Chapter 13
Cristy sadly walked up to the front door of her house dissapointed that he didn't even remember to call her and tell her before hand that he couldn't go. As soon as she walked in the door her sister, Alexa imetally asked questions. "Why are you so early? What happened? I want to know everything! So...... did he kiss you? Oh yeah, and what did he say?!"
Cristy sat down glumly, ignoring Alexa's annoying questions. "What happened?" She said more calmly as she sat next to Cristy. "Are you all right?" Cristy sighed. "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just that Nick couldn't go. He had a concert." Alexa looked up at Cristy. "Why didn't he call you, then?"
"He said he forgot. Alexa, it's not that big of a deal." Cristy said standing up, walking to the kitchen. "But what if it is." Alexa said following Cristy. "I mean, what if he just made that whole concert thingy up. What if he's cheating on you! What if he already has a date with another girl! And then......" Cristy laughed. "He's not dating another girl! And tecniclly, we're not even together."
"That's what you think, but when you find out that Nick's dating some celeberty girl in some teen magazine, don't come crying to me!" Alexa said holding up a teen magazine. "Look, it says right here that Miley Cyrus was flirting with Nick at one of their recent shows." Alexa pointed at the artical. "What show?" Cristy asked.
"It says right here, at one of the Jonas Brothers recent concerts with Hannah Montannah (or Miley Cyrus) she was flirting with Nick." Cristy rolled her eyes. "That's just a rumor!" But as soon as she said that her parents came down the stairs from their room and said, "What's 'just a rumor'?" Cristy looked at Alexa. "Don't say anything!" She whispered. "Mabey you should tell them the truth." Alexa whispered back. "Not now, but mabey I should, later."
"Oh yeah, and remember, don't say a word." Cristy whispered. "Why not?! I'm not that bad of a lier." Alexa whispered to her. "So?" Their parents said. "What are you talking about?"
"Ummm," Alexa began. "We're just looking at a magazine." Cristy picked up the magazine. "Yep, it's full of rumors. That's why I said, 'Its full of rumors.' That's all."
"Oh, okay." Her Mom said. "Well, I'm going to bed. Good night, girls. Don't stay up too late." As her Mom and Dad walked up the stairs Cristy let out a deep breath. "See! I told you I'm not that bad of a lier!" Alexa protested. "That's because that wasn't a lie!" Cristy shot back. "What you said happened to be true!" Alexa folded her arms.
"I suppose now would be a good time to tell your parents the real truth." Alexa said giving no indication she wasn't mad at Cristy. She gets so mad easily. Cristy thought. "Well," Alexa said. "Are you going to try to talk to Mom and Dad again and end up making another lie?" Yep, she's mad.
"Well, I should. It's just that, what will they think? I don't want them to be mad that I lied and get grounded." Cristy said. Alexa took Cristy's hand and looked up at her. "Cristy, they won't be mad. They'll be sad. They'll be sad their own child lied to them. Sure, they might get mad that you didn't tell them, but for the most part, they'll be sad." Alexa said. Alexa's words melted into Cristy's mind. Will they really be that sad? She thought.
