CHAPTER 1
Kevin walked out of his room and went straight for the kitchen. He was nervous for his younger brother Nick, today was his meeting with the Record Company. Nick was an amazing singer and Joe knew that. But what if Nick wasn’t what they were looking for. Then what? He didn’t want to see his little brother, only 12, to have his dreams crushed.
He sat on the counter popped a piece of a pop tart into his mouth. It was just a matter of time until Nick and his dad got home, would tell him the news, and would find out if Nick had to leave for Hollywood.
The door clicked open and Kevin heard footsteps in the foyer. He jumped off the counter and raced to the front of the house. His parents and younger brothers Nick were standing there hanging up their coats.
“So what happened?” Kevin asked impatiently.
“Where’s Joseph?” his father asked him, completely disregarding his question.
“In his room, asleep.”
“Ok. Better go wake him up.” Mr. Jonas walked past Kevin and up the stairs to Joe’s room. “Joseph, wake up.” He knocked on the door, which was immediately opened by a fully dressed Joe.
“I’m up. What happened today?” He raced past his father, down the stairs, and grabbed Nick by the shoulders.
“Why don’t we go into the living room and talk?” Mrs. Jonas said.
They family walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.
“Well you see boys; we are going to have to be moving soon -”
“Nick you got signed!!!” Kevin and Joe yelled at the top of their lungs, interrupting their father.
“Well yes, and no.” Nick said as secretively as possible.
“We played the company the demo of all three of you singing Please Be Mine…and they wanted to sign all three of you on the spot.”
Kevin’s jaw dropped wide open. Joe’s hands were flailing in the air. Amazed, they both began to cry.
