Chapter One: The Nightmare
I woke up in a white, unfamiliar room with only a bed in it. I looked in the bed and saw a boy trying to sleep in it. He was hooked on millions of machines and wires were all over him. I walked to him and gently knelt by him. I looked at his face to see bruises and scrapes and cuts covering him. My heart was broken as I looked at his worried, sleeping face. But then I noticed something... I knew this boy. He was my.... best friend!!!! I screamed slightly and woke him up.
"JOE! What....... what happened?" I asked, tears leaking my eyes.
"Krystal, I'll be ok... Don't you remember, the accident?" He asked.
"What accident?" I asked confused.
"You, don't remember?" He asked puzzled. All of a sudden his breathing got shorter and faster and tears rolled down his cheeks. I shook my head, trying to remember what he was talking about.
"The accident... Drunk driver, hit us hard, then we hit a pole and... Nick...." He said softly. His breathing got shorter and harder as he struggled for air. I screamed in fear. The machines start beeping uncontrollably and Joe passed out. Doctors and nurses poured in the room and started to pull me away from Joe. I held on to his hand and screamed.
"Get her away now!" one of the doctors screamed. Four nurses started to take me away. I was crying and screaming and fighting to have my way, but nothing worked. I saw a doctor about to inject something... but then... it was too late.
"I'm so sorry.... but Joe's..." He stopped and nodded sadly and walked out of them room, followed by all the other doctors and nurses.
"JOE!!! NO!!!" I ran to him and looked at his lifeless body. Tears poured out my eyes as grabbed his hand and held it.
"Wake up Joe! PLEASE! You're NOT dead! YOU'RE NOT!!!! PLEASE JOE!!" I pleaded over and over. But still nothing. I laid my head on his chest and gently started singing...
I love you and I need you
Why can't you tell that I'm not fine?

"Krystal, wake up!" I heard a voice calling as my eyes fluttered open. I saw Joe sitting in the darkness with me, shaking me. " You must of had one bad dream to be screaming like that!" He chuckled softly, but then stopped. He looked at my face and saw the tears rolling down and his smile dropped. He wrapped his arms around me and comforted me as I cried. It was all a dream... or really.... A Nightmare...
