Look Me In The Eyes

Chapter 1

Do I look okay? Oh my breath...i know i've got tic-tacs somewhere in this monstrosity of  a purse. Oh God. There they are. I just gotta be myself.

These words were running through Rena's head. Over and over. She was about to actually meet the Jonas Brothers. How had she even gotten here? Her mom wouldnt take her at first, but there she was. Coming from the most memorable concert in her life, and about to meet...them.

Rena looked over at her best friend Danny. "Are you ready?" Danny asked, "Almost there,"

They both let out a small laugh. They were last in the line, and before they knew it.

"Hey there, thanks for coming to the show," Kevin leaned over and hugged Rena, then Danny. "Thanks so much for coming, We really appreciate it," said Nick. He was staring Rena in the eye, like he had seen her before. But where? They had never met. Lastly, Joe. Rena's heart skipped a beat. She had strong feelings for Joe, stronger than she had for, well, any guy. All the past relationships were failures, but who said she couldn't dream?

"Thank you so much. I'm Joe."

"Yeah, I know. haha," They both let out a little laugh. Joe gave her a small hug, yet it was oh so much better than the ones his brothers had given her. "You live around here?" he asked. "Yeah, about 30 minutes from here actually. Why?"

"I was just wondering. You know, you are really pre-"

"Wrap it up, Joe. We have to go," bellowed a quite large body guard.

"...tty. You're really pretty."

"Well, thank you. You aren't so bad looking yoursel-"

"JOE. Any time now..."said the body guard, his voice getting quite anxious.

"Ok heres my number, write down yours right here, quick." Joe scribbled down his phone number, as did Rena. She didn't really think, she just did it. Joe gave her a smile and was grabbed by his body guard into the shadows behind the tall curtains. "Well, now," said Danny, "I wonder what you'll be doing for the next few days..?" Rena smiled and gave a small chuckle..she knew her face was probably 36 shades of pink. Did that really just happen? No way.

"So how was the concert?" asked Rena's father when they got home. "Fun? Did you meet them?"'

" Oh yeah we did..." Danny said, pointing her face at Rena.

"You know, wait, are the boys' concert you just went to last names, Jonas, by any chance?"

"Um...yeah Dad,"

Her father laughed histarically and then it came to a stop. "I am buisness partners with their father, I believe. He just signed on to the project Monday."

"Whawhawha WHAT?!?!"

"Yes, thats right. In fact we're all going out to dinner this Saturday. To celebrate. Dress nice, now. No jeans. No t-shirts."

Rena felt lucky that she didn't faint. This was all happening way too fast..buisness partners..Joe Jonas's number, and a concert, hugs, all in ONE NIGHT??? And now dinner.

"Seems to me, that you'll be seeing a lot more of these, Jonas Brothers, now." said her father. "Ok now more in the morning, you have to go to bed."

"NO Dad explain, now. Please." pleaded Rena.

"Sorry can't. Bed. Now. Both of you."

BAM. Rena woke up. 3 in the morning? Who the heck is texting me NOW??

she slowly read the text message

"hey its joe..sorry about our..interuption today. whats up? oh and when i said you are pretty, i meant it."

that is so joe texting people at 3 in the morning

Chapter 2

Rena read it two times through, hit herself in the head, and squinted her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming. She had NO idea what she should say back. Well..wait..i wonder if he knows about our dads? She thought. Ok, reply, and type. Too late. The cell phone beeped again. Joe. Again.

R u there? o crap its 3 in the morning im sorry. oops.

Rena laughed. Had he really not noticed what time it was? She texted him back. Yes, you woke up me. lol. thanks, for the compliment. u know about our dads? weird huh. SEND. Rena looked over at Danny. How could she still be sleeping? No clue. Heavy sleeper i guess.

Rena was waiting for Joe to reply..but about a minute after she sent her message the phone starting ringing. REALLY loudly. She answered. "Um..hello?"

"I'm so sorry..Rena..thats your name right"

"Yeah. And its ok. Wait is this Joe?"

"You bet..i couldn't sleep. When i got home my dad told me he had just signed on with a new buisness partner. I had to listen to him blab about that forever."

"Oh really?" said Rena. "Because MY dad told me he just got a  new accociate..your dad. We're going to dinner Saturday."

"Oh my God are you serious? ....thats weird. Well i mean not about you i mean....crap."

" Haha i know what you're saying," said Rena. She still couldn't believe it. It was all happening so fast. "Uh oh um i think I woke Nick up. I have to go i'm sorry. Sweet dreams."

"Yeah. You too. See you Saturday."

"Of course."

Days flew by and before Rena knew it...she was standing in front of her mirror smoothing out the simple summer dress she was going to wear out to dinner. "RENA GET OUT OF THE MIRROR ITS TIME TO GOOOOOO" screamed her mother. "Jeeze mom..i'm coming," she laughed. Rena walked down the stairs and into her car. She plugged her ears with her iPod..she didn't want to hear about Dad's whole entire day.

"Ok we're here. Oh look they just followed us in." said Gray, Rena's dad. She pulled her headphones out of her ears and stuffed the iPod in her purse. She reached for the door handle..but Nick Jonas was already on the other side opening the door for her. "You look great, didn't get to talk much before. Weird how we all ended up here, huh? "Yeah, it is. Thanks, the door I mean," she replied. One step away from the truck and Joe stepped up to her. "I'm really sorry about last night, really."

"Oh don't worry about it. Didn't bother me."

"Ok good haha. May I escort you through...uh...these two doors?"

"Haha yes you may." I hope this all goes well. She thought.

The two dads were talking about buisness and joking, their moms were talking about food, cooking, sweaters, shopping, the list goes on. And Rena. She was sitting across from Joe, Diagonal from Kevin, beside Nick, and also diagonal from...Frankie. They were all laughing. It was as if they had known eachother forever. Rena took a sip of her drink, she barely got to do this or she was afraid she would spew it from laughing so hard. She put the cup down and a second later she felt a small, cold ball hit her face. She wiped it into her hand. "EWWWW, thats nasty..who did..ahh Frankie NO SPITBALLS PLEASE," Frankie laughed and loaded another one. "Frankie cut it out. Its funny, it really is but don't do it to Rena. Shes cool," said Joe and looked at Rena smiling. "Fine." Frankie sighed.  "But i have one more left," he shot it at Joe. His face was disgusted. Kevin started laughing histarically. "Looks like target practice started early, huh Joe?" he smirked.

They had a great time. The whole night. In fact, they were all meeting back at Rena's house. She rode back with the Jonas's, But Mr.Jonas rode back with Rena's parents. "That was great...I had TONSSSS of fun," said Frankie. "Yeah, we know," Rena and Joe said at the same time. They all laughed.

The finally arrived at the house 30 minutes later..but it seemed as if it were only 5. Rena's stomache hurt from laughing so hard. Her and Nick were cracking up at any little thing they said, and Joe smiled and sang to the radio. Kevin was trying to convince Frankie that the boogyman didn't live in his shoes. "Well here we are," Rena said. They followed her out of the car and to the front door. Their parents were already inside.

When they got inside their fathers had solemn expressions. "Kids...we've got some bad news.
