I sat on the steps of my house watching my dad and two older brothers Drake and Jay packing all our stuff into the moving truck. My mom was struggling with my two baby twin sisters Samantha and Ali. "Katlyn. Can you spare an extra hand?" she asked me. I nodded reaching out my arms and taking Ali from her. Just then a familiar voice called my name. I turned to see my best childhood friend Nicholas running towards me. He sat on the steps. His house, had a moving truck too. They were moving to California. We wouldn't see eachother that often anymore.  "So.. I guess.. this is good-bye?" he asked me.

I shrugged as I looked down at Ali's cute face. "Don't know.. maybe" I replied. My long brown blonde streaked hair was blowing in the wind. "I still have your cell number, and you still have mine" he said putting a hand on my knee. Ali reacher her arms out to Nick which meant she wanted him to carry her. I gave her to him. Watching him tickle her was so cute. He'd make a great father someday.I was in my red short shorts and a white tank top. I had my red flip flops and my white bug eyed un glasses on my head. "Hey Nick! Let's go!" Joe called. We looked at him. He waved at me and I waved back. "See ya Joey!" I called. "Bye Ree!" he called with a huge grin on his face.

Joe was like my big brother. Well.. another big brother. "Well.. bye Teresa" Nick said. He then did something totally unexpected. And he knew I was going out with someone too. He gently kissed me on the lips for a few seconds with passion and then left leaving me stunned. Nick.. I'll miss you. You and your brothers I thought as he got into the truck and drove off. All three boys waved at me. "Say bye-bye Ali" I said waving her hand at the boys.

I had spent 15 summers in my neighbourhood. Now.. things would change. I'd be leaving all my friends behind as I left. Why does it have to end like this? Seperating from you? I thought. My parents had gotten new jobs. But they didn't tell us where. My mom said we'd like it, but I didn't believe her. I liked it here. In Jersey. My mom was pregnant. Again. Three months now. Probably a boy. That's what we're hoping for. I couldn't stop thinking about that kiss. I wouldn't tell Cole, my boyfriend. I don't consider that a love kiss.. I considered that a good-bye for now kinda kiss.. those were two whole different kisses. Right?

Yeah.. make fun of it all you want. I'll just delete yurr comments. I'm working on chapter two. Maybe it'll be up tomorrow afternoon around fourish.. maybe later.. maybe earlier.. dunno.

.:: NICK'S POV ::.

"Why'd we have to leave?" I asked. "Aw, cheer up son" my father said. "We'll be heading to California" he said. I sighed. "But I like it in Jersey!" I exclaimed. My mom turned around and smiled. "Trust me Nick, you'll like it the same" he said. "Whatever" I mumbled sticking in my earphones. I turned on my iPod nano and began to hum. Just then my cell vibrated and rang to the tune of " 007".. I had a huge smile on my face as I looked at the caller I.D. "Who's that?" Joe asked looking over my shoulder. "IIt's.. Miley" I said a bit disappointed that it wasn't Teresa. "Hi Miles" I said. "Hey babe. I'm soo stocked that I get to see you in a few hours" she exclaimed. I chuckled slightly. "Heh. Me too" I said. Miley was a cool girl. We're dating now. But I think I liked her better as a friend.

"Listen babe, I have to go. Rehearsing with Emily and Mitchel for another episode of Hannah" she said.  She hung up without even saying good-bye. I sighed as I looked over at Kevin. He was chatting non-stop on his cell with his girlfriend,  Ashlynn. They had been dating for two months now. Tomorrow would be the third month of their relationship. "Joe, I think I'm going to break up with Miles" I whispered. Joe looked at me surprised. "Why?" he asked. "She loves you too much" I nodded. "I know.. but.." I trailed off. Joe seemed to get it. "I see.. you like Ree don't you?" My eyes widened. "No! me and Ree are bestfriends! And besides, she's going out with Cole!" I exclaimed. Joe crossed his arms. He wasn't convinced.

"Yeah.. I guess I do" I replied quietly. Joe uncrossed his arms. "Aww, I'm sure she misses you like crazy. Call her" he said. I nodded dialling her number. I waited. "Hey Nick" she replied. I cleared my throat. "Yeah, hey" I said. "You started moving yet?" I asked. "Yeah, but we won't be there for like nine more hours" she replied. I sighed. "Same. How are you and Cole?" I asked. I heard a pause on the other line. "Hello?" I asked. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm here. Uh.. we're alright. Things could get better between us, but our relationship is good. How about you and Miles?" she asked.

I nodded. But she couldn't see obviously. "Yeah, same with us. Our relationship could be better, but I guess it's alright. "I miss you" I added. She snickered. "Heh. Yeah, me too hon. I miss our sleep overs and and friends". The line was quiet. "You know it won't be the same from now on. I mean, we might be far away from eachother. And we might not see eachother for another two or three years" I said. I heard Ree's voice wobble. "Y-Yeah.. I know. But it's okay, because it's better for us to see new people right?" she asked. I nodded. What did she mean by that? I thought. "Well, bye I guess.." I said. I could punch myself for ending the convo. But I needed to. Right?

"Yeah.. thanks" she said. "For what?" I asked. I could hear her twin sisters crying on the other end. "For being the bestest friend a girl can have" she replied.
