sooo i have pretty much an idea of what i want to do with this story, and i pretty much have a sequel in mind if i can finish it =) anyway, be honest and tell me what you think;; if i dont have many readers i might not continue, but then again i just need a few commited ones. my other fic had a severe case of writers block and is on way hiatus until i decide to continue, ilike this one better anyway;; much more low key. soo here it is:
“This song goes out to that special girl” Joe said into his microphone as the music began to play.
It was a cover of James Taylor, and the girls in the audience began to scream. Joe knew that most of the girls there were so young they probably didn`t know what he was about to sing, but because he said special girl, he knew that they all secretly thought it was them. Joe knew who it was for. That girl, that one special girl he spent that one special summer with two years ago. They had a break in their tour, so the boys decided to spend the summer in North Carolina with their step-grandfather. He lived in an amazing house that was similar to one from the old southern country days.
“In my mind i`m goin’ to Carolina. Can`t you feel the sunshine, can`t you just feel the moonshine..” with each word that he sang he pictured her face with her glowing smile, hoping that he would one day see her again.
Girls were screaming and swaying their arms, some even opened their cell phones to create light, and little sang along to the song.
“`goin to Carolina in my mind, gone.. i`m gone.” He ended the song softly and with a slight grin on his face.
Everyday and every night since that summer, Joe would fall asleep looking at the only picture he had of her.
--*Flashback*--
“Joe stop!” she laughed as Joe ran after her through the field.
“You better run faster, i`m catching up!” he shouted back at her.
Soon Joe was right behind her, he grabbed her by her waist and threw her down on top of him.
“Joe!” she managed to get out through her giggles and squeals.
He knew that tickles were her weakness and she was laughing endlessly. Finally he let go and she moved next to him in the field. They were silent until Joe interrupted their moment.
“Look at that one Tina, it looks like a dinosaur” he said laughing as the clouds floated by.
“No it doesn`t, you just have an obsession with dinosaurs” she laughed back at him.
“Whatever, no I don`t. How do you not see it?”
“What if I were a dinosaur?” she questioned him jokingly.
“Then I would love you forever” he said turning on his side to look at her.
Tina was unsure of what to say and didn`t realize that he had been staring at her. Hearing those words sent chills through her skin. Closing her eyes to take in the gorgeous summer breeze, she was stunned when she opened them to see Joe leaning over her.
“Are you okay?” she asked him. Curious as to why he decided to block her view of the clouds floating by.
He didn`t say anything and just smiled. Tina decided that this moment shared together was rather amusing and began laughing at him. Joe still remained smiling, still saying nothing. Instead he leaned into her and she felt the warm caress of his lips to hers. Tingles went through her spine and all she could do was smile. Joe finally released and lay back down to look at the sky. He moved his hand closer to her and she did the same; and they kept silent holding hands until the night sky began to show through.
--*End Flashback*--
The picture Joe had been staring into was taken the same day they shared their kiss. He hadn`t kissed a girl since, and often lingered on the memory that still remained of her in his heart. He wished on a star every night through the tour bus window, hoping that one day he would be able to stare into her deep brown eyes and run his fingers through her soft brown hair again. He knew he had to see her again… someday.
“Still dreaming Joe?” Kevin interrupted as he walked back to his bunk.
“The dream will be real again one day Kevin, you wait and see. I`ll find her” he uttered back to him, inhaling and exhaling deeply at the thought of not being with her.
“Hey we just got the rest of the tour venues in” Nick spoke to them as he walked back to his bunk.
“Whatever,” Joe mumbled as he started to drift into a sleep. Little did Joe know, Nick knew what the venues would mean to Joe. There could be a glimpse of hope for the heartbroken rockstar.
