I’ll Always Love You
We don’t have time left to regret (hold on)
It will take more than common sense (hold on)
So stop your wondering take a stand (hold on)
There's more to life than just to live (hold on)
The words of her favorite song played over and over in her head as she thought back to the last boy she had dated. It was almost a full two years ago and she had never gotten over him. He was her first love and at the time she was sure he was going to be her only love.
'cause an empty room can be so loud
It's too many tears to drown them out
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Sitting on the front porch of her house she realized just how alone she really was. Her mother just told her that she had to leave in two weeks, her dad had left them years before, her boyfriend broke up with her claiming she wasn’t skinny enough. Seems like nothing could go right. Tears flew down her cheeks and landed on the steps the only noise from anywhere around was her tears hitting the steps.
One single smile a helping hand
It's not that hard to be a friend
So don’t give up stand 'til the end
There's more to life than just to live
That’s where he had found her sitting on her front steps crying. He wiped away her tears and smiled down at her as he helped her up. Said he was new to town and needed a friend wanted to know if she had wanted to be his. She didn’t think she deserved friends anymore. She wasn’t any good her mom had told her so just that morning. But he told her different, said everyone deserved friends even a girl who was as lost as she was and a boy who was as hated as he was.
'cause an empty room can be so loud
It's too many tears to drown them out
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
And here she was again this time not sitting on her mother’s porch but on her own tears streaming down her cheeks as she thought back to him. She didn’t want to but she had to he was her everything and she wanted him to know it but she couldn’t tell him. Not after what had happened.
When you love someone
And they break your heart
don’t give up on love
Have faith, restart
Just hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
She had loved him with all of her heart. It had only taken her two weeks to figure that one out. He was a perfect gentleman, sweet as could be and he was talented. He always went to her first no matter what if it dealt with a song he went to her, if it had to do with his hair, which changed more often then his neck attire, he went to her, if it had to do with a girl, which she hated helping him with girls, he went to her. It didn’t take long though for her to realize that he didn’t love her. At least not like she loved him. She wanted so much more than he was willing to offer and there was nothing she could do about it cause he was in love with the other girl.
When it falls apart
And your feeling lost
All your hope is gone
don’t forget to hold on, hold on
She realized it was a lost cause that he was never going to love her the way that she loved him. She gave up all hope, even stopped helping him with everything just to see if he would notice. And he did but by then it was too late. She was lost to the world and he was the only one that could fix her.
'cause an empty room can be so loud
It's too many tears to drown them out
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
She was alone in the world. She didn’t want to admit it but as the tears fell she softly told herself that she was alone. He didn’t love her he never had and he never would. She was utterly alone and lost in the world.
When you love someone
And they break your heart
don’t give up on love
Have faith, restart
Just hold on, hold on
He had confessed that he loved her back two years ago. Right before he left for tour once again. She hadn’t seen him since that day. Since the say he muttered the three words she had been waiting to hear for over a year.
“Julia I know I’ve never told you this before or even made you think it’s true,” he started out.
“What,” she frowned?
“Julia I love you,” he said as he leaned down and kissed her softly.
'cause an empty room can be so loud
It's too many tears to drown them out
So hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
She was alone the tears streaming down her face. She didn’t want to love him but she had no choice she would love him ‘til the day they both died. She felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up shocked.
When you love someone
And they break your heart
don’t give up on love
Have faith, restart
Just hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
“Julia I love you still do you love me,” he asked with a small smile?
The tears that fell this time were from shock. He had come back for her. It had taken two years, she had moved since he left as had he, but he was here for her now. She smiled as she stood and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Tears staining her cheeks and his neck all the same.
“Kevin I’ll always love you,” she answered smiling.
