Holding her head high Niki approached the front of the almost deserted classroom. She took one fleeting glance out of the giant window wishing she was at the beach with the rest of her friends. Niki drew her attention back to the audience as she cleared her throat. A couple of heads lifted from their wooden desks as Niki clutched the hot pink index cards that she wrote her speech on.

"Hi, I'm Niki Flask," She started nervously flipping a index card to reveal another that looked exactly the same. Niki looked up at the class to notice all eyes were on her. Public speaking was never her strongest subject, her palms began to sweat, and her throat became dry. 

"The Jonas Brothers."

"Losers," someone caughed in the back of the room. Niki instantly turned a shade of red as the whole class erupted in a fit of laughter. She fumbled turning the hot pink index cards again, she wouldn't dare to look up. 

"Mr. Bohne, please, nobody laughed at you when you did this speech on your favorite toe nail," Mrs. Carson interrupted lifting herself off the black computer chair she sat on. Niki smiled lightly at her summer-school Oral Communications teacher. 

"Continue, please," Mrs. Carson added as she leaned against the first desk in front of Niki.

"The Jonas Brothers are made up of three brothers named Revin, Joe, and Nick. Revin is twenty, making him the oldest brother. Joe is eighteen, making him the middle brother. Nick is fifteen, making him the youngest brother in the ba-." RING!  Niki sighed, she was saved by the bell.

"See you all tomorrow for our last day in class!" Mrs. Carson bellowed as Niki made her way back to her stuff. She stuffed the pink cards carelessly into her bag propping it up on her  right shoulder.

"Ms. Flask, you can finish your speech tomorrow," the teacher reminded as Niki made her way out of the classroom. 

"Alright," Niki supplied without turning around, she didn't want too. She got enough of that room, it wasn't easy sitting in it for two hours a day.

"How'd it go?" A small, high-pitched voice asked Niki, startling her. Niki sighed once again shaking her head at the petite figure that appeared next to her.

"Remind me never to have you write my speeches again," Niki retorted finally making a stop at an old rusted locker. 

"Oh c'mon, it wasn't that bad, was it?" 

"Bre, you wrote about the Jonas Brothers. What in the world possessed you to do that?" Niki shot back again. It was bad enough she had to endure the class in the first place, but this was just pushing it to the limit.

"I like the Jonas Brothers," Bre explained as she adjusted the neon green purse she had hanging off her shoulder. 

"Sorry,"  Bre shrugged.

"I mean, they are hot, but what kind of name is Revin?" Niki questioned as the two girls made their way out of the crowded hallway. They pushed the large black metallic door the shielded them from the bright, sunny day.

"Revin?" 

"You know, the oldest one," Niki explained pulling out her car keys. 

"You mean Kevin?" Bre laughed throwing her head back.

"His name is Kevin? Oh my God, I probably looked like an idiot."

"It's not that hard to achieve," Bre joked.
