I'm going to go ahead and post the 1st chapter now. I don't know if i'll be able to get on later. So, here it is!
Chapter 1
“Emma, sweetie, sound check in 2 minutes.”
“Kay, mom, I’m coming!” I looked at the mirror to see a 15 year old rock star looking back. Picture perfect hair, gorgeous smile. I ripped the poster of Miley off and looked into the real mirror. It was a good thing my fans wouldn’t be seeing me now. My hair was tangled into a bun on the top of my head, and I wasn’t wearing makeup.
“Miss Taylor, your band is waiting.” A blonde headed boy knocked and stepped into the room.
“Oh, thanks T. I’m coming.” I followed my personal assistant/security guard/best friend Tom to the door. Tom and I had been close ever since he got the job as my security guard. Sure he was 22, I was 15, but he was like the brother I never had.
“Hey guys,” I yelled as I stepped onto the stage. “Everything set?”
“Yup, we’re good. We’ve already gotten our sound checked out, we just need you so we can make some minor adjustments,” my guitarist Danny said.
“Ok. How about we go ahead and do a quick song... is ’Let’s Roll’ alright?”
“Sounds good!” my drummer, Rachel said from the back of the stage. She started off with a fun beat, then began the song. Soon Danny and the guitar were in, and my bass player Wilson started up.
“Oh, oh, oh.
We’re getting out, getting up, having some fun tonight. We’ve got our best friends, right here, ready to pull out some moves tonight. And all we need, is you now let’s roll!
Oh, oh oh, yeah, we’ve got a party goin on, while we’re singing this song. Oh, oh, yeah yeah. Right here, is all I want be, living, bein’ free. And I think we’re ready to go, so let’s roll.”
We finished the song and messed around with the drums before heading backstage. It was 4:55, and the show started at 6. My band and I always spent the hour before a show together in someone’s bus, talking about our goals for the night. Today it was my bus, so we all headed over. But were met with my dad standing in front of the door, obviously not willing to move.
“Um, dad? We need to get in. 1 hour rule, remember. Go, go.”
“Oh, I was just thinking you would like to know the news before the show, that’s all,” he said with a faint smile emerging from his mouth.
“And the news would be what?” I asked, becoming curious.
“Just some boy band performing a few songs tonight, I thought you might want to know,” he said, still with a smile.
“Yeah, our opening act. And mom said some other band would be performing tonight too. But she just said they weren’t here yet, and might not show up. So, I guess we’ll wait and find out.” I hoped this conversation was done. I looked behind and saw my band waiting impatiently. My dad stepped out of the way and we walked in to the bus, sitting down on the couches.
1 hour later we emerged, listening to the screams our opening act Blank caused. Sure, they looked very fine, but too old for me. I noticed an odd bus parked beside ours, so the other act must have shown up after all. Tom lead us to the stage. My band scattered to their spots, ready to go. I looked out from the side and saw at least 5,000 people there. Tonight sure was going to be a great night.
