Chapter 7

The next afternoon I stand behind the lobby desk of the Hotel I work at, answering questions from guest. The consent asking and answering of the same questions is really starting to wear down on my nerves.
“Again ma’am we don’t know when the power or the water will come back on. We’re very sorry for this inconvenience and the Hotel is willing to pay for the days you spend here without power or water.”
“Why isn’t the backup genitor working to at least give us power? I’m presuming that without water the Hotel Restaurant is closed.”
“Yes ma’am without water the staff is unable to work.”
“I have a huge business meeting there in a hour which is the hole reason I’m in town. What am I supposed to do huh?”
Someone save me please and just like God dropped him down from the heavens I spotted Kevin in back of the crowd of guest, we meant eye contact and he waved at me. I nodded back then said to the guest in front of me,
“Again we’re sorry.”
I turned to Anita who is next to me.
“Will you and Sarah be okay for a few minutes?”
Anita nodded and I walked from behind the desk and towards Kevin. Once I stood behind him I threw my arms around his next and hugged him behind.
“Man, am I glad to see you.”
I said Kevin turned around bringing me into his arms for a proper hug.
“Busy?”
He asked once we pulled away.
“The water company was working across the street this morning when the main pipe giving water to the black broke. The street was covered in water and one of they’re trucks crashed into the power line knocking out power to the whole block, good news is no one was hurt.”
I said and Kevin tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear.
“Tuff luck Cam, so does this mean you’re not able to take a lunch break?”
“I better cause when I don’t eat I get like that monster on that Chef Boy RD commercials and trust me they don’t want that.”
We both laughed.
“I’ll go check stay here.”
I walked away going over to my boss behind the lobby desk.
“Mrs. Lynch, am I needed here or can I take my lunch break?”
“We have everything under control here Camryn you can go to lunch.”
I nodded went back to punch that I was taking a lunch break then went back to my locker and grabbed my purse. I walked back out to the lobby to find Kevin talking to two girls whom look our ages and signing something for them. Look at them fluting all over him, can they be wearing any lesser clothes? Don’t get jealous girl technically Kevin and me aren’t together I’m still with Shane. Kevin spotted me excused himself and walked over to me.
“How long do we have?”
He asked.
“An hour so that’s now till.”
I looked at my watch.
“One-thirty.”
We left the Hotel and drove to the In And Out Burger; we got our food and took a seat outside on a bench. We sat eating and talking.
“Who was your first concert?”
Kevin asked me.
“Bon Jovi in ninety-nine.”
“Latest?”
“Christina Aguilera last year, I would have been able to say you guys but I came down with that stupid cold.”
“I remember meeting Tori at the meet and greet after the show. She said that her best friend was supposed to come with her but she came down with a cold. She asked us to sign something for you said that if we didn’t you’d kill her.”
I laughed classic Tori.
“Placed her in the Hospital not kill her, when she gave me that signed picture I screamed so loud even though my throat was killing me I still screamed. So loud the person living next to us knocked on our door asking if everything was okay.”
We both laughed then I looked at my watch.
“Wow it’s one-ten already I better be heading back to the Hotel.”
We left the In And Out Burger and headed back to the Hotel, when we pulled up in front of the Hotel I said,
“Thanks for lunch.”
“Your welcome listen are you doing anything tonight?”
He’s asking me out YES!
“Nope.”
“Can I take you out dinner?”
A smile spread across my face.
“Sure I get off at six.”
Kevin smiled.
“I’ll pick you up at seven thirty.”
I nodded and Kevin leaned over kissing my cheek. I got out of the car going back into the Hotel with the biggest and brightest smile on my face. Seven twenty five that night I sit in my living room waiting for Kevin, Tori had went out about an hour ago with Joe. I can’t let my nerves get the best of me, why am I so nervous? I wasn’t this nervous all weekend why now? The buzzer went off and I found out it was Kevin and let him up, a few moments later there was a knock at the door opening it I see Kevin standing on the other side in a pair of jeans, a dark blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and the first three buttons unbuttoned, with a pair of flip-flops on holding a bouquet of red Roses. “Wow Camryn you look beautiful.”
Kevin said and I cut him off.
“But a little too over dressed, come in while I change, I shouldn’t be long.”
Kevin walked into the apartment and I shut the door behind him then going to my room.
“What to wear?”
I asked myself, I look through my clothes picking out the outfit (Click http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n150/kcollins720/FanFic%20Research/CamyrnsOutfit3.jpg to see new outfit) I change then after changing shoes, my hair, my jewelry and purse (Click http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n150/kcollins720/FanFic%20Research/SequinSlingHoboBagPink.jpg to see purse) I walk out to the front part of the apartment to see Kevin coming from the kitchen with the bouquet of Roses in a vase of water.
“You didn’t have to do that.”
I said.
“Well I did it for you. You look beautiful as always.”
He said placing the flowers on the coffee table. I blushed.
“Thanks you look not to shabby yourself. Am I still too over dressed?”
Kevin smirked and popped his collar.
“Well you know how I do.”
I laughed.
“And your not too over dress it’s just perfect.”
I blushed even more.
“Come on before we build up your ego even more.”
“Hey I don’t have a big ego just a big sense of humor. Oh you might want to grab a jacket.”
I ran back to my room and grabbed my jacket (Click http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=outerwear&product%5Fid=2044978182&Page=all to see jacket), running back into the living room I grabbed Kevin’s hand leading him to the door opening it, locking it and going out to the hallway, shutting it.
“In a hurry are we?”
Kevin asked.
“Always to spend time with you and plus I’m starving.”
We both laughed left the apartment building and getting into Kevin’s car.

I agree with ^. They do sound adorable. Her apartment's going to look like a forest or a garden with all the flowers he's bring her. ;]

Chapter 9

I sighed placing my arm over my eyes.
“Do we really have to talk about Shane?”
I asked.
“Yes.”
Kevin said moving my arm from over my eyes.
“We meant three years ago when I was in town looking at apartments. We hung out all that week, knowing that it would be only a few months before I moved here we decided to stay in contact. When I moved here we started dating, Shane isn’t the typical boyfriend.”
“So I’ve heard.”
I chuckled at Kevin’s statement.
“We’ve kissed a total of three times and not those romantic, passionate kisses you see on TV and in the Movies and sometimes in real life. Just a quick peck on the lips, we’ve held hands twice maybe three and he’s held me once.”
“Sounds to me like he’s afraid to touch you.”
“That’s what everyone says and he’s never given me flowers.”
Kevin laughed.
“What?”
I asked looking over at Kevin.
“I guess the flowers I have given you in the past four days have pretty much blown his out of the water.”
We both laughed.
“You give me anymore and I’ll have a garden in my apartment. Anyway we don’t talk or see each other everyday once or twice a week. Whenever I call him I always get voicemail or the answering machine and I always leave a message and he rarely returns my calls. Whenever we do talk it’s more about him then me.”
“Are you serious?”
“As serious as a pimple on your wedding day. It’s just I’ve never had luck with boyfriends, back when I was in school and was dating every relationship I had lasted no longer then a week. I used to think it was me that something was wrong with me.”
“Are you joking? There isn’t anything wrong with you, any man would be lucky to have you as a girlfriend, your smart, funny, caring, kind, talented singer and very beautiful. Do I need to go on? Cause I can.”
Tears started to fill my eyes one slipped from my eye and it ran down my cheek. I sat up looking down at my lap trying to pull myself together. I will not cry, I will not cry, I will not cry.
“Hey.”
Kevin said I felt him sit up and his arm went around my shoulders placing my head on his chest.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to upset you.”
I shook my head no and pulled my head away wiping the tears from my face.
“I’m crying because no one’s ever I mean no one of the male gender besides my Dad has every said those things to me before. My god how many times have I said no ones ever said that to me before, I’m starting to sound like a broken record. God I’m pathetic.”
“No your not you just haven’t had any luck in the men department, which has nothing to do with you.”
“You probably feel sorry for me, aww look at the beautiful girl who can’t keep a man.”
I felt Kevin’s finger go under my chin lifting my head up to look at him.
‘No I don’t and that sentence has never crossed my mind. You want to know what I see when I look at you? I see a beautiful, smart, strong women, a women who has all the love in the world to give to everyone she comes in contact with. Everyone is meant for someone you just haven’t meant that someone yet and when you do you’ll know it.”
Now look at what I did way to go Miss Doom And Gloom, what a way to ruin the night.
“I’m sorry I hope I didn’t ruin the night.”
Kevin nudged me causing me to sway a little to my right.
“You kidding me this is the most fun I’ve had on a date in a long time. This whole weekend really has been the most I’ve had on dates in a long time.”
I smiled looking at Kevin.
“Me too.”
We stared at each other, the wind blew a piece of my hair in front of my face and Kevin reached forward and moved it away. Then he ran his index finger down my cheek, he moved in closer and when his lips finally meant mine I swear I could hear Angel’s singing. Corny I know but I feel like a Princess in a movie that finally gets to kiss her Prince charming. One of Kevin’s hand found the back of my neck and the other went around my waist pulling me closer, I wrapped my arms around his neck. Just like in the moves, on TV and sometimes-real life, the kiss is filled with passion. When we finally pulled away Kevin rested his forehead against mine.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for four days now.”
We both laughed and I started to run my fingers through the nap of Kevin’s hair at his neck, I can’t believe we just kissed.
“Me too.’
I said.
“I was afraid I reined the night by asking about Shane.”
I laughed.
“No you didn’t but if you did I would say that, that kiss made up for it.”
Kevin smiled leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine, when we pulled away Kevin looked at his watch. No I don’t want to go, lets stay here forever and evers.
“Ten o’clock already we better head back but I need to do two things first. One is that Saturday night we’re having a show it was just announced today.”
Kevin reached over unzipping the front zipper compartment of the cold cooler and pulled out an envelope.
“Here’s a ticket and a backstage pass, I want you to come. Joe’s giving Tori’s her’s tonight as well so you can go together.”
No way, oh my Jonas no way.
“Are you serious?”
Kevin nodded I threw myself into his arms knocking him back on his back with me on top of him. I kissed him and when I pulled away I said,
“Thank you, thank you.”
Kevin smiled and ran his fingers through my hair.
“Your welcome and the second thing I need to do is ask you this. Camryn will you be my girlfriend?”
Sweet hot potatoes am I dreaming? I can’t say anything all I’m doing is staring at Kevin.
“Camryn.”
Kevin said I shook my head and look down at Kevin with the biggest smile on my face.
“Yes Kevin I would love too.”
He smiled leaned up and kissed me.
“You have to break up with Shane you know that right?”
Kevin said when we pulled away, he’s right I have too.
“I will.”
We kissed one last time, then got up and started to pack everything up then went back to the car. We drove back to my apartment where once there I invited Kevin up for a few minutes. I just walked out of the kitchen into the living room with two mugs of hot chocolate when the phone rings. Seeing Shane’s name flashing on the caller ID I handed Kevin his mug of hot chocolate and said,
“That’s Shane I better do this now. I have no clue what I’m going to say so wish me luck.”
Kevin reached up and kissed me, grabbing the phone I went back to my bedroom.
“Hello.”
I said once I answered the phone.
“Camryn.’
Oh no he has that something’s wrong sound in his voice.
“What’s wrong Shane?”
I asked taking a seat on the edge of my bed.
“It’s Pete.”
“Pete as in Pete Brown your friend you work with him too right?”
“Yeah he was in a car accident here in Dallas. It’s not good the doctors don’t expect him to make it through the night.”
Oh no.
“Oh Shane I’m so sorry.”
“I don’t know what to do Camryn I wish you were here.”
Crap what do I do?
“Shane I wish I.”
Shane cut me off.
“I know you can’t get off of work at this such sort notice and I understand.”
“I really wish I could be there, if you need me jus call.”
“I will and I’ll keep you up to date. I love you.”
“Love you too.”
I hung up the phone and stared down at it, I have to face Kevin sooner or later. Getting up I took a deep breath and walked back out to the living room with a somber look on my face.
“Hey how’d it go? Oh that bad huh?”
Kevin said looking at me.
“Oh huh Kevin I.”
A sad, disappointed look crossed Kevin’s face then he asked,
“You didn’t break up with him did you Camryn?”
“No but Kevin.”
He looked down at the floor then placed his mug on the coffee table, stood up and walked over to me.
“It was fun and great while it lasted, take care Camryn.”
He kissed my cheek then walked away towards the door. What? No, where’s he going? He hasn’t let me explain.
“Kevin I.”
I said turning around but it was too late he was already out in the hallway and had just shut the door behind him.
