Chapter One
I love the summer. The way the sun shines and the grass smells and even the sunburns. This summer, though, is going to be different. It’s my last summer before I head off to college, or “reality” as my mom called it. Currently, I live in the small state of Rhode Island, but for college I was heading to UCLA in California. Despite, my whole family against it, I know I can handle it. I want a change, something different. But most importantly, I want to get away from the people.
“I’ll treat you like a princess, but your life is just one big mess, when did your heart go missing? When did your heart go missing?”
Audrina sang Rooney’s hit song with one hand out the window and the sun shining down on her white pick up truck. It was her dad’s old car she got when she was 16, and at first she hated it, but now it was her “baby.” Placing her bug eyed sunglasses on the top of her blonde messy curls, she turned the music up a little higher to drown out all her thoughts.
