Two girls stood outside the Rivendale terminal waiting for the nine o` clock flight in from California to land. One was seventeen with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes that were brown around the pupil. The other was fourteen with light brown hair and brown eyes. They seemed to be the only two people outside the airport that day, then again, everyone else was already lined up outside the Rivendale mega-dome owned by the Green family, some rich family who owned a ton of companies in Rivendale but didn’t live there. The younger of the two girls spoke up, “Heather, how much longer?” Heather flipped open her phone and glanced at the time “Any minute now Ashly,” Heather responded, clearly bored from waiting. Heather and Ashly were sisters and their parents had asked them to come pick up their cousins who were visiting for two weeks from the airport. Heather and Ashly had quickly agreed because these were their favorite cousins. Suddenly, five people emerged from the terminal and came running towards them. “HEATHER! ASHLY! WE MISSED YOUUUU!” came the loud voice of the middle boy. “Joseph! Calm down!” Heather laughed. The rest of the group caught up to Joe and the three boys exchanged hugs with Heather and Ashly. “So, Kevin, Nick, how have you been?” Ashly addressed her other two cousins. “Good! And we have friends staying with us!” Kevin piped up. The two other members of the five some stepped foreword. One was a short girl with short, dark hair and dark eyes who looked to be about nineteen. The other was average height looking to be sixteen with curly brown hair and pretty hazel eyes. Kevin pointed to the short dark haired girl “This is my girlfriend Alana” he said with a smile. “Awww Kevvie got a girlfriend!” Heather teased, causing both Kevin and Alana to turn bright red. Joe pointed to the other girl, “ This is my best friend Julia” He introduced. “Nice to meet you!” Ashly said with a smile. “Yeah. Sure.” Julia snapped back.
The seven of them headed to the airport parking lot and piled into the family minivan. Heather hopped into the front seat and began driving to the mega-dome so that the boys could get to their concert. She arrived at the mega-dome about twenty minutes later and the girls broke off from the boys to go watch the concert from the crowd. The boys went backstage to get ready for another amazing concert and they threw their suitcases into a car that was driven by their personal driver who had been driving the boys for a long time, he had arrived a day earlier and was to stay in Rivendale and drive the boys around the whole time they were there.
It was after the concert and meet and greet and the boys were headed to the provided van where they knew their driver was waiting. The concert had gone well, but now the boys were ready to just relax for two weeks with their aunt, uncle, and awesome cousins without any fan interruption. They arrived at the van only to find their driver sitting on the hood of the van chatting with a girl. The girl looked to be about thirteen. She was about five foot two inches and was very skinny with pale skin. Her hair was such a dark brow it was almost black, and it was unusually straight and fell a few inches past her shoulders. As the boys got closer, they could see she had freckles across her nose and cheeks. What was most unusual about the girl was the fact she had one brownish-green eye, and one blue-grey eye. Also, she was wearing a winter hat with a pom-pom on top even though it was the middle of summer. The driver noticed them and pointed, clearly showing the girl. The boys sighed, thinking they would have to deal with another fan. The were shocked when the girl smiled at the driver, waved goodbye, and took off into the crowded city streets of urban Rivendale. When they reached the driver Nick piped up “Who was that? How old was she? Why were you talking? Why did she run?” He rushed his questions. The driver gave a smile before replying, “ She left because she said hr work was done here, she was talking to me because I needed a friend to confide in, she’s fifteen, and her name is Lucky.” Kevin scanned the crowded streets of Rivendale, hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl’s hat before she disappeared amongst the skyscrapers, but just like that, Lucky was gone.
