Chapter 2
“You have a mild concussion,” the nurse said to me.
A concussion? So what? I have had about twenty of those on the job.
But the guys took the news a little bit harder.
“What?!? A concussion! That’s a bruised brain!” Kevin said in a very worried tone.
“Kev, I’m fine,” I said.
“That’s just the morphine talking,” Joe argued.
“What? They didn’t put me on morphine,” I said.
The two eldest brothers fell into deep conversation with the doctor, while me and Nick talked lightly.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yea, I don’t get why you guys are making such a big deal of this,” I said.
“He it’s my brothers, not me,” Nick said, then got that cute little smile on his face.
“We have to get to sound check!” I said as I glanced at the time on my cell phone.
“What are you talking about we?” Kevin said, taking me by surprise. “Haley you have a concussion, and I don’t think its going to be good for you to be at a concert with a bruised brain,”
“Enough about my brain,” I said. “Can I at least go with you guys?” I begged, fearing to leave the three boys unprotected.
“Fine, but you aren’t performing,” Joe finished.
“Deal” I agreed and then we all went back on the bus.
“Uh, sir, do you mind me asking what happened?” I said to our bus driver as we were driving to the venue.
“Some idiot came out of know where and cut in front of me,” the bus driver said. “It was like he was trying to make me get into an accident. And trust me, if this thing gets into an accident, it could be very dangerous, and possibly deadly for you guys,”
“You don’t say” I murmured under my breath.
“Yea, but its fine now. And I’m sorry about your head,” he said.
“Oh don’t worry about it,” I said and then walked over to the boys, who were getting changed.
“Sexy,” I said as I walked in on Joe without a shirt.
“You know it!” he said striking a pose.
