Chapter 4
“...If I couldn’t see those eyes.”
Applause filled the small arena as Joe finished the song. I smiled (for the millionth time that night) and gave each boy a hug. I grabbed Joe’s mike and quickly spoke to everyone. “Thank you all so much. This has definitely been the most amazing night of my life. I love you all so much!” I gave Joe his mike back and waved one last time before walking off the stage.
“Thank you all, we’ll be here tomorrow night. I’m hoping we see every single one of your beautiful faces again!” Kevin said. The boys all held hands and bowed. They ran and waved to everyone before coming back to the middle. With their hands together, they bowed one last time before running off stage. I was standing with Tom, thanking him when they boys came over.
“Hey, hey rock star. We haven’t been formally introduced. I’m Joseph.” Joe said in a British accent and bowed. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. I couldn’t help but laugh.
“It’s so great to finally meet you, Emma. We’ve been talking about how we needed to meet you soon. I’m Kevin.” He stuck his hand out and I shook it. “It’s so nice to finally meet you too. I’m such a huge fan!” I said, probably sounding more like a fan than a pop star.
“So we’ve heard! We thought your set was incredible,” Kevin said.
“Why thank you. You guys were very good, too.”
Finally Nick spoke up and held out his hand. “I’m Nick.” He said, nervously. “It’s so nice to meet you.”
“Same here,” I said. For a second I just stared into his eyes as he stared back. I was about 2 inches shorter than him. His curls were perfect. And those eyes. I was lost in them. He shook his head and looked off into space.
“So...do you guys want to come check out my bus?” I said.
“Yeah, sure! You wouldn’t happen to have Guitar Hero, would you?” Kevin asked.
“I think I do, actually. I’ve been practicing, and I think I’m on, oh, expert maybe? I lost track.” I smiled at Kevin.
“Oh, so you think you’re all great? Well I think it’s about time someone showed you how it’s really played.” Kevin said. He turned out towards the door to the bus. Luckily it was parked indoors so we didn't have any crazy fans to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but sometimes they can cross the line.
“I play winner!” I heard Joe say as I ran out to catch up with Kevin. I thought I heard Nick respond, but I couldn’t tell.
“This your bus?” he asked when he stopped at my dark red tour bus.
“Sure is. Go ahead in, I’m pretty sure it’s unlocked.” Kevin stepped aside after opening the door and let me in first. He followed behind as I walked to the TV where my Wii and Guitar Hero were set up.
“You ready to go down?” I said as I handed Kevin a guitar.
“Bring it on, sister,” he responded.
Joe and Nick scrambled onto the bus. “Em-oh you are here. In case you didn’t hear I play winner,” Joe said.
“More like lose to the winner,” Kevin responded.
“Hey, now that’s just uncalled for. I’ve been practicing a little bit.”
“Yeah, I watched him. Don’t worry Kev and Emma, you have nothing to worry about,” Nick responded.
“I really wasn’t scared,” I said as I smiled at Nick.
“Ok, how about we play...Cliffs of Dover on expert. You ready?” Kevin asked.
“Oh, yeah.”
