Wow thank you all so much! I have a ton of chapters already written, so I have no problem posting the next chapter now!
Chapter 5
We ended up playing Guitar Hero until about 10 that night. I hadn’t beaten Kevin, but the score was close. Joe tried playing, and all I could do was laugh while he tried to hit the notes, a click sounding every second. I was surprised Nick wasn’t all they great at the game. He managed to beat Joe a few times, but didn’t stand a chance against me or Kevin.
“Emma! We’ve booked a room at the nearest hotel, so we’re heading out there now,” my dad said as he stepped onto the bus. “Hey boys, I’ve been sent to tell you your mom is waiting for you on your bus. All the fans have cleared out, so were all set. I think you’re going to the same hotel as us.”
“Ok, thank you very much sir,” Kevin said as he began turning off the game. “Come on guys, let’s get going now. See you later Em.”
“Bye Kevin,” I responded as I leaned in for a hug. It seemed like I had known this boy for a lot longer than a few hours. He was like my other brother.
“Until next time, miss,” Joe said as he gave me a hug.
“Nice meeting you Joe. I’ll see you later.”
“Bye.” Nick said quietly. “I guess we’ll see you, uh, later.”
“I guess so. Bye Nick,” I said. Nick stood there awkwardly before opening his arms for a hug. I gladly walked into him. We stood there for a second, and for some reason I really didn’t want to let go. I pulled away after 5 seconds. “Bye.”
“Yup,” he said as he followed his brothers off the bus.
“You ready to roll?” my mom asked.
“Please mom, refrain from using any reference of my music in your speech. It just doesn’t flow,” I said, before laughing. “So how far away is this hotel?”
“Just around the block. Why?” my dad responded.
“Oh, I was just curious. And the boys are staying at the same hotel, right? I was hoping we could see them again soon.”
“Actually, Denise said it was alright if you wanted to spend tomorrow with the boys. They had a few radio shows to do in the morning. There isn’t a VIP sound check so not many people should be at the venue early. Is it all right with you?” my mom asked.
“Of course! I’m going to go ahead and get a few things packed up for the hotel. I’ll be out in a few.” I walked to the back of the bus where my “bedroom” was. I loved sleeping in hotels, but I could never decide how much stuff to bring into the hotel. Sure I could just go down and get my stuff whenever needed, but lately paparazzi have been everywhere. And some things I can’t send Tom to get and my mom hated having to fetch me anything. So I just brought it up all with me.
I changed into a pair of Abercrombie sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I put my ipod on shuffle and ran around my little room, picking up things I would need.
I quickly looked at my calendar. I put an X through March 14. My tour only had one more show on the 16th. Then we were heading back to LA so could record my new album. We’d just go from there.
“Come on Em, we’re here!” my dad’s voice echoed to my bunk.
“I’ll come up soon. Can you just leave Tom here with me for now?” I asked.
“Yup, I’ll be waiting. Why would I leave you behind?” Tom’s voice sounded from the front of the bus.
“Thanks Tom. Could you help me with my things?” I said as I struggled to carry my bags up.
“Sure thing, girly.”
“Here, you can take this one. And this one. Oh, and if you wouldn’t mind this one too that would be great,” I said, handing Tom the bags.
“So much for packing light. How long you planning on staying here?” he said as we made our way off the bus.
“Eh, I don’t know. In this hotel, one night. But on the road, maybe a little longer. I’m thinking about asking mom if we can stay for an extra week, or go to a few of the Jonas shows in the area. You up for it?”
“Fine with me. I really didn’t have a choice anyway, did I?” Tom asked. We were now heading into the hotel, using a back entrance we could use tonight only.
“I guess you really didn’t. Can you believe only 1 more show left in this tour?”
“I know. But it’s been an amazing experience, right?”
“Are you Emma Taylor?!” a sudden scream pierced me from behind. I had forgotten a hat and sunglasses. It didn’t sound like a girl’s voice, but I guess I had lots of fans.
“Yes! How are you!” I said as I whipped my head around. “Oh.” I said.
“Gotcha!” Joe said as he ran to catch up with me. I smiled when I saw Kevin and Nick running behind him. I knew I wanted to be spending a little bit longer with these boys.
