Chapter 2

The band was walking over to their dressing rooms. Loes walked in hers and sat down on the sofa strumming the strings of her guitar. Someone knocked on her door.

“Come on in!” Loes called out.

Harriet popped her head around the door. “Hey, practicing already? We’re not up for another 3 hours you know!”

“Yeah I know, I really don’t wanna screw up.” Loes said putting her guitar away.

“Loes, you are the face of headlights. Everyone knows you rock the hardest, are gorgeous and talented, so you’re going to go out there and rock everyone’s world!” Harriet said saying it in a coaching way.

Loes laughed. “Thanks Harriet, but I dunno.. the thought of the Jonas Brothers being there just scares me.”

“Why? Just because of your celebrity crush on Nick?”

“Yeah, I guess sort of.” Loes said.

“I see, so I heard they’re already here too. Wanna go see them?” Harriet asked.

“No, it’ll just make me tense I think.” Loes said sighing.

“Alright, well don’t lose sleep over it.” Harriet hugged Loes and left.

“Yeah let’s try that..” Loes mumbled singing the chorus of the song she was going to sing at the charity event.

“I’d do anything, just to hold you in my arms.. to try to make you laugh.. because somehow I can’t put you in the past..” Loes sang.

“Oh what the hell.” Loes needed to go for a walk, so she decided to go walk around the backstage area.

Meanwhile..

Kevin was playing random chords on the guitar while Joe was fixing his hair in the mirror. Nick drumming his fingers on the coffee table.

“Yo Nick, what’s with you? You’ve been totally edgy the whole time.” Joe asked.

“I dunno, I think I should go for a walk or something. Get the whole thing off my mind.” Nick stood up and went to explore the area backstage.

Loes was walking around as she saw the whole crew readying the stage. “Wow..” Loes muttered seeing a huge poster of her with her other band members in the background. Loes moved along exploring the rest of the backstage area.

Nick walked past the huge poster of Loes. “She’s so beautiful..” Nick mumbled staring up the huge poster.

Loes bumped into Aly from Aly & AJ. “Oops! Sorry, my bad.” Loes said smiling nervously.

“That’s alright. Hey, you’re Loes from Headlights aren’t you?” Aly asked smiling.

“Yeah, that’d be me.” Loes smiled. “Oh gosh, me and my sister are huge fans!” Aly said eagerly.

“Thanks! You’re music is awesome.” Loes grinned.

“Ah thanks! What song are you guys performing?” Aly asked curiously.

“I’d do anything.” Loes smiled. “And you guys?”

‘Ooh! I love that song! We’re performing Chemicals React.” Aly said smiling anxiously.

Nick noticed Aly talking to someone who looked like Loes, from Headlights. But he wasn’t assuming it was her. “Aly!” He shouted and waved. “Hey Nick!” Aly shouted back gesturing him to come closer.

‘Nick.. as in Nicholas Jerry Jonas? Oh god.’ “Hey I have to go, rehearse a bit you know.” Loes smiled awkwardly. “It was nice meeting you! Bye!” Loes quickly walked in a different direction.

“Yeah, see ya Loes!” Aly smiled.

“Hey, what’sup Aly?” Nick smiled as he came up closer to Aly.

“Heya Nick, nothing much.. I was just talking to Loes from Headlights. I was like almost squealing!” Aly said laughing.

“Loes? That was her?” Nick asked surprised.

“Yeah, do you like Headlights’ music?”

“Are you kidding? I admire them like woah.” Nick said grinning.

“Haha! Well too bad she had to go, otherwise you could’ve met her.” Aly said.

“Oh that’s alright, I might just go look for her now. Regards to AJ!” Nick said moving along.

Nolee texted Loes:

‘Hey Loes, where are you?’

Loes texted Nolee:

‘Just walking around backstage.’

Nolee texted Loes:

‘Oh ok, I thought you like ran off or something, Harriet told me about ur nerves.’

Loes sighed and texted back:

‘Yeah, I’ll get over those.’

Nick saw Loes standing there texting, he wondered if he should go up to her. Loes looked up and saw a curly haired boy, about the same height as her staring at her. “Oh-oh.” Loes muttered.

Loes stood there for a moment and texted Jake who was on stage checking out the drums.

‘Oi Jake, get your butt down here, as in backstage NOW.’

Jake laughed and came around the corner. “Oi Loes, I’m here.”

Loes sighed relieved and smiled. “Get your butt down here now.”

Jake walked over to Loes. “What’sup with Ms. Stage fright?”

“Pshh, don’t let me remind you, what you were like at the concert where Mandy Moore was performing.”

“Oi, we’re not talking about the past.” Jake said teasingly.

Nick stared at Loes talking to Jake. ‘Are they going out? Dang..’ Nick frowned and went back to the dressing room where Joe and Kevin were arm wrestling.  “Hey guys.” Nick said falling down on the sofa.”

“Yo bro.” Joe said being beat by Kevin.

“I win!” Kevin yelped smiling.

“Pshh, no way. You SO cheated.” Joe said sticking out his tongue.

“What’sup with you Nickster?” Kevin asked Nick.

“Nothing, when are we up again?”

“In about 20 minutes, we better get ready.”

Chapter 3

Loes was walking back to her dressing room. She was fiddling with her hair as she put on her wristband which said: “Livestrong.” For the concert she was wearing a black skinny jeans, with a white ruffly blouse with over that a black top. She wore a necklace with a little Buhdda. She was wearing some low Converse All-Stars, she looked like a total rockstar. She smiled as she was satisfied with her look, and sat back down on the sofa to practice.

Harriet popped her head around the door. “Hey! Loes! Jonas Brothers are performing! C’mon!”

Loes quickly got up and followed Harriet. She could hear the Jonas Brothers singing ‘That’s just the way we roll’.

Loes smiled and applauded together with Harriet backstage. “Hey dudelita, this means we’re up next in 5 minutes!”

“What?!” Loes screamed.

“Go get your guitar now!” Harriet commanded laughing.

Loes ran over to her dressing room getting her guitar as she was ready to rock ‘n roll.

Back at the Jonas Brothers..

The Jonas Brothers ran off stage and smiled.

“That went pretty good!” Nick exclaimed smiling.

“It did yesh it did.” Joe said laughing.

“Hey guys! Headlights up next!” Kevin smiled anxiously.

Back at Headlights…

Loes and the rest of the band were standing ready backstage to run on.

“And here we have the popular teen band: HEADLIGHTS!”

Loes and the rest of the band ran on stage Loes taking the lead microphone and smiled.

“Hey what’sup everyone, I’m Loes and now we’re going to sing: I’d do anything!”

Jake smiled as he ticked his drumsticks together and said: “1, 2, 1, 2, 3 go!”

Nolee started playing on her violin, as Jake drummed away on the drums and Mike plucked strings on his bass and Harriet and Loes strummed away on the guitar. Loes sang solo:

“Another day is going by
I'm thinking about you all the time

And I wrote this letter in my head
Because so many things were left unsaid

Harriet joined in on Loes and they sang:

Loes sang in a sort of speaking way:

You could hear an after echo of all the instruments as the crowd cheered enthusiastically.

“Thank you!!” Loes said into the microphone.

“You guys rock!” Mike said holding his microphone.

“See ya!” Harriet yelled in microphone as they walked off stage.

As they walked of stage Loes shouted: “Yeah! Wooh!”

“Someone got over stage fright.” Jake said pushing Loes.

“Well the crowd just was totally pumped, so yeah.” Loes said but froze when she saw three boys standing in front of her.

“Hey!” Joe said smiling.

“You guys sounded great!” Kevin said smiling and clapping enthusiastically.

Nick just smiled he slightly blushed when he saw Loes look at him.

“Thanks, so did you guys.” Loes said smiling as she waved hello.

“I’m Loes.”

“We know.” Kevin said smiling. “We love your music.”

Loes laughed.

“I’m Mike, and this is my Nolee.” Mike said wrapping his arm around Nolee’s waist.

Nolee giggled. “Harriet.” Harriet said slightly raising her hand. “And I’m Jake.” Jake said throwing his drumsticks in the air.

“How long are you guys staying in New York?” Kevin asked.

“Oh, the whole week. Going to some charity events and stuff like that.” Loes said smiling.

“Awesome, what hotel are you guys staying at?” Joe asked smiling.

“The Sheraton Hotel.” Nolee said smiling.

“Seriously? So are we!” Joe said.

“We should hang out after the event.” Harriet said nudging Loes.

“Yeah awesome, we’ll see you guys at the hotel in the lobby at.. like 8?” Kevin said checking his watch.

“Sure, we’ll be there.” Harriet said smiling leaning on Loes.

Loes squinted her eyes while staring at Harriet.

Nick smiled at Loes.

“Oi guys! It’s the Plain White T’s.” Jake yelped as he half dragged Harriet and Loes with him to see them perform.

“Dude! You wrecked Loes’ moment!” Harriet said crossing her arms.

“What moment?” Loes asked raising an eyebrow.

“Pshh, and you say you’re in love with Nicholas Jerry Jonas, pshh.” Harriet shook her head.

“Keep it down will you?” Loes said angrily.

“Yeah whatever Loesy, let’s just watch the Plain White T’s now.”

“Wow they rock.” Jake said bopping his head to the song.

Chapter 4

Loes got onto the tour bus. Nolee was lying in her bunk, Harriet was playing guitar hero III with Mike and Jake was lounging around on the sofa.

“Hey guys.” Loes said seating next to Jake.

“Yo Loes, whassup up in the hizzle-shizzle?” Jake said rapping.

Loes stared at Jake with that look: ‘You’re pathetic.’

“What?! It works when Joe Jonas does it.” Jake said shrugging.

“Yeah but that’s Joe Jonas.” Harriet exclaimed laughing.

“He’s hot and he’s funny.” Harriet continued, as she failed miserably to beat Mike at guitar hero.

“And I thought you were the guitarist.” Mike said teasingly.

“Oi!” Harriet said giving Mike a soft push, Mike just laughed.

“So Loes, did ya talk to Nicholas Jerry Jonas?” Harriet asked sitting next to Loes.

“Yeah I did, I wasn’t that nervous or anything. I went to the fans to say hi and he just showed up next to me.”

“Oooh maybe he likes you!” Harriet said smiling anxiously.

“No, he probably went to say hi too.” Loes said, she was confident that that was the reason, although it did pale if you compared it to Nick coming to look for her.

“What do you reckon we should go do when we hang out with the guys?” Harriet asked Loes.

“I dunno, we could go to starbucks, watch a movie.. anything really.” Nolee said getting out of her bunk.

“Oi, Nolee.” Mike said crossing his arms.

“Oh, wait.. I was just suggesting! Mike and I have a date.” Nolee said laughing.

“Yeah, if you forgot, pshh.” Mike exclaimed trying to look mad.

“Mike.. man, you fail miserably at looking mad.” Jake said laughing.

Mike smirked and quickly yelled: “Whadda ya know! We’re at the hotel!”

They all walked up to their rooms. Loes, Harriet and Nolee shared a double-room and Jake and Mike shared one room.

Loes sat down on the sofa and immediately started playing guitar.

“Wow Loes are you playing again? Lately you’ve been about music like 24/7.”

“Well yeah, it’s kinda a thing I love to do you know.” Loes said giggling.

“Yeah but come watch a movie with us!” Nolee said digging through their collection of DVD’s they took everywhere.

“Whatever.” Loes said kneeling down next to Nolee digging through DVD’s.

“What about.. we watch season 5 Friends?” Nolee suggested.

“Yeah!!” Harriet cheered inserting the CD in the DVD player.

“You guys, I just wanna go for a walk really. Kinda still pumped with the whole concert thing, I need to unwind.. maybe go for a jog in central park you know?” Loes said sounding tired.

“Okay sweetie, bye!” Nolee said snagging the remote from Harriet.

Loes walked out of the room and tugged at her hair.

“Who am I kidding, I just didn’t want to watch TV.” Loes muttered.

Loes walked over to the music entertainment room. There was an orchestra playing classic music. Loes took a seat and listened carefully.

‘Wow.. this is amazing.. those guys are so talented.’ Loes said staring at the orchestra players. After an hour of listening to the music Loes decided to head back. She plugged in her iPod ears and hummed to the tune of: ‘S.O.S. – Jonas Brothers’

She walked inside the room where Nolee and Harriet were cracking up over Friends.

“Cleared your mind sweetie?” Nolee asked looking up at Loes.

“Yeah, I just went to the orchestra thing, it was pretty nice.” Loes smiled.

“Hellooo Nolee!” You could hear Mike call from behind the door.

“Woops, I forgot.” Nolee whispered quickly tugging at her hair opening the door.

“Let’s go hun.” Mike said smiling.

“Yeah, bye guys! Have fun with the Jonas Brothers!” Nolee called as she left with Mike.

“We will, won’t we Loes.” Harriet said nudging Loes.

Loes smirked annoyed by Harriet.

Jake let himself in. “Hello, if miss. who has a crazy crush on Nicholas Jerry Jonas and Harriet wanna go hang out with the Jobros you guys better go downstairs. It’s like almost 8.” Jake smirked at Loes.

“Yeah let’s go Loes!” Harriet said dragging Loes out of the hotel room towards the elevator. 

“I can walk too you know.” Loes said brushing her shirt off.

“Psh, is should put you on a lease in case you run off again.” Harriet said smirking as Jake entered the elevator clicking the ‘L’ as in Lobby.

“Don’t worry lil’ Loes, we’ll make sure you get some time alone.” Jake laughed.

“God, if I could like freeze the two of you, I would.. often.” Loes said nodding sincerely.

Harriet and Jake laughed as they walked into the lobby.

Loes immediately noticed three tall guys, one with curly and the other two with straight dark hair. “Hey guys!” Harriet yelped as Loes gave her an elbow and smiled.

“Hey!” Joe said turning around smiling.

“What’sup guys?” Jake asked doing the peace sign.

“Just waiting up for you guys.” Kevin answered.

“What do you guys wanna do?” Harriet asked rocking on her feet back and forth.

“Well there’s this really cool bar thing, in the hotel with performances and stuff.” Kevin started explaining.

“Yeah, it’s like awesome as in cool as in yeah.” Joe said crossing his arms and leaning back a bit.

Harriet and Loes laughed. “Sounds great!” Harriet said cutting Loes off before she could share her opinion.

“Let’s go then, shall we?” Kevin said smiling.

Loes looked up at the sign of the bar: ‘Karaoke Bar?’ She thought to herself.

Nick smiled at Loes as they locked eyes for a moment.

They sat at a table for exactly 6 as Loes walked up to a chair Nick shoved it back so Loes could sit down. “Thanks.” Loes said smiling.

Nick just smiled at Loes as he sat down across from her.

Harriet sat down next to Loes and gave her an elbow smirking.

“Would you guys like some drinks?” Jake asked standing up to walk over to the bar.

“Yeah, a sprite please.” Harriet said smiling.

“Loes?” Jake asked memorizing Harriet’s order.

“Water please.” Loes smiled sweetly.

Jake nodded and looked over to the guys.

“Coffee.” Kevin said smiling.

“Seven up.” Joe said putting up 7 fingers.

Harriet giggled and Nick said: “A water too please.”

“Alrighty mates, I’ll go get that then.” Jake grinned and walked over to the bar to order.

“So how’ve you guys been?” Harriet asking trying to start a conversation.

“Oh we just got back from the event, we just chilled in our hotel room and yeah now we’re here.” Joe said.

“Just a sec.” Harriet said smiling as she walked over to a guy who was at a control panel.

She whispered something in his ear motioning towards Loes and Nick. The guy smiled and nodded. Harriet sat back down.

“What was that?” Loes said laughing.

“Nothing.” H
