Part XLVII
Mia’s POV
I crawled out from under my covers, a weird feeling in my shoulder. I hadn’t felt this before, so why had it started now? And all of the sudden too…
“Morning Mommy” I greeted my mom when she walked into the kitchen, as I buttered my toast
“Morning Mia. Sleep okay?” she asked
I shrugged. “My shoulder kinda…” I said, but stopped. Mom still didn’t know.
“Shoulder kinda what?” Mom asked when I paused.
“Uh, hurts.” I quickly said.
“Sleep on it wrong?” Mom asked sipping her coffee.
“No, actually” I said slowly.
“Did you pull a muscle?” Mom asked
I shook my head “…No…”
“Then what is it?” she asked again
I took a deep breath. “Don’t yell, don’t scream, don’t get mad at me. It wasn’t my fault. I was going to tell you last night, but I didn’t” I said.
“…Ok…” Mom said confused
Dad wasn’t home. Mom would be the first to know.
“Jade and Chris…they…gave me a…a…” I stuttered
“…Gave u a…” Mom continued for me, a worried look on her face.
I didn’t want to get Jade and Chris in trouble. I didn’t want to know what they’d do to me.
“A…tattoo” I said quietly.
Mom’s jaw dropped all the way to the floor. “A WHAT?!?!?” she screamed
“Yes” I whispered
“Let me see” Mom ordered, and I showed her my shoulder.
“Oh Mia” Mom gasped, and pulled me into her arms.
“Those devils. Don’t worry honey, I’ll handle it. I am a lawyer so…” Mom said
“Uh, that won’t be necessary” I said
“What?” Mom asked “I think it is. I’m you’re mother…”
“I told them to do it” I spit out
“You what?” Mom asked
“I asked them to.” I spit out, not thinking
“What? Why?” Mom asked, a disappointed look on her face
“I, uh, wanted one.” I said.
“You wanted one?” Mom restated
“Yes ma’am” I lied
“But, Mia, why?” Mom asked
I shrugged. “I, don’t know”
Mom sighed. “I’m disappointed in you Mia.”
“I’m sorry Mom. I wasn’t thinking. It’s not bad though” I said
“No, but still. You haven’t even graduated high school. I mean, you’re about to, but still” Mom said
“I know. Mrs. Jonas said I should probably see a doctor to make sure it’s not infected or anything” I told her
“Well I agree with her. You know what, I’ll call the doctor right now. You’re not going to school today” Mom told me
“But Mom, I have student council stuff and…” I objected
“Amelia, no” Mom said firmly, and dialed the doctor’s number
I rolled my eyes and sat down at the counter, opening up my laptop.
Joe had left me several emails. I smiled as I read them.
To Mia:
From Joe:
Hey baby,
Just wanted to say hi, and, well, that’s really it! LOL. Anyways, Frankie is over-the-moon about getting to meet you. It’s all he’s been talking about. I’m kind of excited about it too.
Tell ur parents I say hi too. They came back, right? Oh wait, I know that they did. LOL. I’m stupid. (Feel free to disagree. JK)
Anyways, ttyl and I’ll email u l8r about the tour and details and stuff. K?
Love always,
Joe
Email #2
To Mia:
From Joe:
Yo yo yo!!
Ok, tour details.
We have our first show July 4th, and we go through my birthday, which is August 15th, (which u know…hopefully. Jk. Jk. Jk. Jk). Anyways, if u don’t want to be on tour for, I guess, like a month and a few days, it’s cool. Just let me know.
But like I was saying, tour from July 4th-August 15th…I think. I’m never 100% on these things, and Nick is sick right now, so he’s un-socialable (if that’s even a word. Lol). Mom’s taking him to the doctor l8r. Frankie was sick w/ what she thinks he has a few days ago.
So it’s still a while until the tour.
Oh, and btw, idk if I told u, but my parents said it’d be fine if I came to ur graduation!! Just make sure to tell me when it is, so I don’t miss it (again, not so good w/ dates. Lol)
Gtg, ttyl
Joe
Most of the rest of Joe’s emails consisted of something like
To Mia:
From Joe:
Yo, guess who? Ok, u probably know. Anyways, it’s like 4 am, and we have a photoshoot thing, so we’re up early, so yeah. I’m bored. Kevin is taking FOREVER in the shower.
He’s out.
TTYL
Joe
Or
To Mia:
From Joe:
Hey babe. It’s Joe, obvious. Anyways, call me. Or I’ll call you. Something like that. Lol. TTYL, Joe
I finally just responded to one, saying when my graduation was (next Tuesday) and tour dates sound fine, and I’m sure it won’t be a problem. College wouldn’t start until September anyways. I still hadn’t told Joe where I was going…I planned to on graduation day.
“Mia, we’re going to the doctor at 1, so if you want to go to school…” Mom started
“No, I’m like 45 minutes late now. No point of going” I stopped her
“Ok then” Mom said. “I’ll be in my office, okay”
“Sounds good” I said, and started to surf on the internet.
Well, that was one thing off my to do list.
Part XLVIII (48…Possibly…These Roman Numeral Things Are Kinda Confusing…)
Nick’s POV
I plopped down into the front seat of the car, and fastened my seatbelt
“Is your stomach any better?” Mom asked me
I shook my head. “No”
Mom sighed “Ok”
I turned on the radio, and “Sexy Can I” came on
“Uh, we’re not listening to that. Change it” Mom told me
“Mom, there’s nothing wrong with this song” I told her
“I don’t like it. Now change it” Mom said.
I groaned, and flipped the station, hitting a station that was playing “Face Down”
“This song is talking about a guy being happy for abusing a girl. No. Change it” Mom said
“No! This is a great song! Seriously” I assured her
“Nicholas, change it” Mom told me sternly
I rolled my eyes and flipped the station yet again, finding “See You Again” by Miley Cyrus.
“Ok, you can leave it on this one” Mom said
“You like this song?” I asked
“Yes. I do” Mom said, and I rolled my eyes.
The Last Time I Freaked Out
I Just Kept Looking Down
I St-St-Stuttered When You Asked Me What’ I’m Think ‘Bout
Felt Like I Couldn’t Breath
You Asked What’s Wrong With Me
My Best Friend Leslie Said Oh She’s Just Bein’ Miley
The Next Time We Hang Out
I Will Redeem Myself.
My Heart, It Can’t Rest ‘Till Then
Oh. I. I Can’t Wait. To See You Again
My mom sang along with the song
“Mom, stop it” I told her
“What? Why?” She asked
“Someone may see you. Someone may see me” I told her.
“Nick” she laughed “No one can see us”
“That’s what you think. Then they jump out of no where with a camera and a YouTube account and I never live it down because it gets all over YouTube and the paparazzi finds out and asks me about it every time I turn around” I told her
“Nick, you’re over reacting. That won’t happen. The windows are tinted” Mom told me
“They can still see through them” I said
Mom laughed “Whatever Nick. Whatever you say”
