Hey everyone. Here's the preview-but-not-really-cuz-it's-more-like-an-intro to my first ff. I wrote a two shot called "When You Look Me in the Eyes" and got a ton of positive comments so if you want to check that out...
Let me know if this ff is worth continuing. Comments and feedback are the best :)
“There,” I whispered to myself as I hung up the last poster for the band my boyfriend, Nick and his brothers, Joe and Kevin, created. Nick sang and played guitar, Joe just sang and ran around acting crazy, and Kevin was lead guitarist. Their friend Jason was drummer and I was in a couple songs too playing the piano. I stood back and appreciated my work. I had spent the morning walking around my town and the neighboring towns with Nick, hanging up about 200 posters anywhere I could. It was exhausting, but worth it.
Almost no one came to the shows even though the band had been around for nearly two months. It could get pretty depressing so after one show where only my best friend Mandy, Jason’s girlfriend and Mr. And Mrs. Jonas, the guys’ parents, and their little brother Frankie showed up, I decided to take matters into my own hands, be sort of a PR agent. So I made a few posters, made a few phone calls and all of a sudden more and more people have showed up.
“Boo,” Nick said into my ear, hugging me from behind.
“Hey, so we’re done!”
“Finally!” he said with a laugh.
“I know. Now what?” I asked.
“Joe and Jasmine are waiting for us at Johnny Rockets,” he said and laughed at the face I made when Joe’s girlfriend was mentioned. She was mean, obnoxious and how do I put this nicely? A bit easy… know what I mean? In the twelve years I knew Joe, he never had a decent girlfriend. He’s a sucker for the bad ones I guess. He deserved more but whatever, his choice
“What about Kevin and Sara?” I asked. I liked Kevin’s girlfriend, Sara, more than Joe’s, but there still seemed like there was something off with her.
“They might meet up with us later,” he said, taking my hand as we walked to the center of town.
Let me tell you a little more about my relationship with the Jonas boys, seeing as they played a huge role in my life. Kevin was 20, Joe was 18 and Nick was 15, my age. I met them 11 years ago one day when I wandered from my parents and got lost in the park. The three of them found me and we remained friends, best friends actually. About kindergarten Nick and I started going out. I know, you’re thinking what? Kindergarten? You can’t go out in Kindergarten! Being his girlfriend meant that we’d share markers and stuff. But as we got older, we grew closer and I fell deeply in love with him. That four letter word hadn’t come up yet between us, but I knew he felt the same way.
I couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend. He was the funniest, sweetest, most amazing guy ever. He knew when I wanted to talk and when to leave me alone. He was the only person who knew me as well as I knew myself. He could tell what I was thinking without me saying anything. I liked to say I could do the same. Nick was different around me… he was more outgoing, out spoken when it was just us. He called me his other half.
We walked hand in hand through the streets, talking every once in a while about nothing in particular, but mostly just enjoying the other’s company.
Comment away... please! :)
