Chapter Eight
Dream/Flashback
I walked out of the bathroom and back to the table where Garbo was sitting.
“Garbo, I need to tell you something” I said
“what?” he asked looking up at me
“I want to break up” I said
He looked at me shocked and confused
“but I want to stay friends” I said
“why so you wanna break up?” he asked hurt
“because…umm…” I started
“it’s because of Joe, isn’t it?” he asked
“maybe” I said
“so it is” he said
“well, I’ve always had feelings for him” I said
“I see” he said standing up he then took his Oreo Blizzard and poured it onto my head. I screeched as the cold hit my head. He then walked out of the restaurant and I walked back to the bathroom
“how’d it… go?” Abby asked as she turned to face me “what happened?”
“Garbo poured his Blizzard on me” I said
“can you blame him?” she asked
“no” I said
I woke up to Nick and Garbo whispering. I listened intently.
“so you think she’s in love with Joe?” I heard Nick ask
“I know so” Garbo said “it’s okay dude”
“man” Nick said I heard the door open and close. I sat up and Garbo was standing there
“morning” I said
“morning” he said “how’d you sleep?” he asked
“good” I said stretching
“everyone is downstairs eating” he said
“k” I said getting out of bed I went into the bathroom and got dressed, I walked out of the room to the elevators. I pushed the down button and waited. Finally after what felt like an hour, the elevator doors opened and of course what did I see, Joe and Kailey making out
“whoa” I said and they broke apart and walked off the elevator
“hey, Nicole” Joe said as he passed me
“hey Joe” I said as I walked onto the elevator, I pushed the ‘L’ button and the doors closed and the elevator moved down. When it got to the lobby I got off the elevator and walked to the restaurant and found the others
“morning” I said sitting down
“morning” I heard from multiple people
“sleep well?” Mrs. Jonas asked
“yea” I said
I ate quietly. Nick, Kevin and Garbo left in deep discussion, I knew they were talking about me but I didn’t know why. When I finished eating I decided to walk around a little and I somehow ended up at the room again, but my key wasn’t working, so I knocked. The door opened, it was a messy haired Joe. I backed up and looked at the room number. I smacked my forehead
“oops, wrong room” I said
“oh” he said laughing a little
“bye” I said
“see ya” he said closing the door
I walked across the hall and opened the door. Nick, Kevin and Garbo were still in deep discussion but stopped when I came in. I walked into the bathroom without saying anything. When I closed the bathroom door they began talking again, but I didn’t feel like listening so I took a shower, got redressed and did my hair and make-up. I walked out of the bathroom. I was about to open the door to leave when somebody knocked. I opened the door
“hey Joe” I said
“hey” he said coming, I closed the door behind him, as he walked over to the other guys “hey guys” he said
“hey” they said. I stood there deciding to leave or stay. Then I heard Kailey on the other side of the door. I put my ear to the door
“guys come here” I said. They all got up and all 5 of us put our ears against the door
“I can’t believe Joe still thinks that I’m actually dating him, he’s so gullible” I heard Kailey say “don’t worry baby, I still love you, well I gotta go, Joe will be wondering where I went”
I stood up straight, and the guys did the same
“ha, I told you” I said to Garbo as Joe walked over to one of the beds and sat down with a blank stare
“Joe?” I asked walking over to him. The other 3 followed me
“I heard it, I just can’t believe it” Joe said. He stood and walked over to the door
“where are you going?” I asked
“to talk to Kailey” Joe said opening the door “hey Kailey” he said before he closed the door behind himself. I looked at the other 3 guys and we ran to the door and put our ears against it
“I know the real reason you’re dating me” I heard Joe say
“what do mean?” Kailey asked
“you’re only dating me because I’m rich and famous” he said
“so?” Kailey said
“so, I’m breaking up with you” joe said
“okay, whatev” she said
“I’ll get you a plane ticket for tonight” he said
“whatever” she said “I guess I’ll just go pack”
“k” Joe said. I looked through the peep hole
“joe’s coming” I said “everybody look casual”
We ran and sat on the bed and looked at the t.v. Joe knocked
“coming!” Kevin called as he got up and opened the door
“what’re you guys doing?” Joe asked as he came in
“watching t.v.” I said He looked at the t.v.
“the t.v’s not on” he said
“that would explain it” I said
“I know you guys were listening” he said sitting on the bed next to me his eyes watering
“I’m sorry” I said giving him a hug
“no I am” he said putting his arm around me
“why?” I asked looking up at Joe
“we’ll just leave” Kevin said getting up and walking over to the door and opening it “come on guys” he said to Garbo and Nick. They both got up and walked out the open door. I looked at Joe as Kevin closed the door behind himself
“why?” I asked again
“because, I should have believed you when you told me yesterday” he said looking at his hands
“it’s okay” I said “I can’t believe I actually thought that you would just believe me, I mean she was your girlfriend”
“I guess” he said ”which reminds me” he said getting up “I have to get her a plane ticket he found Kevin’s laptop and turned it on as he sat back down
“ugh… hurry up” he said. I smiled
“be patient” I said
“I can’t” he said
“I know” I said. He looked at me and smiled. He looked back at the laptop
“finally” he said he was on the computer for a couple minutes
“here we go” he said
I looked at the screen “first class” I asked
“hey I’m not that mean “ he said
“I know” I said “it’s just…she is”
”whatever Nicole” Joe said and he clicked the ‘get’ button “okay, I have to go tell her” he said standing up “stay here, I’ll be back in a little bit”
“okay” I said. He left the room. I laid back on the bed. ‘now what?’ I asked myself
