Chapter 8
That night at the club went by perfectly, or at least that’s what Becka thought of it. To her, it was almost like a wonderful fairytale. She wore her cutest and skimpiest outfit to the club, and on stage, she danced her heart out. She twirled around the pole gracefully and seductively. The guys who were watching her hollered and whistled, throwing money at her. She smiled sweetly at each of them, though her eyes were on Derik almost the entire time. He was right beside the stage, watching her with a huge grin on his face. There was nothing more she could have asked for. She never wanted it to end.
Of course, her show had to come to an end as the next girl walked out on stage, but that was not near the end of the night for her. After her performance, she immediately rushed back out into the crowd of people to find Derik. She ignored all the looks and whistles that followed her as she pushed her way through. Her only goal was to find the guy she had been dancing for that night. Finally, she found him beside the bar.
“Hey,” she said, sitting on a stool beside him and ordering herself a drink.
“Hey,” he replied. He was still smiling brightly. “You were amazing tonight.”
“Thanks.” She could feel her cheeks burning, and the smile on her face was stretching from ear to ear. She had never felt so happy. The bartender returned with her drink, and she took a small sip of it. “I’m glad you were able to come.”
“I’m glad I came too,” he replied, and Becka just blushed even more. “How about you show me some of your dance moves on the floor?” He asked, standing up and holding out his hand.
“I would love to,” she replied and stood up, grabbing his hand. He dragged her out into the middle of the dance floor. The rest of the night passed by quicker then Becka had expected. They spent their time dancing, laughing, and drinking, pressed up against each other because of the huge crowd around them. But, neither of them complained. Before they knew it, it was almost 4 in the morning, and they were both exausted.
Derik drove Becka home, even though she had told him many times that she could take the bus, but she wasn’t complaining. Her cheeks were still flushed from all the dancing, and the car ride was quiet, but it was a comfortable quiet. She looked out the window at all the city lights and sighed happily.
As they got to her apartment, Derik walked her up, acting like a gentleman.
“I had so much fun tonight. We should do this again sometime,” Becka said, as she fumbled with her keys to open her door. She was slightly drunk, so she was having problems finding the right one.
“Yeah, it would be great. Or, we could –“ Derik started to say, the leaned forward and kissed Becka. She immediately responded and deepened the kiss, running her hands through his shaggy brown hair. He pushed her up against the door as she kept on fumbling with her keys, trying to open her door. She finally was able to open it and they both stumbled in to the room, still kissing, slamming the door shut behind them.
The next morning, Becka woke up in her room, the light shining in brightly through the window. She heard a light grunt and some shuffling beside her. She looked over to see Derik sleeping soundly beside her. She smiled as she remembered the events of the previous night. She looked back out the window and thought, You see Kathley. I don’t need to change my life. It’s perfect just the way it is.
I'm sorry if it took so long, and I'm sorry if this isn't the greatest chapter, but I've just been extremely busy lately and I have had absolutely no free time to work on my fanfics. I promise I'll try my hardest to update more regularly (after Kary posts her chapter, of course).
Thank you so much for all of your comments! Keep them coming!
Love you all!
