Ok, here it is FINALLY!!
Part Two!
She lay on the sidewalk, bugs crawling over her dried blood. The scars of a lifetime came bearing down on her as she got ran over by the bus. The memories she had with her families crashed down on her. The first birthday, the one where she had her face pushed into her birthday cake by her father. The day she came back from the hospital, with a broken leg, and everyone signed her case. And then the other romantic days, the one where she went to her first movie with a boy. She had been so nervous, thinking that he would hate the way she curled her hair nicely and picked out her favorite outfit. The way she had also gone into that theater and held his warm, sweaty hand and prayed that it could not get more awkward. The other time, when she had been dropped off at her house by her first boyfriend, when he had clasped his shaking hand with hers, and told her that he hoped they could be together forever. And then he leaned forward and gave the sloppiest first kiss ever. The fact was that the boy didn’t matter, and neither did the way he hoped they could last, and broken up with her the next day, what mattered was what was happing right now, in this moment.
She listened to the sirens come closer and closer, until they felt like they were about two feet outside the huge mass of bus. She could also see the light coming out from under pile she was in. She thought for a moment, why did she do this? The horror of getting run over was still in her system. Had all of the pressures of the world caused her to do this, but really, her boyfriend had broken up with her and that was it, why had she done this to begin with? The fear gripping her sides started to hurt even more. The pain shot from her legs to her head, she was sure she had broken many of her bones.
The sound of people getting out of cars, and shoes hitting gravel filled her ears. And suddenly she heard talking.
“Joe, was that a girl.” Some boy said in voice that signaled he was around fourteen through sixteen.
“Yeah, it was, why would she do that, do you think she’s alive under there?” She assumed was Joe, since he was talking.
“I really do hope so, and maybe she just had a lot on her mind,” the thoughtful teenage boy said.
“Yea, me to, and I’m going to go under there,” Joe said, walking toward the heap of bus.
“What, Joe, do not go under there,” another voice ran out of the sudden silence, this one a little bit older sounding.
“But I want to, just to see the person,” Joe whinned, clearly wanting some adventure, “Maybe I can get her out.”
“Ok, fine, I don’t care what you do, just be safe,” the older voice said again.
“Sure, of course,” Joe said, and then began to crawl under the bus. “Hello? Anyone there?”
The boy was underneath the bus, crawling through the shards of glass, and twisted metal, and she almost didn’t want to answer, yet for fear of her live got the best of her, “Yes,” she squeaked out.
“Are you there?” the boy called again, probably not hearing the pitiful whisper.
“Yea,” she said a little more loudly.
“Wow,” was all Joe could say, he pulled out the pocket flashlight he had with him, and investigated the area she was laying in. “You are pretty banged up.”
“Yes, I kinda noticed,” she said, turning her head towards the face of Joe.
“So, what’s your name,” Joe said, while messing with a piece of glass, unaware that it could, and probably would cut him.
“Claudia, and I’m assuming your Joe, by the conversation you and your friends were having,” Claudia said, staring at Joe’s lack of carefulness with the glass.
“Cool, and you were right about my name, but those were my brothers outside, Kevin is the older one, and Nick is the younger one,” Joe said.
“That’s interesting, and you are going to cut yourself playing with that glass,” Claudia said, pointing at the glass. She spoke to late, and watched as the sharp glass cut through his delicate skin, making him utter a cry of pain.
“Wow, you were right,” Joe said, staring at the flood of blood escaping his finger, “Well, at least I’m not as hurt as you.”
“You are a lucky person,” Claudia said, faking sympathy. “Here, let me fix it.”
She carefully ripped a piece off the bottom of her shirt, and tried to tie it around his hand.
“You’re good at that,” Joe said, looking affectionately at her.
“If you stopped squirming, then I could get it on,” Claudia said clearly annoyed.
Joe stopped moving, and watched her fingers dance around his hand, softly pulling the cloth around. “Thanks.”
She gave it a final tug, and let go. “Your welcome, try to be more careful next time.”
“Yes mom,” Joe said a small, bright smile emerged on his face.
They talked for a while, until Joe thought it was time to help pull her out from under the heap.
Later
After going to the hospital, and making sure she was mentally stable, and wouldn’t try to hurt herself again, she was let out. Joe was waiting for her and together they conquered all of the hardships of their lives. Now everyone could see her.
