Authors note: In the story, Nick and Kevin have naturally curly hair, and Joes is naturally straight. We know Joe's hair is curly! But it just worked better for the story. ALSO : if you see something, and don't know what it is, keep in mind that the story centers on three girls from a parellel universe. So think oposit. (it's kinda got like a narnia thing going on.)

Chapter 1

Have you ever wondered what could lie beyond the realms of our world? Could life exist somewhere other than on Earth? And no, I don’t mean little green men with large black eyes on mars. I mean a totally different universe with people just like us. Is it possible? Will we ever find out?

*BANG*
    “Oops,” Josie Johnes said, staring down at the microphone she had just accidentally thrown off the stage during sound check. She glanced over at her sisters guiltily. They were wincing with their hands pressed over their ears as feedback from the fallen mic came blaring out the speakers.
    “I’ll get it!” she yelled over the screeches. She jumped down off the stage, much to the dismay of her sisters.
With a crash, she landed on the cement. Kaylen and Nikki, her older and younger sisters, ran down the steps and crouched by her. As Kaylen switched off the microphone still lying nearby, Nikki pried Josie’s hand from her forehead where she was pressing it with a pained look on her face.
As if on cue, the girl’s mother, Demi and their 8-year-old sister Frannie, walked in just in time to see the blood pouring from the scrape on her middle daughter’s head.
    “What happened?” she asked, looking harried as she nudged Nikki out of the way to take a closer look.
    Kaylen snorted, crossing her arms. “Danger here jumped off the stage,”
    Josie glared at her older sister as her mom turned to face her.
    “Josephina Autumn! What were you thinking?” Josie winced at the sound of her full name.
“What was she thinking? She was acting like a crazy person and chucked her mic offstage. Then she jumped off the stage to get it. I don’t really think much thinking was involved.” Kaylen and Frannie laughed as they watched Nikki dodge Josie’s hand.
    “Girls!” Demi scolded, now quite annoyed by the antics of her children. They all became silent at the tone of her voice. Event though Nikki was sorely tempted to burst out laughing at the thin trail of blood now making its way onto Josie’s favorite shirt and into her curly blonde locks.
“Now, if you’d all just listen. Nicholette, go get your father, Josephina needs to go to the emergency room. Paulina Kaylen, pick up that microphone and go find your sister a clean shirt. Watch Francesca while I talk to the concert directors. Now, go!”
The girls scampered off, glancing warily back at their mother. When she broke out the full names, it was usually not a good sign. Sure enough, Demi was now scolding Josie loudly while the girl cowered with her hand on her head.
“Yikes,” whispered Kaylen, and with that they all took off to do their assigned chores.

Three hours and 4 stitches later, Josie, Nikki, and Kaylen stood before the arena of screaming fans. They had just finished their hit single and the screams from the crowd were exhilarating. Josie stepped up to take the mic.
“We just want to thank you guys for selling this show out in less than ten minutes. Our fans are the best in the world!”
After a rousing cheer from the crowd, they continued on with one more song before taking their customary bow and exiting the stage.
Just as after every concert, the girls high-fived their backing band, Joan, Jill, Meg, and Diane on the way to the shower. Then, after a quick rinse and wardrobe change, they went out to meet the fans with backstage passes. The only thing missing from the routine was the presence of Riley Silas, their ex-touring partner. It was one of their first shows without him. Mostly Nikki missed him the most seeing as they had dated on and off throughout the duration of the tour.
Finally the sisters headed home. For once, home didn’t mean the tour bus. The concert they had just attended was in their hometown and they had a three-day break before they had to take off again. As soon as they reached their home, the door was thrown open and the girls began running through the house, reveling in the feeling of just returning to a home that didn’t move.
“Hey guys,” Nikki called, catching Josie’s arm as she flew by, screaming the lyrics to something that sounded suspiciously like an old Frontroad Guys song. Once Kaylen appeared Nikki suggested they head up to the attic, the girls’ favorite hideout. After rousing agreement from the two, they headed up to the old room. It had been at least two years since the girls had set foot in their childhood paradise.
Giggles and gasps erupted around the room as they inspected the wall hangings and other junk lying around the space. Suddenly Josie became quiet, staring at the little stained-glass window on the farthest wall. She *CENSORED*ed her head for a minute before trying to peer through it.
“Hey Kaylen…” she said, without taking her eyes from the window. Kaylen drifted over, adjusting her scarf.
“What’s up, Josie? She asked. Josie just pointed at the window. “Have you guys ever seen this window outside?”
Nikki joined the duo, studying the stained glass. “No, there’s definitely no stained-glass windows on the house.” She commented, now just as curious as Josie. They exchanged confused looks.
“But there’s light coming through, look,” noticed Kaylen, pointing at the multi-colored stripes of color painting the floor.
“Wiiieerrrd…” the girls echoed together.
“Well, what are we waiting for let’s open it!” Josie grabbed the latch of the window and pulled. The window appeared to be stuck. “Ugh!” she grumbled.
“Let me try,” said Nikki, stepping forward. But even after she and Kaylen tried, it wouldn’t budge.
“Man I wish it would have opened,” said Josie, collapsing on the floor with her chin in her hands. Just then the window popped open, just barely missing the back of Josie’s head.
“Whoa…” breathed Kaylen, peering through the opening.
“C’mon, let’s go,” said Nikki, as they were all strangely drawn to the strange place. They linked hands and stepped climbed through the window.

Chap 2.


           “Ouch! Get off me!” Nikki yelped as the girls piled up on the wooden floor below them.

           “What the-?” Kaylen and Josie gasped, looking around. Looks of confusement covering their already shocked faces.

           “Wait. Didn’t we just?” Nikki started.

           “Uh-huh” Answered Kaylen.

           “But we’re back in our attic! Aren’t we?” Josie questioned as the girls stood up and looked around.

           “Ok these are SO NOT ours!” Kaylen gasped, picking up a pair of boxer shorts from the floor.

           “And I’m pretty sure we don’t have a picture of some total drag queen named ‘Hannah Montana’ hanging on our wall.” Nikki snorted, inspecting the picture and flicking the persons face.
         
          “Eww!” Josie giggled standing behind her sister, also taking a look.

          “So… this isn’t our attic?” Kaylen questioned, thoughtfully running her hand along the wall.

          “I’m heading up to the attic in a minute. I’m just gunna grab a Red Bull first.” The girls heard someone yell from the floor below.

          “Apparently not!” Josie squealed, as the girls stared at each other wide-eyed. “Run!” The girls raced back to the now closed window.

          “It’s stuck again!” Nikki panicked, pulling back on the window with all her might.
         
          “What do we do?!” Josie screeched in panic.

          *Thud* *thud* *thud*
     Came footsteps coming up the stairs. The trio took one look at each other and ran to hide behind the old couch in the corner of the room. Hands held and fingers crossed, they waited for the unknown party to enter the room…

          “Ok so should we take it from the top?” A dark, curly haired boy that looked to be around 19 or 20, asked as he walked in the attic with a guitar in his hands.

         “Dude! Let’s just hang out for a bit! We’ll practice later.” Another boy answered, this time he was shorter, younger, dark, curly hair, and looked to be around 15.

        “Agreed!” Yet another boy said, stumbling in with a can in his hand. This time he had the same dark hair, just not curly, and looked to be just a little younger then the oldest. “How about those chicks earlier?” He asked, grinning as they all sat on the couch nearly crushing the girls crouched behind them.
 Nikki let out a surpressed gasp as she got hopelessly pinned to the wall behind the narrowest part of the space behind the couch.

       “Oh Joe! I love you so much!” One of them mocked.

       “Oh my gawd! I can’t believe it’s really nick! In person!” Another added.

The girls exchanged amused glances as they listened to the three-mystery men talk about performing at a concert earlier that day…

 Later…

       “I’m starved lets go eat.” One of them said. And with that, they left.

       “Okay.” Josie breathed, relieved that they weren’t stuck anymore.

       “My neck is killing me!” Nikki complained, rubbing her neck and stretching. “How long were we sitting there?!”

       “Like a half hour.” Kaylen sighed.

       “Let’s try the window again.” Nikki suggested. She hated not knowing what was going on and where she was. She tried tugging at the window again. “Urgh! Why isn’t in working?!” She said, giving the latch one last shake before plopping in the floor. “This is ridiculous! I wish we had noticed that stupid window!” She pounded the wall behind her.

       “SSHH!!” Kaylen and Josie hissed. Josie took her turn at the window after Kaylen but to her dismay, had no better luck then her sisters.

       “It’s like it was never meant to be opened in the first place…” Said Josie thoughtfully. “I don’t think its up to us as to when it’s going to open.”

       “What? You think it’s like… magic?” Kaylen asked.

       “How else can you explain what just happened?”

       “What if we’re stuck here? We can’t just hide up here! We’re in someone else’s house. Isn’t that illegal?” Nikki said.

       “It’s not like we did it on purpose…” Said Josie.

       “Well how do we explain that to them if they catch us?!” Said Nikki frustrated.

       “I guess theirs only one thing left to do then… Sneak out.” Kaylen opened the hatch to go down stairs.

       “Whoa whoa whoa!” Nikki stopped her. “We have NO CLUE where those boys are downstairs! If they catch us…” She trailed off.

       “That’s a chance I’m willing to take.” Josie peeled Nikki’s hand off the top of the hatch.

       “Yeah we know Danger” Nikki argued.

       “Common. Let’s just get this over with.” Kaylen stepped out and started climbing down the latter.

The girls’ hearts began to pound as they walked down the hallway to find the stairs to the first floor.

       “Over here.” Kaylen whispered as they reached the stairs. Josie (Danger) was the first to start walking down the stairs. The girls walked around close behind each other looking for the front door.

        “Alright let’s get out of here.” Nikki whispered and reached out for the door.

        “Whoa!” One of the boys yelled from behind them. The girls all jumped and looked back into the faces of the three boys….
