K, I'm gonna go ahead and post the next chapter. :)
CHAPTER 1
~*~*~*~Alley’s POV~*~*~*~
The day before I had cried my eyes out for literally hours. Dad said it was all part of the healing process or something, but I did feel a little better today. So Dad insisted I went to school.
“Hey Alley!”
I turned to see Megan, my best friend for life, coming towards me smiling.
I smiled and hugged her.
“How’s your mom?” She asked seriously.
“She didn’t make it.” I said, trying not to cry again.
Megan gasped. “Omigosh.” She said hugging me again. “If you ever need anything or just wanna talk, call me.”
I nodded and smiled weakly. Megan was the best friend a girl could ask for.
I entered class as the bell rang, thankful that Dad had called the school and told them not to bring up Mom’s death to the whole class.
“Today, we’re going to start on some biology. Alley, how are you doing?” The teacher asked smiling.
I groaned under my breath and smiled weakly. I knew this would happen.
I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw Joel.
“What happened?” He asked.
I rolled my eyes and turned away.
“Miss Andrews, what happened?” Alyssa, the most annoying girl in our whole class, asked.
“Yeah, what happened?” Someone else asked.
I tried to hold back the tears.
“If you must know, her mom died!” Megan yelled angrily.
I couldn’t hold the tears back now. I ran out of the classroom.
~*~*~*~Aimee’s POV~*~*~*~
I looked up from my computer when I heard the door slam. Alley was home. I knew Dad sent her back to school too early.
I looked back at my computer screen and smiled weakly. I’d gotten into Berkley School of Music. Normally I’d be bouncing off the walls with excitement, but since Mom was gone things were still way different.
I cracked open my door and heard Dad talking to Alley.
“So what happened at school today?” I heard Dad ask firmly.
“You told the teacher not to say anything…but she did.” Alley said weakly.
I heard Dad sigh loudly.
“AIMEE!” I heard Dad yell.
I ran down the stairs and grabbed Cole, our little brother and brought him down with me.
“Yeah Dad?” I asked.
“Well, you know now that your mother is gone there will be some changes.” Dad said, trying not to choke up.
Me and Alley exchanged glances. This did not sound good.
“I got a new job.” Dad said calmly.
I took a breath and laughed. “That’s it?” I said somewhat relieved.
Dad shook his head. “The job is in another state.”
