"Cael!" My mom called out to me, "Come on, sweetie. We have to go grab our bags!"
I teared my eyes away from the screaming crowd of girls, wanting to know who they were waiting for.
I hurried up to my mom and met her at the "carriage"sal, as I've always called it. Luckily for us, we found our bags. All of a sudden, the crowd of girls errupted in screams. What are they screaming about?! I thought.
"Cael!" I snapped my head towards my mom. "Common. Dad's waiting for us with the rental." I hauled my bag towards the exit, away from the screaming girls.
I sat down in the car, exhausted. "Sweetie," my dad said, "you can probably take a nap. The house is about an hour away from here." I smiled. I could use the nap. "Thanks dad." Instead of napping, I looked out the window to the odd surroundings around me. I then remembered the gifts that my friends gave me. I reached over and grabbed the bag along with the paper that Kate gave me. I opened Kate's first. I gently pulled the ribbon, and unrolled the paper. I gasped when I saw what was on it. It was the prettiest picture I'd ever seen. Kate is probably one of th best drawers I have ever met. I looked down at the drawing. It was a timeline, pictures of us as kids, and now, and during important moments of our lives, like when I got my license. There was a drawing of us, in Hefty, with me behind the wheel. I couldn't believe that she took all this time to draw this. In the very middle was a note that said, "Always Remember<3" My eyes teared up. I blew out my cheeks, refusing to cry.
I put the drawing to the side, taking a huge breath. I took Amiee's present and pulled out a little care package. In it, there was a note. "We'll miss you, love! Remember, you're our best!!!!!" I smiled. I looked at the care package. There were crayons, one of my favorite things in the world. Even better, it was the 64 pack, with the sharpener in the back. There was also a seashell necklace with an inscription on the back. It said, "Cake<3". Cake was our nickname for us. There used to be four of us, back when Eva was still living in Florida with us. All of our first initials spelled Cake. We were too cool for words. I put the necklace on, hoping it would bring me strength and luck. I placed everything back into the bag.
I sighed and looked out the window, trying to imagine my life without my best friends. I couldn't.
