| It Started At The Movies (a mostly Joe fanfic) making a comeback? |

Yeah, so never make the mistake of mentioning you had an idea for a fic around Ashlynn. Because she'll be EVIL until you post it.
So yeah, this is my Joe fic. And for those of you who know me, wow, I know. Such a change from Kevin!
And, um, yeah, my name is Ashley in this fic too. Simply because I don't feel like thinking of a name for myself, because I'd just confuse myself.
Prologue
“Okay guys, we have three weeks before touring starts back up,” Paul Jonas said, looking at a map laid before him and his three sons, Kevin, Joe, and Nick. “We start back in Mississippi, so it makes sense to find a small town in that state and just stay there.”
Joe, Nick, and Kevin nodded their heads. As happy as they were for a break, they really hated they didn’t have a real home to go to. Since everywhere they “lived” was either hounded by girls at all times, or in Hollywood, which was just scary.
“What about…” Joe said as he perused the map. “here?” He pointed at a random spot on the Mississippi map, and everyone agreed. Though they knew nothing about the place, it was better than nothing, right?
Ashley pulled her dark brown hair into a ponytail and sighed. Sometimes she hated her job at the movie theater. When it was busy, time went by fast. But on days like today, when the only people there were her, an usher, and her boss, Dani, eyeing the clock became her favorite pastime.
Wiping the counter off with cleaning spray and paper towels, she groaned. When nobody answered her, she just sat down on the chair behind the concessions counter.
She wished for once something interesting would happen in her all too boring life.

actually, i live about 10 miles or so from a lake, so he could have, but they decided on the town near the lake. ;)
i read saving! amazing as always!

Now maybe Ashlynn will let me go to sleep.
Somehow I doubt it.
Chapter One
It being the weekend, things naturally got faster paced at the movie theater. Though the cinema was rather small, it could pack a crowd on weekends when there was a movie everyone wanted to see. This just so happened to be one of those weekends, and Ashley was scheduled to work all day on every day of this weekend. Joy.
It didn’t help that her co-concessionist was Mandy. Ashley had no problem with Mandy. On the contrary, she loved Mandy. They always had a way of making each other laugh with their insane randomness. But laughing and having a good time didn’t make them any less busy. So even though they had a lot more fun than when partnered up with other people, they got behind a lot quicker.
Ashley was also great friends with one of the ushers that was working that weekend. Jazzlyn, (who everyone called Jazz) had gotten a job the same day Ashley did, so they went through training together. When they watched the training videos, Jazz was so funny mocking the videos that Ashley knew she had to be friends with this girl.
The theater was a close-knit group, and everyone knew each other. Ashley loved the smallness of it, but at the same time, wished it were bigger and more exciting. She dreamed of being in a big city where things changed by the second, not at a snail-like pace.
As she raced to fill orders for popcorn and drinks, and listened to customers complain, (hey, she knew prices were crazy, but she didn’t set them, so would you please get off her back?) a strange feeling overtook her. It was as if she knew something major was going to happen in her life soon, but she couldn’t for the life of her figure out what.
“There’s NOTHING to do here!” Joe whined for the fiftieth time that day. They’d arrived in the small town Joe picked early that morning, and after driving down “the boulevard” for the tenth time, Joe was exasperated.
“You couldn’t even pick a town with a STARBUCKS!” Kevin said. “Way to go, Joe!”
“It’s not my fault!” Joe quickly piped up.
“Is too!” Kevin said, grumpy from his lack of coffee. How he was going to survive these three weeks was beyond him. He began to text his girlfriend, Ashlynn, to tell her all about his troubles.
“Okay, so it is my fault.” Joe said, after Nick just looked at him. He too was texting his girlfriend of three months, Nat. Joe, not having anyone to text, just pouted. As they drove down the road that branched off from the boulevard, they passed a small movie theater.
“HEY WAIT!” Joe said, jumping in his seat. “We can go see a movie!”
Everyone seemed excited about this, and as they went back to the hotel to find disguises (just in case) Joe couldn’t help but feel that maybe he’d picked an okay place after all.

so i go to bed.
and i'm in my big, soft, fluffy, super comfortable bed with the covers up to my chin and the heater on....
and i can't sleep.
because i felt the super urge to write a chapter of "your words are deadly weapons"
so i had to get up and do it.
i probably won't post it tonight, but it's written.
so now since i obviously can't sleep, i'm going to write a chapter of waiting and movies, and so tomorrow i can update all three at once.
whew.

Chapter Two
“The popcorn’s burnin’ up, burnin’ up, but I got it!” Ashley sang to herself. She laughed as she realized she’d adapted a Jonas Brothers song to suit her needs. Ever since she got the newest album, which had been out for since Tuesday, she’d worked on committing the songs she hadn’t heard before to memory. “Burnin’ Up” was one of her favorites on the album, just because it was an amazing dance song. She really loved all of the songs though. She felt as if nothing those boys did could be bad.
“What are you laughing about, Ash?” Dani asked as she came down from upstairs. Dani was the world’s nicest but busiest manager as she shuffled scheduling, maintaining product lists, and running the movies all by herself. Ashley volunteered on many occasions to help her do paperwork, but Dani always refused her help. Even though she was busy, Dani always had time to talk to her employees.
“Nothing,” Ashley said. “Just thinking about the Jonas Brothers.”
“You and those Jonas Brothers!” Dani said, shaking her head. “Hon, you’re obsessed!”
“I prefer passionate, thank you!” Ashley replied, joking.
“Yeah yeah!” Dani said, laughing. She looked at her watch and sighed. “I’ve got to go start a movie. Please sweep the floor, it looks like a tornado struck it.” Ashley looked down and realized Dani was right.
Maybe she shouldn’t have done the S.O.S. dance with the popcorn scoop in her hand.
As the Jonas brothers (minus Frankie) got out of the car rented for Kevin to drive, they realized just how small the theater they were parked at was. It only held four screens, which to them was miniscule.
“Wow.” Joe said as they walked up to the box office. “So many options.”
“Shutup, Joe,” Kevin said, grouchy. Not even Ashlynn could calm him down, though he’d been furiously texting her about the lack of Starbucks all day.
“Ouch, Mr. Cranky is gonna hurt me!” Joe said, before punching Kevin in the arm and running away. Nick just shook his head and laughed. He was far too used to this behavior to make a comment. Besides, Nat just texted him, and he needed to sound like he was happy, so he wouldn’t make her upset.
“Um, three for whatever movie is about to come on!” Joe said when they reached the box office. The man at the box office looked bored, but nodded his head as he printed three tickets when Joe handed over the money.
They walked in, and handed their tickets to the only usher in sight. She told them the way to their movie (not that it would have been hard to find) and they walked toward the concessions booth. There were two girls behind it. One was sitting on a chair, looking at her nails, the other holding a broom, sweeping the floor. Joe laughed as he caught a few words of what the girl with the broom was mouthing.
“I’m sweeping all of the floor now, and it will be so clean! Baby the floor will look so pretty. I’m sweepin’, sweepin’ up for you baby.”
When she heard laughter, the girl with the broom turned around and blushed. “Oh, um, can I help you guys?”
Joe just kept laughing, while Kevin and Nick just stood there. Well she’s interesting, Joe thought, as he stepped forward to order popcorn, sodas, and pretty much every candy available.
