Ok here's chapter two! Leave some love!
Chapter 2
Jenna had just finished filing and decided to take a much-needed break. She turned to her
computer to check her e-mail when the phone rang.
"Thomas and Sons this is Jenna," she said into the phone.
"Jenna, it's Lily.” Lily was Jenna's younger sister who had just turned 16 and was experiencing her newfound independence by driving everywhere. "Jenna, I'm downtown shopping and wanted to see how your first day was going. Do you want to go have lunch?" Jenna smiled at thought of having lunch with her sister and agreed to when she got her break.
"Ok, well, I'll see you in about 30 minutes. Love ya!” Lily hung up and Jenna focused her blue-green eyes on the clock on the wall. Lunch could not get here fast enough. She could already hear people down the hall leaving to take their lunch break. Then a huge group of people left the office next door and the dreaded man in the gray suit started towards her door. He came through the door and walked up to her desk.
"Dave Martin" he extended his hand in introduction. He then went on to explain that the
woman who worked at the front desk in his office had called in sick and the whole office was going out to lunch to celebrate a new client and no one would be at the office. He asked if it would be ok for him to leave a note on the door to stop by this office if anyone came by. Although he was not expecting anyone. Jenna agreed since there was not a lot going on in her office either.
Jenna pulled up solitaire on her computer and started to play. Her mind wondered to thoughts of missed road trips with friends and days at the beach that would not be hers. Growing up was no fun and she loathed the idea of missing out on her last summer off from school. She glanced at the clock and then at the door where the meeting her dad was in trying to will them to end the meeting, so she could go to lunch with Lily when she got there. Then she heard some people talking in front of the office next door when a curly headed boy of about 16 stuck his head in the door.
"Hey we were trying to meet with Dave Martin. The note on the door said to come over here." Jenna explained what happened and that he would be back shortly. The curly headed boy thanked her and went back in the hall. Jenna watched as he went back and relayed the message to the other two guys with him. They then sat on the floor to wait for Mr. Martin.
After a few minutes, Jenna decided to invite them into the office to wait, so they wouldn't
have to sit on the floor. The boys agreed and they filed into the office and sat on the
couches across from Jenna's desk. She immediately regretted inviting them in as they all sat around goofing off and making fun of each other. Just then, Lily walked through the door.
“Jenna! You look so professional and in charge! I’m impressed,” Lily said as she stood in front of the desk.
“Thanks Lily. I can’t leave for lunch now…” Jenna started but was interrupted by Lily gasping loudly and leaning over the desk.
“Why are the Jonas Brothers here?” she frantically whispered.
“The what brothers?” Jenna asked.
“Oh my gosh. Lower your voice. The Jonas Brothers Jenna. Don’t you know anything? I’m only in love with them. Does my hair look ok?” Lily was obviously not waiting for an answer as she turned around to ogle the boys who were now toying around with a plastic plant in the corner.
