Hey everyone, this is my first fic. Let me know how you like it. There may be auditions for some roles later in the story but I'm not 100% positive about that.

Chapter 1
“Alexia! The phone’s for you!” my father shouted, not sounding pleased at all.
I bolted from my room and hurriedly grabbed the phone, flinching at the grip my father had on my arm.
“You have five minutes.”
I nodded quickly, shaking and raced back to my room. Still shaking, I fell on my bed and put the phone to my ear.
“Hello?”
“Alexia? This is Kevin Jonas,” there was a slight pause followed by a click. “And Nick,” another voice yelled, sounding farther from the others. “And…DANGER!” someone else exclaimed into the phone.
There was laughter on the other line and I couldn’t help but crack a grin.
“Ummm hi?”
More laughter. I stared at my phone, still in complete disbelief. Why on EARTH would they be calling, and now of all times? I thought to myself as the laughter died down.
“Well Alexia…” Kevin began but was cut off by “Danger” in the background. “Let me tell her, Kevin.”
“We know it’s pretty late to be calling but your song won the contest. Congratulations!” Joe exclaimed to me
My song? It won? I couldn’t believe this at all.
“It won—” I started but was interrupted by multiple yells from downstairs. “Alexia! OF F THE PHONE! NOW!”
“Guys…guys I really have to go.” I answered praying that they wouldn’t notice the dear in my voice.
“Well we’re going to pick you up tomorrow afternoon around 3:15 or so. You’ll be staying with us for the weekend.” Nick explained
“Oh…wait. Do…do my parents know? Like did you tell them already?” I asked frantically, my voice rising several octaves
“Yeah…right before your dad put you on the line.” Kevin answered in obvious confusion.
“Oh ok then –” I began but jumped a foot when my door was slammed open.
“I said, ‘Get off NOW!” my dad roared. Instantly I stabbed at the off button as a hand came in contact with my cheek. I managed to choke out a quick goodbye before throwing the phone to the side. My father began screaming at me and I didn’t realize that the phone was still on until a dial tone started beeping a minute later.
“Crap,” I muttered under my breath preparing to be hit again. I lay there helplessly on my bed as the beating began and lasted for what seemed like fifteen days instead of the fifteen minute span it took place in. The pain left me sobbing into my pillow and my cries of pain, fear, and questioning went unanswered. Not to mention hours away, left one very confused Jonas several hours away.
JOE’S POV
I hung up the phone in disbelief not knowing whether to tell Nick and Kevin what I had heard or not. I shook it from my mind. It was probably nothing. It thought as I reached for some of the fan mail that came with the contest. I pulled out the top already ripped envelope and unfolded the first sheet of paper, ignoring the second sheet that fell into my lap.
Nick, Joe, and Kevin --
Hey guys! I love your music. This is just something else I wrote but it’s not for the contest. I figured if I sent it with my entry that there was a pretty good chance you guys would see it soon. It’s on the second page titled “Escape”.
I picked up the sheet from my lap and scanned it several times in awe of what she had written. I looked back at the rest of the letter and my mouth dropped as I read what this girl had been through in only the past few months. As I finished, I sent up a prayer that she would be OK. I glanced at the name and address on the envelope. Alexia Morgan. Where had I already heard that name? I didn’t have much time to think about it as I pushed the envelope aside as Nick and Kevin came back downstairs. They grabbed their guitars and we ran through a few songs for the upcoming show in New York that weekend. The final chords of Hello Beautiful lingered in the basement, otherwise known as our music room as I grabbed the letter. I began scribbling a reply, absently humming Year 3000 and was oblivious to Kevin playing it on his guitar, and to the look he was giving me. I signed my name to the letter and tucked in an envelope before heading to bed. As I walked upstairs to bed, that's when it all clicked. Alexia Morgan. The contest winner whom we had just called.
