Chapter Two: This is Really Great David!
I stood at the front of the stage, not moving, not my normal hyper self. I looked around the audience, smiling happy smiles while my eyes were full of sadness. It had been a year since his death, but I knew it was my fault that he wasn't here with us right now. I saw a girl and a boy dancing around, the girl was about 14, and the guy who must have been her brother was about 16. "Thanks for bringing me here! This is really great, David!"
I stopped singing. David. I dropped to my knees as tears began to well up in my eyes again. I looked up through blurred vision and looked around the audience again.
I saw a sign that said, "I want the old Joe Back." in big letters and then underneath it in smaller letters it said, "I loved him." I wiped my eyes, looking closer at the girl .Brown hair, blue eyes, about 16. Then I finally realized. That girl was Demitria Devonne Smith.
Demi.
