Okay, before I post the new chapter, I want to share a little funny story that happened today (ASH you'll appreciate this especially! XD) So I'm at home and I was hanging with my younger sister in her room. She has Jonas ALL OVER the walls. Like honestly, there's no room for more. Very distracting. In a good way. Anywho! She was talking earlier about how I guess she saw a picture of Nick with straight hair. So she goes, all of a sudden:
"Do you think when Nick gets out of the shower, his hair is straight?" looking for an answer.
Which I, naturally, could not give.
Because now I was off in OJD-lala-land. Picturing some very, very bad things. FO SHAME! XD Just had to share. NEW CHAPTER! =]
Chapter Three
It was decided that we would alternate who shared a bed, just to make it as fair as possible. On Melissa’s insistence, the couple would be of the same gender, though she turned a brilliant crimson when Ashley teased her about sharing a bed with Kevin. You could tell she was tempted. Very tempted. But then she remembered the very protective group of parents we had at home, and realized that was definitely not a good idea. That night, it ended up being Joe and Nick. Joe was pretty bad at rock-paper-scissors, to our endless amusement. Ashley gave him a hug to ‘cheer him up’. Yeah. That’s why. But it was funny nonetheless to see him try and hide his slight blush.
It was a pretty uneventful night. We all headed up to the loft after finishing some old movie on the TV, which had been a nice change from the scary stories. I can’t remember laughing so much in a while, as the guys started making up lines for the actors, inviting their own storyline. It was far more entertaining than the actual plot.
The first thing I woke up to the next morning was Joe whining. Loudly. Ashley mumbled something into her pillow from the bed next to me and I rolled over, trying to block out the sound. I caught a glimpse of a bleary-eyed Nick raising his head from the pillow and make a face.
“Ash,” I mumbled. “Your boyfriend is making too much noise.”
“Nuff muh bufhrehnd.”
“…what?”
“He’s not my boyfriend!” she finally managed coherently, removing the pillow from her face. She grinned at the thought. “But I’ll go see what’s happening.”
She padded down the ladder, and soon her voice was added into the mix. But the noise didn’t stop. Melissa appeared on the ladder several minutes later, shaking her head. “What’s going on?” I questioned, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
She laughed. “Joe’s not liking the small bathroom very much. And the fact that we all have to share and there isn’t much room for his hair supplies,”
I heard Ashley teasing Joe downstairs. “This from a boy who spent months on a tour bus?” I raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly.
She shrugged. “I have no idea. I guess it’s just…Joe.”
I rolled into a sitting position. “That actually explains a lot.”
Nick chuckled as he sat up, running a hand through his mussed hair in a failed attempt to neaten it up. “Yeah, that sounds like Joe.” He wrinkled his nose and I could have jumped him. “He doesn’t make much sense,” It was then we all realized that Nick was shirtless, including him.
I’m pretty sure I was bright red due to embarrassment, same as Nick, who laughed nervously and grabbed a t-shirt. Mel was flushed from the effort of holding back her laughter.
“Stop being a pedophile, Melissa!” I teased.
“But it comes naturally!” she exclaimed rather hysterically, obviously still sleep-deprived. She paused, giggling, and then burst out with “I have to go tell Ashley!”
Nick was still pink with embarrassment as she rushed downstairs, and we shared an amused glance. “Honestly, Nick, you need to stop making my friends act like thirteen-year-olds.”
“I’m…sorry…?” he smirked.
I shrugged with a laugh. “Eh. Not your fault. And I’m not complaining,”
I was stunned with my own boldness, but thrilled to see him turn red again.
We came downstairs just in time to see Ashley stop giggling over being a ped and ruffle Joe’s hair and laugh. “Joseph, you look be-yoo-tee-ful. No hair products necessary.”
He made a pouty face and plopped down at the kitchen table next to Kevin, who had produced coffee out of nowhere. At my wondering expression, he grinned. “It’s no Starbucks, but it’ll do,” Now that was a talent for you.
A long silence fell over the group as we all tried to wake up, with the exception of Nick fiddling with his cell phone, trying to find service. With a sigh, he dropped it on the table, looking disappointed.
It was pretty evident that boredom was about to settle over this cottage quite quickly.
“I’m assuming this place was a lot more fun as a kid,” Joe spoke up, and Melissa stuck out her tongue at him.
“Probably,” she admitted, crossing her arms. “Not like we have much of a choice. Unless you can make a cell phone tower appear magically.”
He shook his head. “Not one of my many skills.”
“Too bad,” I murmured. Drumming my fingers on the counter, I looked to Mel. “Is there anything to do around here?”
She looked thoughtful, then a grin broke out on her face. “Anyone up for a swim?”
Ashley blinked. “But we don’t have bathing suits.”
“We improvise!” Melissa smirked. That pretty much meant we were talking underwear, upgraded.
“This should be good,” Nick murmured, reading my mind.
Very good indeed...
Oh! Forgot to add, my sister and I were watching our DVRed copy of Ellen with the guys on it, and my mom is apparently a ped too, cause she thinks Nick is cute. XD YES! Another one...
