i asked.
"oh yeah i almost forgot i'm so excited that your going to spend the whole summer at an all girls camp maybe you'll learn to be girlie" my mother said.
oh how i hated those words she always wanted me to be super girlie but that wasn't me i was always going against the grain i love to wear skinny jeans and band tee's i'm all about being me even if i'm sort of a tomboy meets punk rock kind of girl.
"yeah i can't wait" i said faking a smile.
"goodbye riley take care!" my mom shouted.
"goodbye mom" i said.
"remember to call me!" she shouted.
"okay i will" i said.
maybe if i'm lucky i'll completely forget to call her. not that i don't love her but she'll only ask me questions like so have you met any new friends? or are you going to get dressed up and hang out with the girls.
like i said before i like to rock out thats who i am i can't help it that i only have guy friends i just tend to get along better with them. but my mom hates it, my dad doesn't seem to mind all that much he trusts me and knows i'll make the right choices.
i just wish my mom would accept me for who i am and stop trying to make me into something i'm not.
i finally got in my car and drove off.. a couple hours later i was finally there. i know its a long drive but atleast i'll be far away from everyone i know.
i quickly put my hair up and put a wig on and i was already wearing skinny jeans and a baggy t-shirt so i didn't really look like a girl to begin with.
"okay so all i have to do is talk like a boy the rest of the summer, sounds easy enough" i thought to myself.
i grabbed my suitcase and walked up to the front desk.
"name?" the woman asked me.
"prince" i said. in my boy voice.
"lastname?" she asked.
"charming" i said.
"is this a joke?" she asked.
"no its not, that my name" i said.
"oh.. looks like your the lucky one" she said.
"huh what do you mean?" i asked confused.
"your the one who gets to share the cabin with those jonas boys" she said.
"huh?" i asked again still very confused.
"see those boys come here every other summer to just get away and work on their music and since its an all boys camp they don't have to worry about crazy girl fans.
and this year their actually letting someone stay with them.. something about their parents wanting them to be normal for a summer i don't know the whole story" she said.
"oh.. so where is my cabin?" i asked.
"its the only one on the hill. go straight out and its on the right you can't miss it" she said.
"okay and whats the name of the cabin?" i asked.
"its called rockstar" she said.
"your kidding me right?" i asked.
"nope i'm afraid not. don't worry though its just like the other cabins only its on the hill so you get more privacy" she said.
"okay well thanks" i said as i grabbed my suitcase and walked up the hill towards the cabin.
"oh great i have to spend the whole summer with some stuck up full of it rockstars.. this will be great" i thought to myself
