“Natalie Johnson! You’re needed on stage!” A girl came up to my father and told him. My father, Greg Johnson, nodded at her and looked over at me. I walked over to him and we slowly walked towards the stage. “Try to answer the questions like I’ve told you answer them,” he told me. I nodded and wanted to tell him how many time’s I’ve heard this from him before.
“Thanks daddy,” I said. I walked slowly to the opening, but stopped in front of it. I wasn’t supposed to go on yet. Someone said that they’ll let me know, and now I was waiting for their cue. Although, it was pretty obvious when I heard Ellen announce my name and people started cheering.
The person behind me said, “Go!” And I walked onto the stage, smiling at everyone in the audience. I waved as I walked over to the couch. I looked over at Ellen and she smiled at me. I put my arms out as soon as I came to her and we hugged. Then we both sat down. I smiled and looked at the audience again. They were still screaming and cheering for me. I said, “Wow. Thank you,” into the microphone on my shirt.
“Natalie Johnson,” Ellen said, “Wow. You’re a hit across the world!” I grinned and shrugged a little. She continued, “What do you have to say about that?”
“Well, I would love to thank my fans for everything. They’re the ones that could make all this happen.” The crowd cheered once again.
Once they quieted down Ellen began, “2007 is just a big year for you, isn’t it?”
I laughed, “Yeah. I’d like to think so.”
Ellen smiled and asked me, “And you’re only… how old?”
“Seventeen,” I answered.
“Wow. That’s amazing. I, for one, love the songs you’ve made and everything. You’re just adorable! Isn’t she adorable?” Ellen asked the audience. I blushed and then she added, “You’ve got boys everywhere that have just fallen in love with you!”
“Wow, really?” I smiled.
“Yeah!” She said, “So, are you currently dating? Single? What?”
I laughed, “Single.”
“Do you like anyone?” Ellen asked me.
“Ha, no.” I pouted, “I haven’t had the time!” I explained.
She laughed, “We’ve gotten so many people on the show that have said they like you!” I smiled and she asked me if I wanted to know who they were. I shrugged and said, “I guess?”
She pointed to the screen behind her and I turned around to face it. We must’ve gone through millions of pictures, and videos of the boys who’ve said that I was cute and they liked me. I blushed every single time. “Oh and here’s our last one!” She said, “This was recent.” I nodded and looked at the screen. A picture of a group of boys came up. I didn’t know who they were, but the crowd cheered when they saw them.
“That’s right ladies,” Ellen smiled, “the Jonas Brothers.”
I nodded and looked at them, “I don’t think I’ve ever heard them.”
Ellen explained to me, “They became huge in 2007 as well.” I nodded my head and looked at them. “So, which one do you like? Let’s see if you match up.” Ellen smiled.
I bit my lip and shook my head, “No. No. I can’t do that.” Yeah, my father would probably be disappointed in me. Many rumors would fly, I don’t want that.
Ellen sighed, “Come on!” She laughed, “It won’t hurt cha.”
I smiled at her and looked at the picture, “I guess,” I pointed slowly at the picture, “That one.”
Ellen smirked and said, “Lets play the video!” I looked at the screens around me as they started playing a video. It was of the Jonas Brothers and Ellen, of course.
“So, are you guys dating?” Ellen asked them.
“Nah, we’re all single,” a boy said.
“Is there anyone that you like?” Ellen asked them again.
They laughed, and shook their heads.
“Any celebrities that you like?”
This time they looked at each other and another one spoke up. The boy in the middle, “Well,” he laughed, “I really like Natalie Johnson. I think she’s pretty cool. I’d love to meet her.”
They ended the video there and I blushed looking at the audience as they aw-ed together. I looked at Ellen as she said, “You wanna know who that guy is?” I shrugged and she smiled, “Joe Jonas.”
I nodded and said softly, “He’s cute.”
“He’s your age too!” Ellen said. I smiled as she said, “I should get a job in match making.”
“Oh yeah, definitely!” I laughed with the audience.

After the show, I went backstage to meet up with my father. I was dreading the moment that I would finally reach him. I knew I was getting a lecture soon. I saw him and tried to walk away, quietly. “Not so fast Natalie!” I closed my eyes and hung my head back. Sighing I walked over to him.
“Now Natalie,” he started, “I don’t blame you for doing that whole choosing thing.” I looked at him shocked, “And I know that you, you know, like boys and everything,” I groaned as he continued, “Listen Natalie!” I looked at him, “I just don’t want the media to hurt you.”
I nodded then said, “So… can I meet him?” I looked at him hopefully.
“I’m sorry,” he shook his head, “No.”
“Daddy! I think I’m old enough to decide what I want to do with my life!” I whispered to him, so that nobody would hear.
“Nat,” he said, “If this Joe guy sees you and wants to say hello, then you’ll be polite and talk to him. But only for a minute.”
“A minute?” I gaped. He nodded then I muttered, “Who cares anyway, it’s not like I’m going to ever meet him.”
