CHAPTER UNO
“Ok Katie we only have a limited amount of time…” Meg began telling Katie as they stood at the entrance to Xpect, “So you grab the poptarts, I’ll get the M&Ms. Ready? Synchronize watches…and go!”
As Katie ran towards the breakfast food aisle, she wasn’t paying attention and ran directly into someone. “Hey…sorry.” said the voice of the person who ran into her.
“Sorry, no time to talk. Gotta get poptarts.” Katie replied standing up without looking at the person she bumped into.
After she grabbed the poptarts, she went to turn around, but someone grabbed her arm. “Um…Excuse me this is absurd. I have a time limit…”Katie said turning to face the person who grabbed her, it was the mystery person who bumped into her. He had straight black hair that came a little below his ears and fell into his face just the tiniest bit.
“You know…” replied the mystery man with a small smile, “I found out yesterday that Poptarts taste so much better if you put them in the microwave.” Katie smiled at him, forgetting completely about having to meet Meg, “by the way, my name’s Joe.”
Immediately as he said his name, Katie recognized him as Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. “I’m Katie.” she replied blushing at the fact that Joe Jonas was talking to her, “I…I…better get going….my friend is waiting for me…”
“Here,” Joe said grabbing Katie’s hand gently, “Let me walk you so you don’t bump into anyone else.”
Katie laughed, gripping Joe’s hand with a smile while the whole time looking in his eyes, “Yeah, I’d like that…”
MEANWHILE…..
“Where is she?!” Meg impatiently asked no one in particular while fingering the bag of M&Ms she held in her hand.
“I’m not sure…” someone behind her replied, “but maybe I could help you.”
Meg turned around to face a man with curly hair smiling at her. “Um…I think she’ll be here in a minute…all she had to do was grab a box of Poptarts…”
“Well,” the man replied, smiling, “Can I talk to you until she gets here? I’m Kevin.”
OMJ, Meg thought, it’s Kevin Jonas!! What do I do?! Tell him your name idiot! “I’m…Meghan.”
“What a pretty name.” Kevin replied, his cheeks turning a very light shade of pink, “So, I see you like M&Ms…” he pointed to the bag in her hand.
“Thanks and yeah...they are my fave candy.” Meg replied, blushing a little herself.
“Mine too!” Kevin exclaimed with a laugh, holding up a bag of his own. “Maybe we could share some at lunch tomorrow?”
Meg giggled. “Yeah I’d like that.”
“Cool. So here.,.” he pulled out his phone, “Program in your number and I’ll call you tonight.” He gave Meg a small smile that made her heart melt.
Meg quickly pulled out her phone too. “Here,” she blushed, “Would you mind programming in yours too?”
“I’d be delighted too.” Kevin replied, as they switched phones.
When they finished programming in each others numbers, they switched phones back and Kevin snapped a shot of Meg. He laughed, “You are now officially my new background.”
Meg looked at the picture and giggled, “Eww…please delete it. I look horrible.”she tried to grab the phone out of Kevin’s hand, but he held it above his head.
She was now only a few inches away from his face. “no you don’t…” he said looking her in the eyes, “You look absolutely beautiful.”
They both leaned in closer to each other. “Eww!!! Kevin no kissing in public!!” someone screamed from behind them with a laugh.
Kevin and Meg quickly snapped back into reality and turned to face Joe and Katie laughing their heads off. As Katie slowly began to stop laughing, her and Joe walked up to Meghan and Kevin. “Meghan!” Katie exclaimed, “I went to get Poptarts, but I found something much more delightful! I think I’m gonna buy him!-Oops! I was supposed to whisper that!”
Joe laughed and turned to Katie, “K, you can buy me on one condition…”
“What?”
“Kiss me first.”
Before Katie could replied, Joe kissed her gently on the lips. “What happened to the no kissing in public rule?!” Kevin asked still a little fumed that Joe ruined the moment.
Joe shrugged, “I changed it. So girls, you wanna come to the concert tonight? You could even meet the band! Yeah, we have connections.”
“Sure!” Meghan replied with a smile, “Two conditions….One: Frankie has to be there!! Cause he’s the coolest Jonas.”
“Thanks a lot!” Kevin stuck his tongue out at her playfully.
“But its true!” Katie chimed in, “Have you seen the kid?! He’s a tank!”
Joe sighed, “If that’s how you feel…ok. Whats the other condition?”
Meghan smiled a devilish smile, “My fifteen year old sister Marisa has to come.”
“Wait is she hot?” said a voice from behind Joe, it was Nick, “I’d like to know ahead of time.”
“Uh…Nick…I’m not gonna judge my sister like that…see for yourself.”
Nick just shrugged in response. “Wait,” Joe said thinking, “How old are you guys?”
Katie jumped up and down with her hand raised in the air, “OH!OH!OH! I know this one! I’m eighteen and Meg is nineteen!!!”
“Very good Katie…”Meg replied sarcastically, “We have to go, but we’ll see you guys tonight?”
“Yep!” Kevin smiled and pulled something out of his pocket, “Here’s the p*CENSORED*. Just give them to the security guard at the door and they’ll take you to our dressing room. Show starts at 8 so be there at..6?”
Katie nodded, “We’ll be there!”
“Great!” Joe grinned, “Can’t wait to see you. Bye.”
“Bye.” The girls replied in unison as the boys of their dreams walked out of sight.
