Re: NEW NICK FAN FICTION - LOVE AT FIRST WRITE :]

okay fair warning this chapter is crazy long but exciting! well at least i think it is! enjoy and PLEASE keep on commenting! enjoy!

Chapter 6:
“MY BOYS!” Grandma Jonas yelled from her front porch, power walking across her newly cut grass. Kevin got to her first, smiling, thinking back to the time when she would call him every weekend to come and cut it. Not once did he refuse.
“GRAMMY!” Joe yelled, like a little kid. Running straight for her, he picked her up in a huge hug, twirling her frail body around.
“JOSEPH ADAM JONAS! PUT DOWN MY MOTHER!” Mr. Jonas called from the car. All the while, Grandma Jonas just kept on laughing.
“Alright Joey, that’s enough. I’m getting old you know.” She softly said, smiling and patting his shoulder. As Joe gently put her feet to the ground, she looked around for Nick.
“Nicholas? Honey babe, where are you?” She sweetly called.
“Right here, grandma.” He walked over to her, smiling wide. He knew if he didn’t she would make him somehow. When he was younger she would always pinch his cheeks and “make his frown turn upside down”. It was a ritual.
“Ah. There’s that million-dollar smile of yours” She had little tears in her eyes, gazing up at her now tall grandson. He had become such the gentleman.
“It’s great to see you.” Nick grabbed her hand and kissed it lightly.
“Paul, where did you get such astounding boys? They just fell straight from heaven, now didn’t they?” Grandma Jonas swooned as they led her inside.
“I don’t know. They’re something alright.” Mrs. Jonas replied. She loved seeing the boys with her mother-in-law. She hoped they would always remember to treat a lady like that.
“GRANDMA! GRANDMA! I WANT SOME COOKIES!” Frankie was jumping up and down trying to get her attention.
“Well come on, then little booger. I got some lemon bars with your name written all over it.” She smiled, slowly walking to the kitchen.
Nick, Kevin, and Joe all looked around, taking in the smell of their grandma’s familiar home. It was just how they left it, same creaky wooden furniture and stained rugs. Kevin saw his old rocking horse and cowboy hat sitting in a corner. He smiled remembering the days his grandparents would play Cowboys with him. Joe looked up at the wall, seeing every funny picture of him imaginable. He either had cake stuffed in his face or had a goofy grin on, hamming it up for the camera. Nick gazed around the old family room and saw a single piano sitting in the corner. He remembered his grandpa first teaching him how to play and sitting at that piano for hours, trying to get his thoughts onto the keys. He slid over to it and lightly pressed his palm to the old wooden frame. He ran his eyes down the ancient black and white keyboard and smiled. His chin began to wobble a little bit as he remembered his grandpa. It had been so long since he had heard his music.
“Now where did my precious grandsons go?” Grandma Jonas called from the kitchen. The smell of lemon and powdered sugar wafted through the house. All three boys stood at attention and raced to get there first. Kevin leaped around the corner and dove for the kitchen table while Joe got stuck in a doorway, too tall for it all of a sudden. He forgot how small his grandma was.
“HERE!” Kevin shouted, already taking out a plate to grab one of her famous desserts.
“Woah, there cowboy. Take it easy.” She replied. Mr. Jonas beamed at his mother. Now, he did not regret taking them here on such a busy schedule.
 “I’m next!” Joe hollered.
“There’s plenty to go around.” She calmly cut up the lemon bars, putting them onto her nice china. As they all sat around savoring the taste, Nick smiled at the moment…Kevin and Joe stuffing their faces with squishy lemon goodness, going for fourths. His father was closing his eyes, taking in the warmth of his old home. His mother was gazing at her boys, and holding a napkin to Frankie’s face.
“Now, Nick, you know you can give me that smile again.” His grandma was suddenly behind him whispering in his ear. Nick beamed, giving his grandmother another hug.
 “I missed you, grams.”
“Thanks, baby. And I know your grandfather would be so proud.” He looked up at her shiny eyes, crinkling up at the edges, gazing at him in complete adoration. She knew exactly how he was feeling in one single look.
“Aw, thanks.” Nick sniffed, thinking back again to this grandpa. He never really realized it but his grandpa had taught him everything he needed to know. When he died, Nick felt like the world had crashed at his feet, the music suddenly halted in a great symphony. Grandma Jonas rubbed his shoulder as he looked down at the old table he had spent days at playing cards.
“I think I’m gonna go check out the basement.” Kevin slowly drawled out, getting up from his chair, too stuffed with lemon bars to even move.
“I’ll come with you.” Nick stood up, making his way to the creaky old steps. As he went down, he recognized the wooden railing that had been there his whole life. Kevin walked over to the old closet, taking out old board games they played and even his popper gun from when he was three.
“Wow, good times.” Kevin looked down at it, making it pop once again.
“Nothing’s changed.” Nick smiled, watching Kevin’s eyes sparkle at the noise. What was with Kevin and weird sounds?
Nick idled over to the rickety book case, lightly feeling each binding under his fingertips. He remembered sitting on his grandpa’s lap, trying to pronounce words in a huge book that was way over his head.
“Remember this?” Nick asked, picking up an old scrapbook he had made with his grandpa for their huge fishing trip. It had been his first time and his grandma had insisted on taking tons of pictures.
“SMILE, NICHOLAS! C’mon, sugar.” Grammy yelled, eyes squinting behind an oh-so-hip camera that had just come out.
“CHEESE!” Nick smiled, holding up a tiny fish, Grandpa’s strong and firm hand clamped onto his shoulder.
“I’m so proud of you, son.” His weary brown eyes were twinkling down on Nick, pride glowing on his face.
Nick looked at the old picture of him and his grandfather, smiling into the bright sun, the lake shimmering on a warm and sunny afternoon. Same eyes, same smile. The pang of his grandfather’s death from about a year ago was still hurting. Still flipping through the crinkled old photo album, he came along one certain photo, nothing to do with fishing. The picture was folded in half and was lying on an empty page. He slowly opened it, a bright face suddenly appearing on the yellowed paper. It was a girl. She had on a yellow sun dress, brown hair falling loosely over her shoulders. Nick stopped breathing and had to sit down on a nearby stool. “Nick? You alright, bud?” Kevin asked. He now had on his old cowboy hat on, trying to put his tiny vest on over his broad shoulders.
Nick didn’t respond. He was still staring at the picture, mouth open, eyes wide.
“Hello?? Anyone home?” Kevin waved a hand in front of Nick’s face, looking down at what was dumbfounding him.
“Who is that?” Kevin asked, looking directly at Nick. Once again, nothing came out of his mouth.
“I…I…”Nick stuttered. His hands were shaking, holding the photo in his hand. The girl smiled back at him, a shy smile, a happy face. He could tell just by the way she was in the picture, he knew she had a good heart.
“Nick…” Kevin poked him in the side.
“What?” Nick finally looked up for a split second before looking back down at it again.
“Do you know her or something?” Kevin picked up the picture and watched as Nick’s eyes followed it, still staring at the girl’s face.
“Um, I don’t think so. I mean, maybe.” Nick got up from the stool, knees still a little shaky and stared at the picture again.
 “She’s hot.” Kevin sighed.
“Huh? Oh, yeah…Um, she is.” Nick was nervous. Why did Kevin use the word hot? She deserved more than that. She was beautiful, gorgeous, adorable, pretty, wonderful, happy… She was everything.
“Let’s go ask who it is! C’mon!” Kevin was already up the stairs. Nick sighed and ran up the steps, wanting to see her face again. He walked in just as Kevin was sitting down at the table next to their grandmother. She was holding the photo lightly and had one hand over her chest, breathing slowly. Nick stayed in the door frame, watching her intently for an answer.
“My…Kevin…This is me.” She looked up at Kevin’s anticipated face. Grandma Jonas looked back down at the picture of herself. She had forgotten she had once looked like that in her life.
“Do you mean to tell me that I thought my grandmother was hot?!” Kevin put his hands on his face, blushing.
“KEVIN!” Joe laughed, point in Kevin’s direction.
“What?! She really is beautiful.” Kevin said, making his grandmother swoon.
“My Kevy, such the charmer.” She slowly looked down at the picture and then found Nick’s eyes. They were staring at the floor, his eyebrows crinkled, and a hand running through his thick hair.
“Nick? Something wrong?” Mrs. Jonas asked, noticing Nick must be worried.
 “Um…no…I’m just confused.” He replied.
Everything was running through his head. He believed it was his grandma but there was something about that face. He could have sworn he had seen it somewhere. Not just his grandma’s but someone else’s. That same smile. Those same eyes. The long brown hair. The friendly yet shy expression. It was all coming back to him. It was the girl from his dream.

pretty freaky deak huh? it'll get better! keep reading! THANK YOU!

Re: NEW NICK FAN FICTION - LOVE AT FIRST WRITE :]

(even in geometry..woops should be paying attention) but thanks again! and enjoy!!

Chapter 7:

His fingers were intertwined through mine, holding tight, never letting go.
“But why?” I asked, looking up, tears starting to form on my cheeks.
“Because…” He sighed. He looked down, stroking  my thumb.
“Why me, Nick?” I was looking at his strained face. My voice caught.
“Because…Kelly…I love you.” He finally looked at me and I collapsed.
Staring into his brown puppy-dog eyes, I could see everything. He looked right back at me, never losing my gaze once. Love was everywhere in his gaze and I sighed, my breath coming out at a rapid pace. He slowly moved in closer to me, holding my hand still. I could no longer see his precious eyes. They were closed, his breathing intermixing with mine. I shut my eyes and leaned in.
“KELLY!!!!!! WAKE UP!” My mom screamed from the kitchen.
Okay, I was having yet another dream about Nick Jonas. So, kill me. But that one had felt so real. I don’t know how it had crept up. Surprisingly after all the drama with my family, I forced myself back into school work and friends rather than my imagination. That part unfortunately was left with my dreaming at night.
I sat up in bed, staring at the clock. 10 minutes till Holly picked me for school.  Just great. I threw off the covers, an instant rush of freezing air coming straight at me. Shivering, I raced to my closet and threw on some comfy jeans and a sweatshirt. No time to fix up today. My long brain hair was a mess, sticking in every direction but I didn’t care. At least it was there.
“COMING?!” My mom yelled just as Holly’s mom pulled into the driveway.
“Yep!” I grabbed a yogurt, my backpack and of course, my trusty iPod and raced out the door. Holly was sitting in the front seat, a scowl on her face.
“Good morning” I breathed heavily, trying to sound like I just waltzed out the door happy as can be. They didn’t have know that I woke up a mere 5 minutes before.
“Good morning, Kelly” Mrs. Jacobs said brightly. She nudged Holly, still angry about something, and looked in my direction.
“Hey, Kell.” Holly mumbled. I decided to leave it at that.
“Well, let’s get going!” Mrs. Jacobs sing-songed while we backed up.
It had only been two seconds before I finally knew what was bugging Holly. Let’s just say she liked to voice her opinion.
“Mom, okay, remind me again why I can’t go to the Jonas Brothers concert this summer?” Holly asked, her voice straining every syllable of Jo-nas-Bro-thers. My ears pricked up, like some excited poodle, and snapped my head around to stare at Holly.
“Honey, this is not the time or place for that.” She calmly replied.
“Um, concert?” I asked trying to get something out of Holly I obviously didn’t know.
“Yes! And tickets go on sale this weekend. Why won’t you let me go?!” Holly whined, her arm slumped on the side of the car door and head lolling around like a rag doll.
“Because! You’ve already gone to one this year. Do you absolutely have to see them again? Why do they have to tour so much?” Mrs. Jacobs muttered to herself.
“Because they are popular, MOM! And they are playing new songs!”
WHAT?! NEW SONGS?! Why was she not telling me about this. I leaned forward from my solitary seat in the back and tapped Holly on the shoulder.
“Um, Holly, care to elaborate?” I whispered.
She turned around and gave me the shut-up look and I immediately sat back. My mind was whirling. I wonder what their lyrics would be like! What if they started experimenting with new instruments or adding more acoustic? I could barely contain my excitement.
“Well, we’ll see.” Mrs. Jacobs was sitting up straight, nodding, assuring herself she was a strict and firm mother. We all knew she was a sucker for anything, though.
“The tickets are going to sell out in milliseconds, Mom! We don’t have time to see!” Holly had her hands whirling about trying to get some attention.
“I said, we will wait and see.” Her mom took her eyes off the road and stared intently at Holly. I think she had lost this one. She sat back in a huff, clearly defeated. But I knew the second we got out of the car she would be back up and running again, telling me everything.
After what seemed like years, we finally made it to school. I had my iPod with me so I listened to a little Stevie Wonder to cheer me up. Those songs just made me so happy inside. It was better than silence that was for sure. We stepped out of the mini-van, complete with Holly slamming the door, making sure to give her mom a good stare-down.
“Okay, so what is with this concert deal? I had no clue they were going back on tour! Did they just announce it last night?”  I asked eagerly. I had spent the whole night reading so I didn’t have time to check up on the good ol’ boys.
“Yes, they are going on the Burning Up tour. Remember those songs they played at the concert? Those are going to be on the new CD and there will be new ones they are going to play…at this next concert! We have to go!” She huffed, slumping her shoulders, the puppy-dog pout forming on her lips.
“Well, what if your mom changes her mind?” I asked, trying to make her feel better.
“Let’s hope so. Who knows why it’s such a big problem! So they have another tour, that means they’re successful and worth seeing!” She assured herself. At least she had one thing in common with her mother.
Walking into school, I suddenly stopped. My ears were going in and out, like take off on an airplane.  Holly kept on walking while I stood my ground, completely immobile. Every single person was walking by, some destination in mind. No one saw me or looked me in the eyes. Too focused on whatever they were going after to care. Everything went dead silent. I had a feeling it was just me because everyone else seemed normal. All I could hear was my breath going in and out in my head, my heart beating fast and out of pace. Then, I heard someone whispering to me. I didn’t think it was Holly. She was already storming to her locker, angrily turning the lock. I gazed around me. I was standing in the middle of the hallway, everyone rushing by. It felt like I was the only one in the world and yet that voice had to come from somewhere.
“I love you” the voice whispered. It gave me chills up and down my spine. A piano started playing and I could feel the music growing larger and larger, building up till it was blaring in me ears. I closed my eyes and listened to the beautiful music playing. I had no clue where it was coming from. My iPod was off. The next thing I knew, the music had stopped, over, done. The voice hidden in some place was lost, out of my reach and no longer in my mind. My eyes snapped open and I was on the ground. Weird.
“Watch it!” An angry quarterback spat in my face. I must have been pretty immersed in my own head to even realize I was blocking traffic flow in the halls. I got up, dusting my already dirty sweatshirt off and sighed.
“What was that?” Holly asked, her eyes quizzing mine.
“I…I don’t know. I guess I just blacked out or something.” I looked around me. What happened to the piano? The music? The beautiful chords resonating everywhere? Who was playing? I searched for it, confused.
“Well, do you need to go the nurse?” Holly asked, grabbing my elbow, steadying me, trying to get me to look only at her.
“No, I’ll be fine. Didn’t get enough sleep or something.” I started to slowly walk forward. Still confused, I tried to think about what had happened. All I remembered was the piano and the voice. Other than that, I couldn’t tell you who passed me, what conversations were being held. I was happy when it was silent. When it was just me and the music playing, I felt at home. But that voice. The same cold air that woke me up this morning seemed to rush past me again. It had sounded so familiar, so real like it was coming from right behind me. I reeled around to see no one there. Still completely lost, Holly put her hand on my shoulder and led me to homeroom. Why was everything so loud?

It was late at night at Grandma Jonas’ house. The sound of the old heater was cranking out its low tone. Nick was wide awake. He could hear Joe snoring on the other side of the room. Nick sat up and looked around in the dark. The outline of the old dresser was there like last time. The closet he knew had a bunch of old junk in it even though his grandma claimed it was just towels. Nick got out of the little bed he had fit into as a child and put his feet on the cold wooden floor. He tiptoed towards the kitchen, in search of a snack that might help him sleep. As he made it into the next room, he noticed a light was on. Looking around the corner he saw his grandmother sitting in her robe, staring intently at a small mug of coffee. She looked up, noticed Nick’s tired face staring back at her.
“Nicholas, you’re up. Are you okay?” She asked, scooting out of her chair.
“Oh, I’m fine. Just hungry.” He walked over to the ancient refrigerator and grabbed a bag of grapes. Grandma Jonas watched as her grandson quietly got a bowl out and a glass of water. When he sat down, she reached over and touched his strong arm.
 “Nick…” She whispered, smiling.
Nick breathed in and out and felt the light touch of his grandma’s frail fingers gliding along his wrist. He looked into her eyes and remembered the picture once again. He shifted and took her hand in his and smiled back at her. Somehow she understood. He could feel it. He let go of her hand and sighed. As he ate the grapes, he realized he wasn’t even hungry. The only thing keeping him up was the photograph.
“Nick…what surprised you so much about that picture?” She asked intently.
Now she could read minds. Nick sighed and looked down at his bowl of grapes, fiddling with a mushy one.
“Nicholas?” Her loving gaze looked back at him. He couldn’t respond as much as he tried. The silence taking over the kitchen loomed over his head, begging him to talk. Words never came, only staying in his throat. They were trapped trying to be let out but never found the way.
