Okay I wrote this fanfic for a few reasons:
1. I love this song. It makes me cry everytime I hear it you should go listen to it.
2. I wanted to make it up to Keiko so HERE YOU GO!
Song: Walking Her Home-Mark Schultz
Walking Her Home
I smiled at her as I held her hand. It had been a long time since our first date, but I still saw it as clear in my mind as if it was yesterday.
Looking back
He sees it all
It was her first date the night he came to call
“Be sure to have her home by 7.” Keiko’s dad said sternly. “DAD!” Keiko said hitting him playfully. “Don’t worry sir, 7 sharp.” I said smiling. A smile crept onto his face. “Have fun Keiko.” Her dad said. I grasped her hand as we headed towards the door. Suddenly, I felt Keiko’s dad put his hand on my shoulder. “Promise me you won’t leave her side.” He said. Not in a mean way, but more desperate to not let anything happen to her. I nodded. I’d die before I let anything happen to her.
“So where are we going?” Keiko asked me smiling sweetly. I smiled back at her. “There’s a show in the park tonight.” I explained. “Sounds great.” Keiko said resting her head on my shoulder as we began to walk towards the park.
Her dad said son
Have her home on time
And promise me you'll never leave her side
He took her to a show in town
And he was ten feet off the ground
“I had a great time tonight.” Keiko said as we were walking back to her house. I grasped her warm hand in mine. Everything about Keiko, her charm, her beautiful smile just took my breath away. “The stars are beautiful tonight.” Keiko said smiling. “Yeah, so are you.” I said kissing her cheek. I knew at that exact moment I was in love.
As he was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him
Down that old road
With the stars up above
He remembers where he was the night he fell in love
He was walking her home
~*~*~*~TEN YEARS LATER~*~*~*~
“Nicholas Jonas.”
I stood up. I was anxious to know what had happened. “How is she?” I asked the doctor desperately. The doctor smiled at my anxiousness. “You have a son.” I felt a tear roll down my cheek as I walked into the recovery room.
Ten more years and a waiting room
At half past one
So when the doctor said come in and meet your son
My knees were shaking as the doctor led me into the room. I smiled when I saw Keiko holding our new born son. I rushed over to her and saw our new curly haired little boy. “He has your eyes.” Keiko said sweetly. I kissed her forehead softly. “I love you.” “I love you too.” She said softly.
His knees went weak
When he saw his wife
She was smiling as she said he's got your eyes
I climbed into the bed next her as the doctor took the baby back into the other room. I held Keiko tightly as she slept. She had to be exhausted. As she slept in my arms, my mind went back to that first night.
And as she slept he held her tight
His mind went back to that first night
He was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh the way she smiled it stole the breath right out of him
Down that old road
With the stars up above
He remembers where he was the night he fell in love
He was walking her home
~*~*~*~60 YEARS LATER~*~*~*~
He walked her through the best days of her life
Sixty years together and he never left her side
“How’s Mrs. Jonas doing tonight?” The nurse asked the doctor. The doctor shook his head. “Worse. I’m afraid this’ll be her last night.” The nurse let out a small gasp. “Should we tell Mr. Jonas now, or wait till morning?” The nurse asked. The doctor shook his head. “I don’t know. It’s such a shame. She’s such a sweet old lady.” The nurse nodded.
A nursing home
At eighty-five
And the doctor said it could be her last night
And the nurse said Oh
Should we tell him now
Or should he wait until the morning to find out
“Nick it’s time.” I looked down at Keiko as she smiled weakly. “It’s time for me to go home.” A tear rolled down my cheek. “Don’t leave me Keiko.” “Nick we’ve had 60 wonderful years together. Now my Dad is taking me home.” Keiko said smiling weakly.
I stroked her face as a tear rolled down my cheek. “Mind if I walk you home?” Keiko smiled weakly. “Of course.” I crawled into bed beside her. “This isn’t the end.” I told her. She smiled. I love her so much.
But when they checked her room that night
He was laying by her side
Oh he was walking her home
And holding her hand
Oh the way she smiled when he said this is not the end
And just for a while they were eighteen
And she was still more beautiful to him than anything
He was walking her home
He was walking her home
Now as I grasped her limp hand, I was filled with both sorrow and contentment. Sorrow because I knew she was gone, contentment because I knew she was home.
