So everyone, I've started writing a 3 shot ff for the fantastillistic MARNIKINZ! haha. (aka Marni) She has written "Telephone Pole", "Out of Body", and "On the Road".
So here's to queen Marni.
Chapter 1 of 3
The name is Marni. Or at least that's what I want you to call me. I live in a nice house, in a nice subdivision in the city of Wyckoff in New Jersey. Now I'm gonna tell you a tale of love.
I plopped in my seat on the school bus, turned on my iPod, and looked out the window. It was the third day of school. I placed my books on my lap and turned my iPod onto my 'Panic!' playlist. I sat reminiscing on the words to "9 in the Afternoon" by Panic! At the Disco.
I hummed to my song, closing my eyes, and ignoring my surroundings. The kids were all noisy, whiny, and annoying. Stupid kids. Myra, my sister, sat in her seat giggling and carrying on with a friend. I glanced out the window and then fel someone sit next to me. Joe Jonas. He plugged the earphones of his iPod into his ears. He looked into my eyes sincerely and smiled. Then he shyly glanced at his iPod. Throughout the rest of the ride, out of my perripherral vision, I could see that he kept looking at me.
After what happened with Tyler, my ex-boyfriend, I wasn't going to have another person like me or 'fall in love' with me. Tyler, to me, terrible boyfriend. 4 words: Treated Me Like TRASH.
Now was my stop. As I got off, I realized that I'd never noticed that Joe and his younger and older brother lived 2 doors down from me.
"See ya!" I faintly heard from my iPod. He walked to his house as I walked the opposite direction. I raised my hand and slightly waved, wondering if he'd seen me.
I walked in through the front door into my house, vastly greeted my mom, and walked up to my room. Being that it was only the third day, teacher were leniant on the homework.
I shut the door behind me. I couldn't let another guy love me. Not after Tyler. I wouldn't.
The next day, we received some math homework. But it wasn't too awful.
Daily routine. I sat in my seat and turned on my iPod. This time, Joe sat in my seat, again. I turned, looking out of the window, ignoring him. I.Wouldn't.Let.Him.In.
Suddenly he took my iPod earphones out and said hi. I took out the other earphone and said hi back. I didn't say he couldn't be my friend.
"What's you name?" he asked with a gracious smile.
"M-Marni," I said.
"I'm Joe, aren't you new?"
"Yeah," I said shyly.
"Cool. Whatcha listening to?"
"Just Panic! At the Disco."
"Awesome. Well, here's my stop."
"You realize it's my stop too?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot," he lied. We both got off, as did his brothers.
"What are your brothers' names?"
"Kevin, he's the oldest," he said pointing towards Kevin. "And the younger one is Nick."
"I presume you have another brother?"
"How'd you know?"
"You didn't say that Nick was the 'youngest'."
"Oh. Well you'd be correct. Frankie, the youngest, and the last, is inside."
"I see."
"Well, I gotta go, gotta do that math homework.
"Yeah, uh, same here."
"Friends?" I thought about it. Yeah, we could be friends.
"Sure."
"Yay!" He exclaimed and squeezed me into a hug.
