Chapter one
TOXIC
“Please, don’t go,” I held onto Nicholas Jerry Jonas’ sleeve, “You can’t leave me here.”
The night breeze picked up as we both stood outside Nicholas’ house. I felt the cool grass between my toes. The silence was seemed to scare the both of us, sending me through shudders when I heard the leaves on the tree’s sway.
I needed to get a grip. Madeline Faye Bridges never broke down for nobody. However, Nick wasn’t just anybody. To me, he was everybody.
“I need to get out of here,” Nick put his hands on my forearms and took a strong grip, “I need to make something out of myself, please Madeline…you need to understand me right now.”
There he stood. Tall, muscular, and strong. There stood my best friend, and he was leaving me.
“I’m trying so hard,” I held my breath and closed my eyes, “But please, I can’t stay here with you gone.”
“Maddie,” He sighed, “You know you would do the same thing if you had the chance.”
“I would,” She nodded, “But I would never leave without you.”
Suddenly his honey brown eyes lit up. A soft smile appeared on his lips and he lifted his hand to my left cheek. He gently stroked it with his thumb and smiled.
“So come with me.”
“What?” My voice cracked.
“Escape with me,” Our foreheads touched, our eyes one on one.
I stared deep into his eyes. Hoping to find some kind of regret or doubt just seeping through. But all I found was the sincerest of honesty.
“Please,” He began to beg now, “I want to live my dream, and I can’t if you’re not with me every step of the way. So be with me.”
“I’ll be with you,” I felt my knees go weak.
I dropped myself onto him. My arms wrapped around his neck and my lips attached to his. He held onto my closely, so perfectly, and I let the kiss deepen. I was going to escape with him; Hollywood love.
