Chapter 1

          Two months later…

          Nick introduced Carla to the family, including Katie. At first Kevin and Joe weren’t too keen because they thought that she was just like Stephanie. But as time went by they started to get to know Carla and liked her.

          Meanwhile.

“I have to go away again.” Nick told Carla. They were in the park sitting on a bench.

          “What? Didn’t you just go away last week? What is it that you do Nick?” Carla asked.

          (Wow she still doesn’t know.)

          “Well… Joe, Kevin and I are in a band. You’ve never heard of us? The Jonas Brothers?” Nick said.

          Carla shook her head.

          “Well we’re sort of on tour right now to promote our new album.” Nick said.

          “Oh.” Carla said.

          “But you can come if you want.” Nick offered.

          “No, it’s ok I still have to do some things here.” Carla said, sounding depressed.

          At the Mall.

          “Mhm…” Joe said. Spacing out.

          “Joe? Are you ok?!” I asked.

          “Yeah. Sure whatever.” Joe said.

          These past days, even weeks. Joe seemed so different. He wasn’t like the Joe I used to know. It seems like he doesn’t care anymore. Like he wants to break up with me. I thought. But I shook my head and ignored my thoughts.

          “So you’re going to Alabama right?” I asked.

          “Yeah, you know the tour.” Joe said.

          We were holding hands. But I got really annoyed that I let go of his and started to walk faster than him.

Chapter 2

          Joe noticed alright. He caught up with me and pulled me to stop.

          “What’s wrong with you?” He asked.

          “What’s wrong with me?! What’s wrong with you, Joe?” I said practically screaming.

          “What did I do wrong?!” He asked.

          “Why are you acting this way?!” I asked him.

          “I’m not doing anything!” He said.

          “Forget it.” I said and walked away. Tears streaming down my face.

          In the Park.

          Carla was really happy for Nick. She was just sort of depressed because he had to go away so often.

          “So, what do you want to do?” Nick asked.

          “You can take me home. I have loads of homework to do. You are so lucky you are Home-Study! Argh.” Carla said trying to lighten things up.

          “Haha.” Nick laughed and held Carla’s hand.

          So they walked to the car.

          (Ok, so Nick is too young to drive. Haha. But let’s just say he can here. Ok? :P)

          In the Mall.

          I rushed to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like a wreck.

          I can’t believe it. Tomorrow is my birthday and he’s acting this way. I thought to myself.

          I fixed myself up and went out of the bathroom I saw Joe there, waiting for me.

          “You ready?” He asked. Like he didn’t care that we just had a fight.

          “Whatever.” I said.

          Then we left the mall.
