"Are you going to get up?!" I shouted, yanking the blankets off of her. She shuddered and rolled herself into a ball, not willing to wake up.
"Mel! C'mon, do you want mom to come up here?" I yelled again, throwing a pillow at her face. Mel groaned and turned over to stare at me in the face. She was sweating and she looked unsually pale. I narrowed my eyes and furrowed my brows, she didn't look well.
"Are you okay?" I asked, taking her appearence as another sign. This whole past week Mel has been screaming in her dreams and not getting enough sleep. Whenever I would ask what was wrong she would change the subject instantly.
"Yeah, I'm good," She said pulling her covers back on to the bed, I could see the uncertainty behind her eyes. She was fighting whether she should tell me or not. I looked at her skeptically.
"Are you positive?" I questioned again taking a moment to study her reaction. It was a pattern with Mel, she was always defensive at first and then she would almost break down towards the end.
"E, I'm fine, relax!" Mel exclaimed jumping down from her bed. I stared at her some more. She looked thinner then before, I could see her ribcage projecting out of her shirt.
"Mel, have you been eating?" I asked her. She caught my gaze and quickly pulled down her shirt some more. Mel crossed her hands in front of her chest and turned towards me.
"Just leave me alone, Ena, I'm fine!" Mel screeched. This is what I get for trying to help. I mimicked her movement and stared her down.
"Tell me what's going on," I stated as I sat down on her bed. She sighed not wanting to give in to me.
"I don't know," she admited. Mel knew I wouldn't fall for that, she held her head with her hands.
"Mel, seriously, what's going on with your dreams?" I pushed. I wanted to know what was going on with my sister, after all she was the only one I had.
"There she goes again, the girl I'm in love with-" My phone rang, it always had the perfect timing. I looked at the screen, "Ashley," it read. I sighed.
"I have to answer this," I told Mel and I put my phone up to my ear.
"Hey!" I said to my best friend, wishing she had something interesting to talk about.
Sorry it took so long! I had a lot of homework and bridge building. =]
