CHPT 4
[Late Start]
Haley’s POV
I woke up to the sweet carination of “Hey there Delilah” by the Plain White Tee’s. Slowly opening my eyes, I grabbed my cell phone off of my nightstand.
9:30! I had to be at the studio at 10, and it was thirty minutes away.
“GAH! Physically impossible for me to be on time!” I rambled to myself as I quickly threw on a pair of skinny jeans.
I grabbed a shirt and threw it on; not even noticing it was inside out. I threw my black trench coat over it. I seized my purse and car keys and was out the door.
I made good time, and arrived in the studio parking lot at 10:10. But still, I was late on my first day.
Nick’s POV
I was in the studio conference room at 9:50 when an older man came in greeted me.
“Hello, I am Tom Duke, the producer of this film, and you are Mr. Jonas I presume.” he said, extending a hand.
I shook it, noticing his firm grip and said, “Yes sir, but please call me Nick.”
By the look on his face I didn’t know if what I had just said was unprofessional or a disgrace. But I was certainly taken off guard when he burst into a light chuckle.
“Well Nick,” he said with a smile, “you’re early. I like that.”
I smiled.
In the next five minutes a few more people came into the room, filling up the empty chairs around the room.
At 10:05 all the seats were taken, except one.
“Where is Ms. Smith?” Tom asked.
“Uh, perhaps we should wait for her?” one guy said.
“Five more minutes,” Mr. Duke said. “But in the mean time does anyone want any coffee or lattés?”
A blonde boy came in to take drink orders and then hurriedly left.
At 10:11, Tom looked at the clock and gave out a heavy sigh.
“So I guess we’ll just start without Ms. Smith…” he said angrily.
But before he could continue Haley came busting through the doors.
“I am so sorry,” she started.
“Its fine, just take a seat so we can get started,” he said, pointing to the chair.
Oh great. Day one with the devil and she’s already pulled a diva moment.
