"Daddy."I heard from the door of the studio and I quickly looked up to Madison standing there.
"Maddie what are you doing up?"I asked as I sat my guitar down.
"I woke up and you weren't there."She said softly as she walked towards me"And I heard the music coming from down here."
"Oh well I'm sorry."I said softly as I helped her crawl into my lap.
"Was that song about Mommy?"She asked as she laid her head on my chest and looked up at me.
I took a deep breathe before I slowly nodded my head.
"Yeah sweety it is."I said softly.
"I think it's beautiful."She said with a toothy grin as she gave me a quick hug"I miss mommy."
I felt my breathe catch in my throat as she said that and I felt tears coming to my eyes,She was barely old enough to remember Abbi she just knows the stories that I told her.I quickly brushed them away before she could see before I gave her a small smile.
"So do I."I said sofly"But you know what."
"What?"She asked.
"Mommy's in heaven right now."I said softly"And she's watching over us."
"That's what uncle Nick said."She said with a little smile.
I smiled a little and nodded my head.
"Well it's true."I said softly as I stood up her still in my arms"Now what do you say we go back to bed."
She nodded her head a little before she laid it on my shoulder and slowly closed her eyes again.I slowly headed back up the stairs and to my room.
~Joe's POV~
~Earlier that night~
"I'm telling you Ari I think he really likes this girl and he's just afraid to admit it."I said softly as I crawled into bed next to her.
"Joe don't play match maker."She said softly as she scooted over and put her head on my chest"Your going to have to give him time...I mean he did just lose his wife three years ago."
"I know."I said softly sighing as I looked up at the ceiling"It's just I hate seeing him so alone like this and I know that Abbi wouldn't have wanted him to stay single for the rest of his life."
"I know you do."She said softly as she gently kissed my chin"But you need to give him time to figure things out by himself."
I nodded my head as I smiled at her and then leaned over shutting off the light before I felt her lay back next to me.I wrapped my arms around her and closed my eyes as I slowly fell asleep.
~Kevin's POV~
I woke up bright and early the next morning and made sure that I had everything that we would need.I heard a car honk outside and I looked out to see Joe parked in the driveway.I walked downstairs so that I could let him in.
"Where's the munchkin?"He asked once him and Ari were inside of the house.
"She's upstairs asleep."I said shutting the door behind them"I didn't want to wake her up until we left."
"Oh ok."Joe said nodding his head"Niki here yet?"
I shook my head a little.
"No she should be here any minute now though."I said looking at my watch.
About that time the doorbell rang.I raised my eyebrow and laughed a little before I walked over to the door and opened it to reveal Niki standing there with a smile on her face.
"Morning."She said.
"Morning."I said giving her a small smile as I let her into the house.
"Hi."Joe said"Niki I'd like to introduce you to my wife Ari,Ari this is Niki Madison's new nanny."
"It's nice to meet you."Ari said holding her hand out with a little smile.
"You too."Niki said smiling as she took her hand and shook it.
"Daddy."I heard Madison yell.
"May I?"Niki asked as se pointed towards the stairs.
"Uh go ahead."I said softly"She's in the second door on the right."
Niki smiled a little before she headed up the stairs.I watched her as she did with a little smile on my face but it soon faded when I heard Madison crying and yelling for me.
I quickly ran up the stairs to see Niki standing there trying to talk with her but Madison wasn't really listening.
"Maddie what's wrong?"I asked as I walked over and picked her up.
"I wanted you."She said softly as she looked at Niki"Who is she?"
"That Madison would be your new nanny."I said softly"She's going to be helping me watch you while she's on tour."
Madison looked at Niki and then back at me.
"But I just want you to watch me."She said softly.
"I know sweetheart but I'm not going to be able to be with you all the time."I said softly"But Niki will."
Niki gave her a small smile.
"I'm sure we'll have lots of fun."She said softly"I even brought you a few presents."
Madisons face lit up at the sound of presents I watched as she slowly started to squirm as she tried to get out of my arms.I slowly set her down and watched as she walked over to Niki taking her hand before they headed off down the stairs.
