Even though I didn't get many comments like I wanted, I decided to still post the first chapter. I hope you all enjoy it!!
1st Chapter
In the middle of the long line, Roxanne was waiting in line nervously. Roxanne had black hair, like the night sky, with dark red highlights. Very often, there were black circles under her eyes, since she was a “night owl”. She was very quiet normally, but when she was around her friends, she just cut loose. She was sitting on the side of the road, slowly strumming her guitar and muttering the song she was going to sing under her breath. Luckily, she wasn’t waiting alone. Beside her were the other members of her band, and her two best friends: Allonda and Caroline. Allonda also had black hair, and though at first look she may seem dark, that was completely wrong. She was a super fun girl with way too much energy. She played the piano and was one of the lead singers (with Rox). Caroline, Rox’s other best friend, had light brown hair with blonde highlights. She was a super loud girl who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She played drums and was backup singer. All together, they formed the band “The Red Roses”.
Even though they were a small town, and almost everybody knew each other, their band wasn’t very popular. They were well known at their school Thompson Academy, but apart from that, their music wasn’t very well known. That was why they were hoping that this event would be their big break. They had even gotten up at 6 am to get in line for that audition! That was just how dedicated they were.
“I still can’t believe that we’re here,” Carrie said for what seemed to be the 50th time that day. “I mean it’s so surprising that the Jonas Brothers came here, out of all places.”
Roxanne stopped playing her guitar and set it down on the case. “Well, I guess they just wanted to try different places to find a good opening band. This new tour is supposed to be huge. They probably just want to find the best band.”
“I just hope we’ll get the job,” Ally said. “Wouldn’t it be amazing to tour with the Jonas Brothers?”
“Yeah!” Rox and Carrie screamed at the same time.
They kept waiting in line for what seemed like hours, continuing to talk about everything and nothing, or else they were practicing about a billion times. They wanted to be ready for their audition. If they got that job, it would completely change their lives. This was the break they had been waiting for years.
After hours of endless waiting, around 1 pm in the afternoon, they were finally next in line. They were all shaking a bit, holding their instruments and praying that everything would go fine. Finally, the guard let them enter, and they advanced towards the registration table. Once they had written down all the information necessary, they walked up on the stage, in front of where the Jonas Brothers were sitting, waiting.
