That night after everyone had left Joe and Niki's house we said our goodbyes and then headed towards their moms house,the place where they all grew up.I knew that it was going to be hard on Nick just because he didn't say anything the whole ride there.I watched as Kevin pulled his car up to the sidewalk and we all piled out of the car.Joe getting out of his as he looked around sighing a little.

"Nice to be home."Kevin said as he followed Joe up the porch steps.

"So,Kevin what have you been up to?"Nick asked as we followed behind him.

"l'm a freaking college professor,Nick."He said with a little laugh as he shook his head'What do you think l've been doing?"

"I doubt that."He whispered to me"Same old Kevin."

I smiled a little shaking my head as we headed onto the porch.

"You still playing in that band of yours?"Kevin asked.

"You guys aren't right leaving me out here in the cold like this."Someone said in an English accent causing me to jump as we all looked over in the corner where a girl was sitting in a lawn chair and as she slowly stood up and Joe turned the outside light on I noticed she was about 5'8" and had dark brown hair kinda like the boys but I knew that this was probably their adopted sister.

"Hey little sis."Kevin said as he walked over to her giving her a hug"You should be ashamed."
"I missed my flight."She said softly as she hugged him.

"You missed our mother's funeral too."Joe said as he walked over to her after Kevin had pulled away and walked into the house"Get over here."

She smiled as she hugged him and then he headed into the house too.

"Nicholas."She said with a little smile as she opened her arms up.

"You know I hate it when you call me that."He said shaking his head as he smiled a little and gave her a quick hug.

I watched as she looked at me a confused look on her face before she pulled away from Nick and smacked him upside the head.

"You and me are going to have a little chat later about this."She said as she pointed to me.

He only nodded his head before he came over and slowly grabbed my hand as we headed inside of the house.

"What was that about?"I whispered.

"While my brothers will pat me on the back for getting you pregnant my sisters another story."He said softly"She's like a second mother to us."

"I thought she was younger than Kevin and Joe."I said softly as we walked into the house.

"She is but that doesn't really matter."He said softly as he stopped and looked around.

I looked around the house as I slowly squeezed his hand.

"Nick you and Jenna take your old room,Lizz you take yours."Kevin said as he headed up the stairs"I'm taking mom's"

"I'm going to get something to eat."Lizz said softly as she headed that way"Do you guys want anything?"

"No thanks Lizz."Nick said softly as he headed up the stairs.

I shook my head slowly before I slowly followed after him.I slowly walked into his room as I glanced around,it looked like a normal teenage boys room.He was sitting on the bed as silent tears fell down his face.I slowly walked over and sat down on the bed next to him.

"Nick are you ok?"I asked softly as I took his hand placing it over my stomach.

"Yeah I am now that I'm with my family."He said softly as he gently rubbed my stomach"Thanks for coming with me."

I nodded my head slowly as he laid my head on his shoulder and took a deep breath.

Later that night I was laying on the bed while Nick sat beside me playing his guitar.I didn't recognize it as one of his regular songs so I figured it was something new that he had written.

"Still making a lot of racket on that freaking thing?"Kevin asked as he walked into the room.

"Yeah, still making a lot of racket."Nick said with a little shake of his head"It's weird being home."

"Yeah I know what you mean."He said sighing a little as he slid down to the floor"Mom didn't change a thing while we were gone."

Nick sighed a little as he glanced down at me.

"Would you look at that."Joe said leaning against the door frame.

"What?"Kevin asked.

"Nothing just happy to see my family that's all."He said with a little smile"So I was thinking I'd go by the store grab a turkey considering tomorrow's Thanksgiving."
"Yeah we should at least act like we're a family."Kevin said shaking his head.

"Mom would like that."Nick replied as he lit another cigarette.

"Man your going to make the baby sick doing that."Joe said shaking his head.

"And no one asked you."Nick said shaking his head.

"Where do you think your going?"Kevin asked and we all looked at the door to see Lizz heading down the stairs.

"Out."Was all that she said.

Joe shook his head and Kevin laughed a little.

"Yeah sure she's going to see that boy she left behind."He said and Nick started laughing.

I smiled a little that was the first time I had heard a real laugh come out of him since we found out about his mom.
