[[[Chapter 1]]]
“Mom, Do I really have to go to this party? Everyone is going to be older then me, and we don’t even live in this town! We’re just here on vacation.” Morgan screamed to her mother from the bathroom in their hotel.
“Yes you need to go. You know that we both need to get out and meet new people, even if you’ll never see them again. It will do us both some good.” Her mother yelled back.
“fine.” Morgan agreed. She sulked out of the bathroom, grabbed her clutch and book, and left with her mom.
The two arrived at Dennen Country Club about 10 minutes later. Morgan was in no better of a mood. She exited the rental car and slammed its door. She and her mom entered the party and went their separate ways. Morgan to the teen’s party, her mother to the adult’s.
Morgan’s POV
I walked downstairs to find a large, noisy area filled with teenagers. It had a stage and a bunch of couches and chairs. I found a chair that was deserted and sat down. I pulled out my book Let’s Get Lost and started to read.
After a while I heard people getting louder. I looked around and heard there was a minute until the ball dropped. I rushed over to one of the big screen televisions and stood squashed between two people. I looked at the boy to my left. He was cute, but probably one of those rich, snobby kids that spent their summers here. He noticed me staring and looked down and smiled. I smiled back and then returned my stare to television screen.
“5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” everyone counted down! “Happy new year” Tila Tequila screamed from the TV. As I said, it was a room full of teenagers. The room went quiet as mostly everyone shared a new year’s kiss. I felt very awkward to be standing there, all alone, with no one to kiss on New Years Eve.
Soon, however, I felt someone reach over to me and pull me into a deep kiss. I didn’t have a clue who this boy was, but the kiss took control over me. I heard screaming around us, but we didn’t dare pull apart.
After we did pull apart, it was dark and I could barely make out the boys face. “hi.” He screamed over the noise coming from around.
“Umm, hi.” I said back.
“Come with me.” He said and grabbed my hand. He dragged me outside of the room where it had started to snow lightly. This was completely different from the California weather I usually experienced.
