Her blond hair flew in the wind as she stormed past a couple of groups of boys, boys who were doing something she truly hated chewing so that she could hear it all happening. One of the boys laughed when she stumbled a little bit and she turns to glare straight into his ...beautiful... Hazel eyes.
“May I ask what is so freaking funny,” she asks giving him a look?
“Sorry but you know you were humming our song,” he says motioning to everyone sitting around him.
She surveys the group and a slight flush forms on her cheeks when she realizes he is right. She was humming S.O.S. by the Jonas Brothers and sitting right there were the Jonas Brothers. She brushes her hair behind her ear and bites her lip softly her nerves showing clearly in her habits before talking to the boys.
“Oh... Sorry. I just got abused by this boy in my dorm so you know. I mean not really abused but um he was poking me cause I was sitting on him cause he wouldn’t leave the chair I wanted to sit in. Okay I’m rambling someone stop me,” she says getting a laugh from the boy with the hazel eyes.
“Hey I’m Kevin but I guess you know that,” her favorite boy says with a smile.
“Hey. I’m Spencer. And yea I did know that Pkevs... I mean Kevin...” Spencer chuckles slightly as two of her friends walk up.
“Wow Spence way to find...” the shorter girl, Stephani, stops for a second before continuing, “cute...famous...boys.”
“Spencer my dear have I told you lately how lovely you are,” the other girl, Crystal, asks spotting the boys.
“Nope. Guys these are some of my best friends Stephani and Crystal,” Spencer grins.
“So you all go to college here,” Kevin asks them?
“Psshhh don’t kid yourself Pkevs. And I heard you calling him that Spence I came up with it loser. My dad is a professor here. I live on Campus but I’m only a sophomore in high school,” Stephani grins widely showing off her perfect smile.
“I’m a freshman in college... Sort of,” Crystal shrugs.
“Yea sort of,” Spencer says getting a look from Crystal.
The other two girls softly converse with everyone else as Kevin stands up and moves over next to Spencer a little grin on his face. His hazel eyes stare into hers and she blushes again slightly.
“So Spencer you go to school here right?”
“Yea. I’m the only one really. Crystal starts in the fall. She was suppose to come here last fall with me but her mom got really sick. So what are you guys doing here,” Spencer asks pointing to the deserted world she lives in?
“Well we were thinking of taking a while off and maybe Joe and me going to college and Nick going to a real school. And this seemed like as good of a place as any. So Spencer sell me on your school,” Kevin jokes with her.
“It’s great, you make awesome friends no matter how old you are I mean Stephani is 16, barely, Crystal turned 18 about a month ago and me well I’m about to turn 19. Besides I am here that means it’s the best school,” Spencer says coming out of her shell a bit.
“Dude Jam! Chill out with that will you. And yea I called you Jam you got a problem with it,” Stephani’s voice asks loudly causing them both to turn?
Stephani is glaring at Joe who is glaring right back that is until Crystal manages to get his attention back to her. Stephani is still sending Joe looks and with a sly movement steals his drink and pours it on his head before screaming and running off.
“LATER!”
Joe looks ready to kill her as everyone else tries to contain their laughter. But that doesn’t last long soon everyone is laughing, except Joe who is trying to figure out how he is going to get clean.
“Come on kid I’ll show you to a shower,” Crystal laughs.
So Joe, Crystal and Nick, who was really going in search of Stephani, walk off together until Nick spots the brunette girl sitting on the ground looking at the sky and runs over.
“Your friends are...” Kevin stops as he searches for the right word.
“Interesting, weird, odd, a bit crazy. Yea I know. Stephani is the nickname queen, though I don’t ask how she gets them most of the time. I mean Jam, Pkevs, she even calls herself Cabbage. So what do you think of it here,” Spencer asks hugging her jacket a bit closer to her body?
“I think you are cold and we should get coffee,” Kevin replies.
Spencer just laughs as she lets Kevin lead her to the closest Starbucks. It was her favorite place to get a coffee when she could and it was also his. Once there Kevin gets his normal, or what every website says is his normal, a Chai Latte and looks to her expectantly.
“Hot tea please.”
“You want hot tea? We are at Starbucks the coffee king of the world and you want hot tea,” Kevin asks as he pays for both drinks?
“You got a Chai Latte that’s not real coffee. And yes I want tea. I would get hot chocolate but I’m allergic to chocolate. Now don’t be mean to me or I will leave you here alone,” Spencer says sticking her tongue out at him.
“Allergic to chocolate? No way that is not possible,” Kevin says.
“I had the same thought when I found out. I think it’s almost as bad as Stephani she’s allergic to all brown sodas. No coke, or pepsi, or root beer, or Dr. Pepper. What are you allergic to,” Spencer asks grabbing the warm drink to heat her hands?
“Fruit,” Kevin answers.
“Now that is not possible. I think it’s just you don’t like fruit,” Spencer giggles.
“Nope allergic,” Kevin says sipping his Latte.
“Don’t believe you Mr. Jonas. There is no way you are allergic to all fruit. Trust me on that one. Stephani is allergic to all the peach family. But not all fruit she loves like Kiwi’s and Banana’s and such,” Spencer tells him.
“I’m telling you. I’m allergic. Ask anyone,” he answers.
“Still don’t believe you Kev,” Spencer says shaking her head.
“Why not? Is this not the face of a truthful person,” Kevin asks putting a little pout on his face?
“If it is the truthful person is very sad or pathetic,” Spencer teases getting a look from Kevin.
“I was kidding Kev! So did you know I am a theater major,” Spencer asks getting a laugh from Kevin?
“No I can’t go online and look up facts on you randomly,” Kevin answers causing Spencer to giggle.
“I do no such thing... I leave that up to Crystal and Stephani. They both got me hooked on this really cute boy band when we met. And said that I would be a good match with one of the boys,” Spencer smiles.
“And which boy was that,” Kevin asks her?
“Clearly Nicholas,” Spencer says with a shrug.
“Pencer,” Kevin says causing her to laugh.
“Pencer? Original I’ll give you that. But no they said you. But I don’t know if I can be a match with a boy allergic to fruit,” Spencer says shaking her head.
“Well I want to be a match with a girl allergic to chocolate,” Kevin says softly.
Spencer smiles at him and much to her surprise he leans over and kisses her cheek softly before moving his mouth over slightly so the corner of his mouth and the corner of her mouth touch in a little kiss. She grins widely as he laces his hand into hers and they walk off in search of their friends. One thing was certain to Spencer though life was never going to be the same.
