Hey, guys! Thanks for all the great comments! They made my day!
I forgot to add this in the beginning, but right now the story takes place in 2006, when the Jonas Brothers were opening for Aly & AJ. (I went to that, but JB was sick or something... so Katelyn Tarver was opening =( )
Chapter 2
As we walked up to the Will Call booth, teeny bopper tweens started lining up outside by the dozens. There were only a few girls my age in line.
“Geeze, this is what we have to go to?” Marina sarcastically said.
“Shut up!” I yelled as we finally got to the booth.
“What can I do for you, ladies?” A man said as he emerged from the ground. I raised an eyebrow.
“Oh! Will call!” The man said and slapped his forehead.
“Yeah…” I replied
“I’ll need your last name and some form of identification”
“Poole,” I said as I searched my white Harajuku Lovers purse for my drivers license.
“Shoot,” I muttered under my breath.
“You forgot you’re driver’s license again, didn’t you?!” Marina said with a sigh, “And I was so looking forward to this!” I ignored her comment and kept digging thru my purse.
“Miss, there are other people in line,” the man impatiently asked.
“Wait! Hold on! You don’t understand! I won the radio contest… you know, backstage passes, free seats?”
“Sorry miss, I’ll need identification if you want me to give you these,” the man said as he dangled tickets from his scrawny hands.
“Please,” I begged, “Do you want me to get down to my knees?” As soon I said that, a boy that looked to be either 16 or 17 pushed passed the other people in line towards me. He had messy black hair and was wearing white Wayfarer sunglasses.
“Give her the tickets, please,” the mystery boy said as he pulled out an ID and showed it to the man.
“Oh! I’m terribly sorry! Here are your tickets and backstage passes, miss! Have a great time!” The man rambled as he handed me two tickets and wristbands. I quickly got out of the crowd of people waiting in line and followed the mystery boy; Marina was trailing behind.
“Hey! Wait up!” I yelled as I ran toward him. He stopped and slowly turned around, almost like a model.
“’Sup?” He answered quickly.
“Hey, thanks- so much. How’d you convince that old man to give me my tickets?” I asked as I looked at what he was wearing. He had on a gold t-shirt, skinny black jeans, and the white Wayfarer sunglasses. He was the first boy I ever saw that could pull off such a look.
“No problem-o. I have my way with people.” I raised my eyebrow and he chuckled.
“So… are you a fan of Aly & AJ?”
“Totally!” He started singing “Rush” in a high pitched voice. We both laughed in unison. Suddenly, he checked his gold watch.
“Shoot,” he muttered to himself, “look, I gotta go. Catch ya later, gator?”
“Yeah, baby,” I answered with a smile, “By the way, love the glasses!”
“You better!” He answered as he ran toward some tour buses.
“Oops,” I thought to myself, “I never got his name.”
“Wait! What’s your name?!” I called to the distance. I heard a faint “Joe!” in the distance.
“I’m Emily!” I yelled back. I waited for an answer. Nothing.
“Dang, he was cute,” I thought. I slowly started trudging back to the building; they started letting people in. Marina suddenly started running toward me.
“Hey! What happened to you?” Marina called to me.
“Just thanking that guy who got our tickets,” I answered. My cheeks grew warm just thinking of him.
“Joe,” I silently said to myself to make sure I remember his name.
“Dang, girl! He was cute! You should’ve chased after him!” Marina said with a laugh.
“Oh, well. There are more fish in the sea.” I said with a sigh. We started heading toward our seats.
“Hey, why was he at an Aly & AJ concert?”
Could this be Joe Jonas? Hmm.. Stay tuned for more! ;D
I got A LOT of homework this weekend... 2 alg. pages, a LA report, and a SS quiz on Monday, so don't expect another update 'till late Saturday night =(
