Warm, fresh, tears streamed down her face. The Black haired girl tucked her cellphone back in her purse. She stared up at her favorite band. The crowd was silenced and one of the band member’s was talking, Joe. Joe Jonas. She just got off a conversation with her mother explaining that her uncle had died. She looked back down at her converses. She smiled at the color, green. Her uncle’s favorite color. She cried some more. Up on stage, a curly haired boy noticed her crying. For some reason he tightened the guitar he was holding. He just wanted to go and talk to her. Console her. In his eyes, she was very pretty. Black hair, with side bangs, a length that was right below her neck. Deep brown eyes and a tan complexion. Her hair wasn’t in layers, and he did like that. It was straight and it suited her features.
He just needed a way to talk to her without all the girls tackling him. He glided his eyes back to his brothers. Kevin and Joe. Now, Kevin was talking to the audience. The concert is almost ending now and so Kevin spoke, “Now, we just can’t leave without this song can we?” He strummed his guitar to “That’s Just the way we roll” The boy got the queue and started singing.
The girl shot her eyes back up at the band as they started to play her favorite song, That’s Just The Way We Roll. That song was a tiny ray of light that made her feel better. She smiled at the stage. “Nick Take it away!” shouted Joe at his mic to the curly haired boy. Nick sang his heart out. Like he always does at every concert but this time he just wanted to sing for her. He looked at the slightly smiling girl. He felt a little happier. He just knew, he can just tell, that this was her favorite song and he was making her better with it.
“Thank you for being with us tonight!” Nick said into the mic. The crowd roared with glee except for that one girl. Nick ran off stage as fast as he could. He needed to get to the girl. He ran through metal doors and was out to where the crowd used to be. The girl was sitting down deep in thought. The arena was almost empty. Nick studied the place to just check there isn’t anyone there. He walked over to where the girl is sitting and sits. “Hey.” He says softly. The girl turns her head and smiles. She doesn’t really care if it is her idol, Nick Jonas sitting next to her. She just cares about her uncle. “Hi.” She replies. “I-I saw you crying when I was on stage.” He says nervously. Nick doesn’t even know why he is nervous. “Yeah, well, you can’t help that your uncle just died 15 minutes ago.” Nick looks over at her, her eyes glistening, tears threatening to pour out. He has a look of sympathy on his face. “I’m so sorry.” Is all he can manage to say.
“Everything happens for a reason.” She says getting up and grabbing her purse. Nick stands up too. She makes her way to the exit. Nick walks with her and asks, “Will I see you again?” She stopped walking, looks at him and answers, “I don’t know.”
“Can I get your number?” he asks. He has never done that. She’s a complete stranger and he asks for her number. He’s shocked. The girl is still crying. Nick hands her his iPhone. She took it and punched in her number and continues walking. He just stares at the number. Her name. What is her name?
“What’s your name?” He shouts after her. She turns around, “Mel, Melanie.” And with that she left.
